Our house is located near the award winning "The Wine Room", which was formerly The Smothers Brother's Tasting Room.Now on Saturdays,at the St. Francis Winery (1/2 mile away) from 12-4 guests have a chance to meet the winemakers. Throughout the Summer there will be activities at The Wine Room and many include live music - all of which you can walk to and partake in. We are also directly across the street from Kenwood Winery, within WALKING distance to FIVE other TASTING ROOMS plus THREE excellent restaurants, and yet have the benefits of country living. Sit in the hot tub at night,look at the sky through the giant redwoods, and find out why this area is called "Valley of the Moon".
We are only 5 minutes FROM THE KENWOOD INN & SPA, WHICH WAS JUST SELECTED THE #1 RESORT, in all of North America, BY CONDE NAST TRAVELER MAGAZINE'S READER'S CHOICE AWARDS.
The house and grounds have a history dating back to the early 1900's and therefore there are towering redwoods, maples and oaks in one area (of the over 1/3 acre the house sits on) that makes you feel you are in a redwood grove or your own park. Small weddings were once performed here and there is a permanent area made for dancing under the stars where the spa is now. Off the back deck is a mature grape arbor and views of the beautiful Sonoma hills. The house has a completely open floor plan downstairs and includes the outside deck, inspiring conversation as you cook, eat or just hang out. If you choose to rent just the apartment you will be able to enjoy all of the outdoor amenities by yourselves. This location invites a perfect combination of wine tasting, hiking, interacting with people during the day and yet have serenity, if you choose it, in the evening hours to spa and enjoy the redwoods.
There are THREE WAYS TO RENT this property. However, there is only one choice during each rental period. If you choose A (the apartment) , B (the house) will be vacant and if you choose B, A will be vacant. C) is the house and the apartment, which are joined by an interior door. The reason we are allowing only one type of rental at a time is we have not separated the outside portion of the two units. Therefore, you, as renters get the best of all worlds because you can enjoy the entire outside knowing there will nobody else during your stay.

- Balcony: Off the master bedroom is a balcony overlooking the grounds of The Wine Room, which often has live music during the weekend days. You can enjoy the music with your own bottle of wine and be part of the party. If there is nothing going on at the Wine Room enjoy the views of the vineyards and Surgarloaf Mountain State Park.

Last week we hosted a women's financial group on the property for dinner and discussion. Comments were " This is a great place to have for a weekend for my book group. It feels so spacious: everyone can find a place to be quiet and yet it has several perfect places to get together at times for discussions." "The furnishings are wonderful. I'm going to come back with just my husband for a romatic get-a-way." "The location is awesome- this is in the heart of some of the most beautiful country in the world and yet close to so much to do."
