This house really sits close to the bay and at ground level you are only a few feet from the water when you walk out the door. This is a large, private 2 acre corner lot that sits on the bay with a canal along one side and a wooded area along the other side. Private Deep water Boat Dock for Boating, Fishing, and Sun Bathing. A small sandy Beach-like area for the Kids next to the Dock. Lush Landscaping with Palm trees, Gumbo Limbo's, and many other Tropical plants. Your own heated pool with decorative waterfall is located conveniently between main house and charming guest house. Pool has safety fence for small children. All ground level with no stairs to climb. A large screened porch area over-looks the bay. And you can watch the sun rise accross the water in the morning from your bed in either of the two larger bedrooms; both have sliding glass doors that open bayside.

20 minute boat run to deep-sea fishing just beyond the world famous scuba diving at Looe Key. 20 minute boat ride to content keys(if you know the waters) famous Lobster Diving. Good flats fishing in all directions. Less then 30 miles to the famous Shopping and Nightlife of Key West. Just a few moments drive to the Key Deer Sanctuary on Big Pine Key. Boat rentals available a nearby Dolphin Marina. Fish caught in nearby waters, Tarpon, Bonefish, Dolphin, Mangrove Snapper, Yellowtail, Grouper, sharks, Billfish, etc. If you don't have a Boat- Good fishing and Snorkeling right off the Dock where the canal meets the Bay. This is a well maintained tropical Paradise for Fishing/Diving or just a private Tropical Getaway, just a short drive to many area attractions.

  • We stayed here Easter 2005 and are booked for 2006. It is in a very quiet spot, so peaceful! The kids enjoyed the sand area and we ALL enjoyed the dock and the wonderful, large pool. We enjoyed all the amenities of using the Powell's wonderful home. We did a lot of crabbing around the dock, plus fishing (not so much luck), watching the fish around the dock (even a very large barracuda!). There are many great restaurants with a 5-15 minute drive. With the kids, it was wonderful having the washer & dryer. We'll be back!

  • The Keys are always a wonderful place to visit. The Powell House made our stay more enjoyable than other visits we've had to the keys. The kids swam in the pool, snorkeled at the dock, fished in the canal, ran the big yard, played in the sand, and napped in the hammock. All that and Wow, what a view, morning, noon and night....

    HI, I am the owner, diane powell. I only added this site this past month...may 04. We have plenty of comments in the guest book I leave at the house. But, I'm not sure many people will use this after they have left. Mostly, people have commented on how much fun they have had and that they want to return. I have had a few comments on how much nicer our place is in person. The pool is a big hit. I really haven't had any negative comments. diane powell
