GARDEN STUDIO
Secluded in the back yard with your own private entrance the Garden Studio offers a special privacy not found often in the city. Surrounded on three sides by neighboring back yards it is a very private, quiet and restful location.
You will enjoy all the fine craftsmanship of a style unique to the Hawthorne neighborhood.
From the sleeping loft with Library ladder access to the wonderfully tiled shower no detail is left unattended. There is a Remote controlled Sky Light letting the outside into the Studio. Old world stained glass windows in the interior partitions let the natural light flood into every corner of the Studio. Small but, fully furnished the kitchen includes all you will need plus a full sized Washer and Dryer.
You will surely agree that this small Studio seem much larger due to its efficient design.
The Studio includes 2 Patios; a large front patio 10X22 Covered with a clear awning, a smaller back patio 4X22 also with a clear awning.
All dish ware, linens and general household items needed during your stay are provided. Also, for your convenience we have; color TV with "On Demand cable", free High Speed Wireless Internet access, DVD, fully equipped gourmet kitchen complete with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, are all located in our rental. We offer a child friendly home. Provided are a Play-n-Pac, high chair, toys/books, large fenced garden space and generous covered patio area with a clear roof.
This Garden Studio residence is located blocks away from the Hawthorne Boulevard as well as the new and fun up and coming Belmont area. Hawthorne is lined with locally-owned coffee shops, antique stores, cafes, and trendy clothing shops, many with a bohemian flavor reminiscent of the 70's. Belmont is lower key but offers it's own unique style. Enjoy the many popular restaurants and pubs, which offer sidewalk seating or wander among the tree lined neighborhoods where the bungalow and craftsman homes have been restored to there natural beauty.
Portland is very pedestrian and bike friendly. The home is located 1/2 blocks from a small play structure at the local middle school. 8 blocks away you will find Laurelhurst Park, within 13 blocks is MT Tabor. The interior of Laurelhurst Park park is defined by a large pond, complete with cruising ducks and turtles. The walking paths that snake through the landscape make for great wandering, with plenty of benches and nooks to drop down and picnic. For more hiking and adventuring MT Tabor has miles of trails through wooded areas and around the many turn of the century reservoirs. At the top of MT Tabor is arguably the best view of the city, a sunset from this vantage is not to be missed.
Our home is strictly non-smoking, no pets. There is a 2 night minimum required for all advance reservations. A (1 or 2) night rental + cleaning fee may be considered based upon availability when booked within 5 days of arrival. |
