We had such a great time. the condo was perfect location and just the right size for us and visiting friends every few days. We had a BBQ one night and catered meal....they did it on the patio and used everything in the loft. 30 people fit easily. after everyone left, my wife an I had went to bed and it was so quiet and comfortable, despite being in the center of the city. Every day we went to a different restauraunt with in walking distance from the Loft. We walked to the river front, went bike riding at forest hills....all close by. It was a great departure from NYC to be in PDX in the summer. The thirty days passed quickly. And the rates were fantastic. Joe and Rod , met us, had drinks and the best hosts, they brought us oregon wines, nuts and made us feel at home.

I just returned from a week stay at this condo and I have nothing but praises! First of all, the home is beautiful! LOVE LOVE LOVE the decor! The exposed brick was warm and inviting. It was exactly as pictured and it was also very clean. There were three of us and we all had plenty of room and then some. The best part is that you can walk to everything! We ate out for lunch and dinner each day and found many great places just a few blocks away. Joseph and Rod, the owners were so wonderful and helpful. They gave us so many great tips on the area to make our stay in more enjoyable. I know we will be back and I am certainly going to tell all of my friends how perfect this place is! Honestly, I can say this was THE BEST VRBO place we have ever stayed at hands down! Thanks for an amazing stay and for all of your kindness!!

To all readers: We rented the LOFT for 1 Month. In short, WE LOVED IT. Our family experience of downtown Portland was incredible. Our kids got exposed to big city urban life and really enjoyed it. There is no better location for access to restaurants, museums, markets, the university, shopping, cultural events, gym. Rod and Joe are great hosts! The Loft has everything you need to stay a day, a month, 3 months or even a year. We loved the Patio exposure for access to cool air in the morning or evening while cooking. The Barista across the street has great coffee, there is near sushi, parks, dry cleaning service etc. We would rent this loft again, and again if Portland was our destination.

Good: The location is fantastic. The open loft with kitchen, dining, and living areas was spacious, comfortable and well set-up and decorated. The kitchen was enjoyable to cook in. Bad: The condo sleeps fewer people than we expected. I do not know exactly where they expect the 6 people they advertise to sleep. There is one bedroom, with a queen bed. There is another room which has a pull-out couch. It is misleading to say that there are "2 bedrooms" and also to say that there is a "second living area" when the second living area and second bedroom are one and the same. I would say that it sleep 4 max, considering that the couch upstairs doesn't pull out and wouldn't be very comfortable to sleep on. Also, as we left we accidentally neglected to put the keys in the appropriate spot. The owners then kept our entire substantial damage deposit due to the "inconvenience" and were rude when we objected. On the whole we would not recommend.

Owner response:This renter requested the unit for herself. She arrived with more people than allowed under her rental contract. More than allowed ever. Although there were two bedrooms and another area described with photons in the add, she some how expected more. She and the others did not vacate the property as per contract, they left with the keys that were used by our cleaning people. They left their luggage in the unit beyond contract agreement with out communication. All in all, it was the first bad experience for us as owners. Also the first time we allowed responding to rental experience. It resulted in 3 extra trips from out of town to the loft to get the unit ready and cleaned. She falsified the number of people staying, and gave the keys that should have been in the lock box to friends. She took no responsibility for her actions. Although I preferred not to respond to this complaint, so many people have asked about her complaint, that this response is given. Please note all the information regarding, bedding, rooms, square footage, location, parking and the rest are as per described. If you have any questions regarding layout, location or amenities please ask. And note that she said, "the location is fantastic."
