Southern Shores is a charming 2800 square foot home decorated for comfort and pleasure. It accommodates 14 guests with 5 bedrooms and 5 and a half baths. It offers a beautifully furnished private master bedroom suite upstairs, with gulf and bay views, and sleeps four (king bed and sleeper sofa)and has its own private balcony. It also has a large, private sitting area with a TV, VCR, and DVD player, and a small kitchenette with a beverage refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave. The master bath is oversized with a Jacuzzi tub and private toilet area.
There is a bunk room upstairs that sleeps four with its own private bath. Downstairs are another master bedroom with a brass king size bed, a charming queen bedroom, and a lovely bedroom with two twin beds, each with its private bathroom. There are a total of 5 TVs, and 3 DVD/VCRs in the home.
There are Gulf views from the enormous family room and lots of comfortable, overstuffed furniture, including 2 sleeper sofas. The open kitchen and dining room (also with gulf views) make an ideal setting for families to mix and mingle. This great cook's kitchen has granite countertops and a huge island with four barstools. The large oak dining table can seat up to 14 people.
The entertainment center is filled with classic and current family-friendly games, movies, books, and magazines to ensure a fun-filled week for everyone.
On-site amenities include 2 large swimming pools, tennis court/basketball court and a private neighborhood gazebo just across from Southern Shores, all for residents only.
Southern Shores is a beautiful, well-appointed home located in the new 35 home private Gulf-side neighborhood, Heritage Shores. We are uniquely situated between the dazzling white sands of the Gulf of Mexico and the idyllic views of Mobile Bay, and are just steps away from the beach. Nearby are world class golf courses, Bon Secour Nature Preserve, Fort Morgan (175 year old fort played the central role in the Battle of Mobile Bay during the War Between the States, and was in active duty during the Spanish American War and World Wars I and II), and lots of shopping. Many great restaurants featuring local favorites are nearby.

- Cooking Utensils Provided: With a true "cook's kitchen", Southern Shores provides great cutlery, stainless steel and Calphalon cookware, all appliances and kitchen gadgets, ample serve ware, and place settings for 24. There is a wide selection of glassware for specialty drinks.
- Refrigerator: The refrigerator has a water and ice dispenser. There is a separate ice maker in the island capable of making 20 pounds of ice a day.

- Charcoal BBQ Grill: The charcoal grill is located on the ground floor. Grilling is a pleasure near the flower and herb garden while looking at the Gulf.
- Balcony: Southern Shores has three separate balconies with seating. The front balcony also features a bar height table and chairs for watching tennis and looking at the Gulf of Mexico. The two back balconies (one covered) are great for watching the Gulf and the Bay, and for watching spectacular sunsets.
- Gazebo: A gazebo-type clubhouse with a sink and food preparation area in the community is great for large get togethers.

- Southern Shores is located near the west end of the Fort Morgan Peninsula which is well known for its history, natural trails and marine treasures. The site of Fort Morgan is 3 miles west of Southern Shores. 175 years old, the fort was the focus of the Battle of Mobile Bay, August 5, 1864, and was also an active garrison during the Spanish American War and World Wars I and II. Next to the fort is Mobile Bay Ferry landing, boat ramp and pier. Launch your boat or fish off the pier. Leave your car at the landing and ride the ferry (walk-ons are $5.00 round trip with children under 12 free) over to Dauphin Island where Fort Gaines and the Dauphin Island Estuarium are within short walking distance. The Fort Morgan peninsula also hosts the National Bon Secour Wildlife refuge with 7,000 acres of protected woodlands, wetlands and beach. Walk trails to the beach or Mobile Bay and see Alabama’s coastal wildlife and beautiful wetland scenes. There are ten bird watching sites on the Peninsula.

Thank you for such a wonderful place for a family vacation. We have taken family vacations before, but have never found the perfect place to stay altogether, until now. This was a great house to spend a week at the beach while enjoying each other's company. With five small kiddos running around we found everything we could possibly need and then some. The kids loved the bunk beds and sitting at the big table playing card games. The week was beautiful weather and we all enjoyed our days going from the pool to the beach and then back here for family dinners. We will definitely be back!

The first family vacation for us! We have all had a wonderful time at this house. We loved the well-stocked kitchen, and have certainly gotten full use out of the washer/dryer and dishwasher. The opportunity for all of us to relax and unwind was well needed and enjoyed. We enjoyed lots of laughs with dinners here and out on the town (esp. Tacky Jacks.) Could we have had any more shrimp? The games were also a lot of fun. We were glad to see the zoo. The beach was fabulous. We will leave here with fond memories of dolphins and excellent waves.

This was a perfect setting for our family get-together for the Thanksgiving holiday. The house is just beautiful! We loved the spacious living room, dining room, and kitchen! And private bathrooms for all the bedrooms! So glad you had an ice maker! The house is furnished so nicely! The Christmas tree was beautiful-such a nice touch! This Thanksgiving will go down in our memory banks as one of the most memorable because of all the extas this place offers.
