What a treat to walk into such a spacious and welcoming home. The decor was updated and nicely done. The backyard was very serene with the water flowing in the fountain, made it very peaceful. The house was just the right size for the family and the studio was perfect for just the two of us.The owner was prompt to respond to our Email regarding renting the house and we would definitely rent it again. We enjoyed The Villa restuarant in Santa Rosa and Cafe Citti (in walking distance). If you order the Caesar salad from Cafe Citti you must love garlic! St. Francis Winery is one of our favorites for both atmosphere and great tasting wines.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We spent 3 nights at this property, There were 6 of us and we thought enjoyed staying here. The house was very clean. We cooked all our meal here. There was plenty of room for everyone to hang out. It is in a nice neighbor, were you can run without being on the main highway. We will definitely consider staying here again.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing.

We visited this Kenwood property in late fall, and the conditions couldn't have been more perfect. We just missed the crush, but we still had plenty of fun. We were 3 separate families, and this lovely home offered the perfect blend of privacy and community. The location is superb, offering wineries and restaurants within walking distance as well as a dazzling variety of world class restaurants within a short drive. This part of Sonoma county is a gem, boasting every kind of micro-climate from primeval forest to babbling brook. Try a bike ride or a round of golf. We are relaxed and refreshed after spending an idyllic long weekend here. We'd recommend this charming facility, operated by a wonderful family, to any and all.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Six of us shared the house and apartment for a week. We had plenty of room. Great location made it easy to get around the Sonoma/Napa area. Several good tasting rooms nearby, our favorite was Ty Caton/Muscardini, just a few blocks away. Looking forward to next year!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was our first experience using VRBO and we were NOT disappointed! We had 3 couples on a mission to visit as many Sonoma County wineries as we could. This was an outstanding location and the property was everything that we hoped it would be. We had plenty of room to spread out and plenty of room to enjoy each other's company at the large dining table and on the backyard deck. We had everything we needed to make dinner and enjoy the many bottles of wine that we purchased throughout the day. This is a lovely property - very comfortable inside and out! We would love to return someday for another great vacation in wine country!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I had the pleasure of staying at Kenwood House at the end of May. My friends and I were celebrating my birthday and it was the first time many of us had been up to wine country. Although it rained almost non-stop, we did not let it ruin our stay! Luckily Kenwood is extremely close to many wineries so we did not have to venture too far along the highway for wine tastings. My personal favorite was St. Francis winery which couldn't have been more than a mile or so away from the house. At night when the rain died down, we got into the jacuzzi which is nesteled in a private area of the yard. When we arrived the first night, we were so pleased to see the open floor plan and high ceilings in the main room. It really felt like a big, cozy cabin in the woods. The house easily accomodated the five of us and I would have felt comfortable adding a few more guests as space was ample. The great room downstairs was perfect for sitting around, chatting, and enjoying some of the wine we purchased. The kitchen is equiped with all the basic cooking necessities and we went to a local grocery store and made breakfast the two mornings we were there. One last note -- there is a cafe/restaurant within walking distance of the house and they serve the most delicous ceasar salad I have ever had. So much garlic and it had smoked chicken! I can't wait to go back to Kenwood House for my next wine country excursion.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I spent a weekend here with some friends and even though it was raining, we had a great time. The wineries could not be closer to the house, making it super convenient. There are also restaurants and markets nearby. The house itself is great. Spacious and fully updated. Great kitchen, comfortable beds and hot tub outside. I would definitely come here again and recommend it to anyone wanting to spend a weekend in Sonoma.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

five of us 20-somethings spent a wonderful weekend in this house and had zero complaints! the house itself is gorgeous and it is incredibly convenient to many great wineries and restaurants. It is a nice, quiet location with everything you could possibly need provided and was an amazing place to get away for a few days! The hot tub makes nights following days full of wine drinking even better! highly recommended!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We were a group of college friends reuniting after 10+ years for a classmate's wedding. This house was absolutely perfect for 3 couples and one other person. It was clean, well kept, and the yard was espeically nice with so many trees, flowers, vines. Its big dining room table and large living room were great for the group gathering. We stayed in for a bbq the second night because the house and yard were so enjoyable. It was the perfect location for Kenwood church wedding and train depot reception, and would be great for anyone wanting to spent time in Kenwood, but also have easy access to both Santa Rosa and Sonoma. We have already recommended the property to friends, and would love to stay there again. Our only regret about this past trip is that we couldn't stay longer!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I stayed in the apartment for two nights in late June. We absolutely loved it! The house has such great privacy, and we took full advantage of the back yards and hot tub area. We actually got our dinner as takeout the second night because there's no restaurant that could have beat the atmosphere we had on our back patio. The apartment has plenty of room for what we needed and we found the kitchen and dining rooms to be very comfortable. The areas of Kenwood and Glen Ellen actually have more wineries than the town of Sonoma and we packed in as many as we could, and it was so convenient having everything right there. We also walked to the Olive Oil Shop right next door which is a must see. Overall, great place and I will definitely be back! Thank you!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I stayed in the apartment for three nights after Christmas as a romantic getaway. We absolutely loved it. The apartment is perfect for a couple. It's immaculate and has all the amenities you would want. Not to mention the proximity to wineries, small restaurants, and the best breakfast place in the town of Glen Elen (a few miles away). I can't remember the name, but the property owner lives nearby and knows it well. We rented mountain bikes and visited several wineries (St. Francis is the best in my opinion). The deck is perfect for enjoying the fruits of our labor along with the hot tub for recovery. We spent one afternoon mountain biking since there is a great trail about 2 miles away. The owners are incredibly nice and helpful and are a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this place. My wife and I are already planning to be back next December.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had five people staying Sept. 11-14 at the house and the only word for our stay was "perfect". The photos on the web site don't do the home justice and having a tasting room a pitching wedge away was wonderful. Marilyn and Jon were very helpful and informative and they kept their secret weapon, their son, who lives nearby, under wraps until we needed him and he was a great source for local restaurant recommendations and personal needs. Thank you for Citi Cafe and for the back porch where many naps happened after a day of wine tasting and hot tubbing. When I grow up I want to be a weatherman in Sonoma, every day is sunny and 80 degrees in Sept. I cannot recommend this house enough for a relaxing, pleasant, well located vacation. PS. WE WILL BE BACK!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This is the perfect wine country location. Convenient to all wineries and Sonoma County towns. Stayed here with another couple and the apartment/main house set-up was perfect. The grounds are beautiful and were the ideal setting for great wine, great food, and great conversation. Would definitely stay here again. Furnishing are up-to-date and impeccably clean.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We recently rented the home and apartment for my daughters 21st birthday. The home's living space is large and open which makes it perfect for entertaining family and friends. Spent a lot of time outside enjoying the large yards, decks and hot tub! It was hard to leave but I am sure we will rent the home again soon!Did you find this review helpful? What a perfect vacation rental and location. The home is beautiful, very comfortable and well maintained. Everything was beautiful...from the linens to the dishes, to the furnishings, to the lovely patio areas. We spent so much time in the morning and evening in the backyard. The location is ideal for touring wineries...as there are many in the area. We rented the whole house...if we were to come out by ourselves, the apartment is ideal. Spacious and the use of the backyard. We will recommend to friends. Thank you for a wonderful vacation home...we will return. Last week we hosted a women's financial group on the property for dinner and discussion. Comments were " This is a great place to have for a weekend for my book group. It feels so spacious: everyone can find a place to be quiet and yet it has several perfect places to get together at times for discussions." "The furnishings are wonderful. I'm going to come back with just my husband for a romatic get-a-way." "The location is awesome- this is in the heart of some of the most beautiful country in the world and yet close to so much to do." It was a wonderful evening and most of it was spend under the grape arbor. M. GoehringDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
