CLASSIC MEDITERRANEAN STYLE
Recently restored 1920’s bungalow offers charm and comfort of a Mediterranean retreat within easy access of Berkeley's prime destinations. The modern Art Deco décor is clean, relaxed and sunlit with period narrow-plank oak floors, French patio doors, decks in lush gardens, and intriguing artifacts from a professor’s international travels. Designer lighting creates an elegant evening ambiance. Built-in speakers and high-quality stereo infuse the house with music. Cable television and Wifi Internet connects you to the world.

COMFORTS OF HOME
Each bedroom hosts a double bed (extra-long in Master Bedroom) and cedar closet. The Master Bedroom features a down comforter and antique dresser. The second bedroom includes a desk, television, and bookshelf full of interesting reads. The clean tiled bathroom offers a spacious shower, upscale fixtures and fully-stocked towels and linens.

A COOK’S KITCHEN & DIVERSE DINING OPTIONS
A fully-equipped, spacious kitchen celebrates the joy of cooking with warm cypress countertops, gas range, high-quality cookware, and European pottery. Breakfast in the cozy, sunlit nook adjacent to wide patio doors, entertain in the formal dining room, or relax on the deck with built-in seating and both gas and charcoal grills. Our famous grocery mecca, the Berkeley Bowl, is just around the corner with its amazing array of fresh vegetables, meats, fish and wine. Alternatively, a myriad of restaurant options lie within walking distance. Kirala, a local Japanese favorite, is merely steps away.

THE GARDEN
The warm, sunny front patio is surrounded by a lush, fragrant garden. A spacious backyard deck includes a glass-top table and wood benches for relaxing with drinks or a full-on barbecue (gas or charcoal). Secured by an eight-foot fence, the backyard garden is a private sanctuary. A flagstone pathway leads to a stone patio and bench surrounded by trees and flowers. Statuary, garden structures, specimen trees and flowers punctuate the scene. Enjoy a refreshing outdoor shower behind the privacy of a thick jasmine hedge.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Walk in any direction and you’ll soon hit a classic Berkeley destination. Within just five blocks of the house: Kirala’s highly-rated Japanese restaurant, Sconehenge’s hearty diner-style breakfasts, Crixa Cakes Eastern-European bakery and coffee, Reel Videos amazing collection of independent films, Willard Park tennis courts, pool and great lawn, the famous Berkeley Bowl, the fireside ambiance of the Bateau Ivre café, Yoga Mandala studio for inspired yoga classes and massage, Looking Glass Photographic supply, Tuesday Farmer’s Market on Derby Street, Sunday brunch at the Thai Temple, authentic Mexican meals at Taqueria La Familia or an everday pitstop for coffee at Mudraker’s café, drugstore needs at Walgreens or quick takeout at Andronico’s grocery. The centrally located block is steps away from vibrant cultural destinations, yet remains a very quiet, tranquil residential retreat.
