  If you want to get away from it all, this is a far better place than any hotel in Galveston The unit is exquisitely furnished with a view of the Gulf and a great patio with couches and a table providing an outside living environment and it is in a complex with an infinity pool and a fitness center. The unit provides extras you need to stay including paper towels, some coffee to get started (which we replaced) , cooking supplies and a huge kitchen to use. The owners have provided their wifi passwords and ids so that your computer can be used if you absolutely have to bring it. There is room outside for children (and even adults) to play and a short walk gets you down to the beach which is usually uninhabited--something not seen in Galveston proper. The owners were wonderful and provided excellent directions since we were arriving late at night. They also were available to answer questions during our stay. The condo and area provide an environment that reminds one of an exotic island without all the hassles of getting there. We extended our stay on this trip and we would go back to this unit when we need to get away in a nanosecond. Having found this place, we won't be staying in Galveston hotels again! One suggestion would be to stock up on food and what you think you will need at Walmart or Kroger in Galveston on your way out to the unit. We found that once we got there it was so great that we did not want to go back to town to get supplies! When we did go back, it only confirmed we had made absolutely the right choice of area and condo unit to stay in.

  Nice place to stay to get away. Its quiet and our family loves it. This is our 2nd year in this condo and Love it... We will be back next year!

  We went Friday through Monday this past weekend and had a great time. The weather wasn't great the first day but luckily we all took naps and relaxed while it poured. The condo has everything you need and more. We didn't look for anything and not find it. There were even things like salt and peper and a coffee grinder! We had brought coffee grounds with us just in case but next time we'll just bring the beans. Oh and there were games in the kids room and books that my daugther LOVED to explore. The location was awesome - short walk to the beach and pool. Much better than the house units which you would have to drive to get to the beach club. It was super nice being able to just walk it instead. It was a pretty good drive into Galveston but we only did it at night for dinner and then to do something in town and drove back home after. During the day we were at the beach or pool so it was fine. The only thing to be aware of is the surrounding "rooms." I'm a light sleeper so always travel with earplugs but my husband had a hard time off and on. The condo above us was occupied for 2 days and they were SO LOUD and it sounded like elephants stomping around. My daughter was woken up from her nap one day so we turned the radio on at night to try to drown it out for her. That really would be my only complaint but not too much you can do about it except hope for small visitors above you.

• Beautiful condo!

  This Pointe West property was a great pick for the 5 adults and 2 teenagers in my traveling party who made a very quick trip to Galveston from Austin. The condo and its amenities are upscale and well-maintained. It even has an elevator and a chute for your trash just outside the front door. The owners have stocked the condo with beach play items including a 4 wheel cart. The large covered patio faces the ocean and gives ample room for dining or relaxing on chairs or couches. Lighted, covered parking below the residential floors provides security and protection for your vehicle, and it makes it much easier to load or unload supplies. We visited the Lazy River pool on the Bay side of the development one afternoon after doing the beach during the first part of the day. That evening, we traveled into Galveston to eat at Shrimp & Stuff, followed by a trip to the newly opened Pleasure Pier for the kids. They really enjoyed it. In retrospect, we would probably have bought tickets at Pleasure Pier early in the day (they are all-day tickets), and gone on to do other things in Galveston, and then returned with their wristbands on to spend more time at Pleasure Pier in the evening. Having your own washer and dryer at the condo is wonderful because you can keep everyone's clothing ready to go and sand-free so you don't have to pack as many clothes. The owners of the condo are extremely easy to work with and very accommodating. We would highly recommend this condo for a fabulous Galveston Island beach vacation!

  We spent 3 days in Galveston and really enjoyed the condo. It has a nice view of the ocean from the porch. It is an easy walk to the beach. The condo was exactly as depicted in the pictures. Very nice and comfortable.

  This is a beautiful condo has all of the comforts of home, especially the spacious living areas and the super comfortable beds! We especially love the huge deck with a beautiful view of the ocean and lots of comfortable seating for family get togethers. The beach is never crowded and we enjoyed lots of pool time at the Beach Club. We love that we could reserve the grills at the pool for cook-outs. Everything is very well maintained. The pictures that are provided reflect exactly how this condo looks. I especially appreciate the owners. They were very accommodating and always promptly responded to my questions. We highly recommend staying here!

  We had a great time. The condo was AWESOME...it's so equipped for traveling guests. It had a great beachy feel and the owners were SO nice and easy to work with. The beachview was nice and it was very peaceful at Pointe West.We spent much of our time on the shaded patio eating, playing games and watching the waves. Our children (ages 5, 3, 1) loved the pools and all there is to do in Galveston. The new Pleasure Pier is worth the money. It is clean and the employees are very friendly. The only drawback, which obviously is no one's fault, is the seaweed. We were totally grossed out by the huge amounts of seaweed everywhere. I was told that it is specific to Galveston in June...who knew? Other than the seaweed, the beaches were clean and very beautiful blue water. We will be coming back to this condo next year...probably not in June :)

  This place has everything to offer for having a great time: an extremely comfortable condo with all the amenities including AMAZINGLY comfortable beds and views; a fully functioning kitchen, laundry, furnished balcony, and large comfortable bedrooms; a vast beach, and two pools one with an ocean view and one with a bay side view. This condo, and the resort, are sure to please anyone visiting the Galveston area!

  We just returned from our family vacation at this condo. It was wonderful. We had grandma, us, teenagers, and a toddler. Everyone enjoyed the stay. There were lots of movies and games to choose from. The condo is beautiful; great kitchen, living area, and all the bedrooms were comfortable. There were 7 of us and we had plenty of room. We all LOVED the deck with the view of the ocean. We spent time at the beach club, using the grill one night to cook out our own food and enjoyed dinner by the pool. We spent a couple of mornings at the lazy river on the bay side. The kids loved it. There is a lot more shade at the lazy river. We enjoyed an afternoon at the beach. The only down side was the seaweed-there was lots of it. But....the we still enjoyed the waves, played in the water and sand, looked for shells, and took walks along the beach. I was concerned that the kids woud get bored with swimming, but there were enough different placed to go that they always enjoyed it. Lots of fun. The over all experience was great and the condo is wonderful!

• Great Family Beach Getaway!

  My family and I were looking for a last minute getaway to the beach and this exceeded all of our expectations. The condo is beautiful with great beach and bay views from the balconies. It is nicely decorated and has all the conveniences of home (washer/dryer, dishwasher, coffee maker, etc.). The grounds at Point West are well kept and the private beach was freshly cleaned of any seaweed. The beach was also a lot less crowded than others in the area. There are even plenty of sidewalks/paths for a morning run or for the kids to ride their bikes. We definitely will plan another trip here in the future!
