Private Homes house description
Our beautiful island home is the perfect place to relax. The eastern view from the large front picture window is of a lush conservation area where incredible sunrises will greet you as you start your day.
The spectacular view out the back is of the large 15' x 30' in ground heated pool and the beautiful lake that is full of wildlife! Watch turtles, many varieties of birds and more animals as you relax poolside. The pool can be accessed from the master bedroom, the dining room, the family room (which is connected to the kitchen) and a guest bedroom. In the evening you can also watch the sunset over the lake behind our home.
Our home has been completely remodeled from the inside out. The fully equipped kitchen has new granite counter tops, cabinets, ceramic tile and stainless steel appliances. There is even a granite pass through window from the kitchen to the patio for al fresco dining.
The master bath and guest bath have been completely remodeled with ceramic tile and granite counter tops. All of the bedrooms have also been updated. There are four bedrooms that will sleep 8 and a pull out sofa will sleep 2 in the family room off of the kitchen.
The home is all on one level and offers easy accessibility for everyone. The 2 car garage is attached.
We also have 4 adult bikes and 5 children's bikes for our guests to use. One of the children's bikes does have training wheels and we also have a bike trailer for children.
The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation, Ding Darling Wildlife Sanctuary and the new Sanibel Recreation Center are all less than a mile away by car or bike.
Most importantly, the BEACH is a short walk away with private access. Even during the busiest times on the island, the beach at the end of the access, is never crowded. There are no big resorts on the beach by the access, only private homes. The shelling is amazing! Many treasures to be found! We have beach toys, beach chairs, beach towels and pool toys for our guests to use along with a large beach cart that is perfect for taking items to the beach!
You will love this home if you are looking for a place to stay that is extremely private and quiet with beautiful views and exceptional amenities.

Our Sanibel "Home Away From Home"
Our Sanibel "Home Away From Home"
Like several of the other posters, we have liked this home so much we have vacationed here for 4 years now. The house is very easy to live in. It suits all our needs as a home away from home. The house has a very open feeling and the floor plan makes it comfortable for another couple to share the home with us. The guest wing is on the opposite end of the house from the master bedroom so everyone has their own space. When kids and grandkids arrive, the arrangement makes it easy to accommodate them too. We confirm all the positive comments from the other posters. The pool is large and the screened in area (pool cage/lanai) is big enough so you don’t feel crowded. It makes a great outside room that we virtually live in with the wonderful weather that Sanibel has. I think we ate all but a couple of meals out there during our last stay. Even though the house is on a busy road, you feel very private with the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation property across the road and a small lake in the backyard. We see so much wildlife from the lanai we call the area our own “Ding Darling, Jr.” The owners maintain the property well and are very pleasant and easy to work with. We love the location in the West Gulf area, away from the traffic and congestion of Periwinkle Rd and the beaches further east. The beach is never crowded. We are one mile from “Ding Darling, Sr.” the National Wildlife Refuge. We visit it 3-4 times a week at least, often biking over and then biking all or part of the biking area there. At sunset it is difficult to decide whether to go to the beach or the Refuge. Both are gorgeous views! Sanibel is a very special place and this house and its location contribute to our enjoyment of the island.

Many Happy Returns
Many Happy Returns
This fall will be our 4th time vacationing in this home. The house is well equipped & maintained inside & out. It's always been clean on our arrival with no problems. The beds are even comfortable. The owners are very nice people and have answered our questions immediately, which have been few. The pool is just wonderful, you can sit out by the pool and see all kinds of water fowl in the lake behind the house. The home is in a quiet neighborhood with only neighbors on your left and right, none across or behind you. The shelling nearby is excellent, Sanibel is known for it's many bike trails and the owner's provide the bikes. Restaurants and shopping are near with just a short drive. Everyone should visit J. N. Ding Darling Wildlife Sanctuary, my husband loves to fish there.

A Slice of Paradise
A Slice of Paradise
After 4 years of renting this property I would recommend it without hesitation. The home is large, well maintained, and the owners are responsive to suggestions for improvement. The beautiful beach is a five minute walk and the main road with all the restaurants and shopping is only a few minute drive from this home. The huge screened in area has a heated pool, tons of pool and beach equipment, a bar-b-que, a dining table and access to a bathroom from the pool area. There are also bicycles of various sizes which is a perfect mode of transportation for getting around. There are walking/biking paths around the island so you don't have to worry about traffic. Sanibel is a unique place, a slice of Paradise. It is extremely laid-back, easy to get around, great restaurants, fun shopping, lots of nature-based activities, and two movies showing weekly. Even if the weather is on the cooler side you can still have a great time, with tons to do. If you love to go shelling, this is the perfect place for you.

Although this was not our first time on Sanibel, it was our first time renting a house for a month. This home was perfect for our family of 6. The pool was fantastic. The house was maintained very nicely. I can't begin to say how lovely and peaceful it was to stay on the island for a month, in this beautiful home! There is a bit of a walk to the beach, but it was made much easier by the wagon provided. Warning: watch out for the mosquitos on the trail to the beach. After rainy days, they swarm! Loved that the bikes were provided for us. We spent a lot of time on the bikes. We would most definitely stay here again!

My family and I stayed here a year ago and we loved it so much and it was so perfect for us that we came back again this year. It is truly a home away from home feeling. It had everything we needed. Plenty of bikes for everyone, a short walk to the beach and the pool was perfect. The owners have been great, answered our questions and responded to us promptly. The home was in great shape - like new. So nice - we stayed twice! We are already considering this for our getaway again next year!
