This rental had all the EXTRAS that soothed us at the end of long days of sightseeing: specialty soap in bath, fine linen and down duvets on beds, lovely decor. The unit was spotlessand looked like it was newly renovated, too. The host family was very pleasant and available to help us but not intrusive. Location is wonderful-one block to Golden Gate Park, one to public transportation. Cole Valley neighborhood is full of great eateries such as CHOW and has many bakeries at which you can grab breakfast on the go. A short walk to the Haight area, too. WiFi access was a bonus. A perfect rental! Hope to return in 2010. Many thanks to Pam!!

We had a wonderful stay. It was convenient to stores, cafes, and the train. We were also so very close to our daughter and family which was so nice. We enjoyed that we had a key pad rather than a key. The apt. Was super. The kitchen was wonderful and easy to use. The bed was very comfy. The living area provided enough space for the kids to visit us,too. Overall a super place to stay for us. We hope it is available when we go back.

My wife and I, along with our cocker spaniel, lived here from March - mid June (2011). If you're considering a stay in SF, you cannot miss here. We spent 100 nights here and it truly became our home. We liked it so much that, if we come back to SF again next year, we will be staying here once again. That's really the best endorsement we can give! Like us, when you look for a place on the site, I'd imagine you will want the place to be clean, comfortable, quiet, safe and easy to get around the city. This apt has all of that... we never heard noise or disturbances staying for over 100 nights, the box spring/matress is brand new as of March and the apt was very clean when we moved in. All of the appliances work perfectly from the cable tv (including DVR), stove, oven, microwave, toaster, hot water in the shower, etc etc. As for safety, we never had an issue whatsoever, even walking our dog late at night, we always felt completely safe. As for convenience, the fact that you are 2 blocks from Golden Gate park to me was the greatest benefit of the location. The 20+ restaurants and other key places (bank, drugstore etc) right down the street on Irving is also ideal. Like other little neighborhoods around SF, the Irving St area has it all very conveniently for you just a few blocks away. MAKE SURE you visit the Arizmendi bakery on 9th and Irving... it's generally considered the best in SF. In addition, the Muni literally stops right at the corner and will take you wherever you want to go. For parking, ask Sean and Pam about the garage. Speaking of Sean and Pam, they are terrific people and we became friends. Even if your stay is short, you will appreciate the professional way theyh handle the arrnagements and their helpful nature (with any issues with your stay or recommendations about where to go/what to see). When making an arrangement on VRBO, you want to feel comfortable you are dealing with decent trustworthy people on the other end. You are here, that's for certain. Overall, we both give our wholehearted recommendation for Sean and Pam's apt. We would certainly send our own families and friends here if they were looking for a non-hotel experience. Enjoy SF!

Great apartment in an excellent neighbourhood

My wife and I rented this apartment on two separate occasions (March-April 2009 and April 2010). The first time was for a holiday, the second time was when we came to San Francisco to get married. On both visits we found the apartment to be the perfect base for our stay. Inner Sunset is a great neighbourhood with good bars (we liked Yancy's best), good restaurants (especially Villa Romana), shops, cafes and easy access to Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach and the city centre/embarcadero/ball park via the MUNI. All the facilities in the apartment are excellent: comfortable bed and sofa, nice bathroom (with heated toilet seat), kitchen etc. The balcony/decking area is a great spot to watch the sun set too. In addition to having a lovely apartment, Pam and Sean are extremely gracious hosts, not to mention very helpful in a crisis. On our second stay, we ended up stranded because of the Icelandic ash cloud and literally had nowhere to go and no way to get home. Pam and Sean went out of their way to help us, allowing us to stay for an extra few days until we found a hotel. They even let us use their own apartment on the day we eventually left as new people were moving into the holiday apartment that morning. You couldn't ask to meet two nicer people. San Francisco remains our favourite place in the world and a lot of that has to do with the Inner Sunset neighbourhood and the great times we've had staying in this apartment. Recommended. Things worth doing in Inner Sunset: Go for an early morning run on the athletics track at Kezar Stadium Take a short walk into Golden Gate Park and visit the Japanese Tea Garden and the California Academy of Sciences Take the MUNI to Ocean Beach and watch the sun set Get the beers in at Yancy's and watch a ball game Have ice cream at the nearby Gelato shop (can't remember the name) Catch the MUNI from Irving Street to AT&T Park and watch the world champion San Francisco Giants play ball Have a pizza at Villa Romano (on Irving Street) Check out the regular farmer's markets

This property was tastefully decorated and designed, clean, well equipped with new kitchen and laundry appliances, supplied with clean linens and towels, stocked with books and DVD's, and much more. We were so pleasantly surprised to even see one of those hi-tech Japanese bidets, which my wife and I always wanted. I was so impressed with the spacious size and comfort of the facility, as well as the safe and conveniently located neighborhood, that I immediately called the owner the next morning after check-in to tell her how much we enjoyed her property. During our 4-day stay, we ended up telling 5 other people about this place. The only drawback is the street parking, but that's San Francisco for you. We were able to find parking on the block when we checked-in, but there were times when I drove around for 20 minutes looking for a space. We were OK with that, but if you're pressed for time, you may want to consider the garage space option.

a perfect rental

This was my first trip to SF and I really lucked out finding this place. I could tell by the pictures that it was well maintained, but when we walked in the door, I knew we had really found a wonderful place to stay. You can't find a place closer to the MUNI...1/2 block walk and you are headed anywhere in the city. We enjoyed getting to know the neighborhood, and the many great restaurants, bakeries and shops. We did meet the owners and they were so helpful and at the same time gave us our privacy, we had no major issues and would definitely recommend this place. We stayed for 10 days and really felt at home.

Excellent Inner Sunset In-law

We stayed in this lovely VRBO in July 2010. The apartment is very well-appointed, spacious and in an ideal location if you want to be walking distance to MUNI and ammenities, but away from downtown. Note that the Inner Sunset is in the fog belt so bring your layers - SF is COLD in the Summer! Also it is best to pay for parking if you plan on leaving your vehicle there for the day as street parking is 2 hours only from 9 - 6pm unless you have a residential permit. Finally this home was the perfect retreat at the end of a long day, but light/late sleepers should know that you can hear the owners walking on hardwoods overhead, weekdays as early as 7, and the heater is also quite loud. I can sleep through anything so wasn't an issue for me, but my husband wakes up easily and had a tougher time.

We loved the neighborhood--lots of great ethnic restaurants and close to Golden Gate Park's arboretum and Japanese garden as well as half a block from a major street car route. Not only that but the apartment was impeccably clean, comfortable, and lovely. What a find!

Beautiful space to come "home" to after a day exploring the many sites of San Francisco! Warm and cozy, with everything needed to make our stay enjoyable. Beautifully decorated,and so clean,with all of the comforts of home. I especially enjoyed the garden and private deck in the midst of the city.Wonderful place to read,meditate while savoring the scents of the Jasmine and other flowering plants in this peaceful sanctuary, Look forward to visiting again.
