I will be honest, it is very relaxing, the wind coming off the bay and sitting under/on the porch at night, was awesome. My two youngest (5 and 7) had a very hard time staying out of the pool! The canal was good for fishing when the tide was in. Just didn't work to my advantage, cause it was in, when I wanted to be sleeping! Only two bad things that I will say about this place, and maybe someone mentioned one of them before and I missed it, but the stairs between floors are external. Not that big of a deal for older kids and adults. But it did give me a little apprehension with my wondering 5 yr old. Thankfully though it was more our worry than actuality. The other was lack of internet service. Tmobile phones weren't working for data and there was no Wifi (but I don't think that was listed anyhow). Everything else that we needed was there. Plenty of dishes, cooking utensils, pots and pans were there (just a little smaller than the comforts of home ones), towels, etc. I was worried about mosquitos, but during the day was fine, at night under/on the deck was fine. On the pier at night however, they were ready to get you! If you are looking for a get away from it all type place, this will definitely do it!

CHARMING AND RELAXING
CHARMING AND RELAXING
We are a family of four from the UK and stayed here for three nights as part of our Southern States road trip. Camp Paw Paw was ideal for our short stay and we made full use of the pool and the pretty garden. The location is so peaceful and quiet and the locals were very friendly. We had sufficient space for two adults and two teenagers and our son enjoyed the self-contained apartment/rooms downstairs. We would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a relaxing break.

Camp Paw Paw is a HIT!
Camp Paw Paw is a HIT!
We just spent our annual girl's weekend at Camp Paw Paw and had a fabulous time. It was perfect for what we were looking for - sun, pool, relaxing - even did some fishing off of the pier. Had great mexican food in town with a couple of ice cold adult beverages. We will be back next year!

Loved this place, took my grandkids and we had a blast, only bad thing I can say is I wish the pier was longer so we could fish. The A/C could have run colder but it is really an awesome place especially for families. We have stayed at the other property also it was great and does have the longer pier but not the pool. I would definitely come back again.

Camp Paw Paw a great tradition for us!
Camp Paw Paw a great tradition for us!
Took the grandkids and our disabled son and had a blast at this little cottage. The upstairs was our main place as it has a full kitchen and large living room area. Our only complaint ... no comfy chairs to sit in up stairs in the main room. The pool was perfect, the kids had fun chasing crabs on the little pier, and the town was great. It was also a photographers dream place...sunrise with shrimp boats...wow! There is a Super S that has everything you need, a great oriental cafe, fantastic Taco Hut down town, a real shaved ice snow cone stand on the main drag, fun re-sale shop with great buys, good little book store and beautiful piers with manicured lawns. There is also a place heading North out of town that sells farm raised catfish and shrimp...ask for directions it is worth it as the catfish is the best we have ever had and the shrimp we saw were gorgeous. If you want to experience the Texas Coast in a great family cabin, go to Palacios and stay here. I grew up in Rockport, Texas and Palacios has what Rockport used to have....quiet...pretty...coastal experiences. We have already made more reservations and plan on making it a tradition...thanks Palacios! Kennedy's in Goliad
