Once a sleepy surf town, Playa Jacó is now the bustling commercial center for Costa Rica's Central Pacific Coast. An easy 10-minute drive south of Los Sueños Resort and Marina, Jaco's main street is home to a variety of boutiques, souvenir shops, banks, supermarkets, pharmacies and restaurants. The seven-kilometer dark sand beach is heavily frequented by surfers, backpackers and vacationing Costa Ricans. The party scene heats up at night, when a variety of establishments ranging from Latin-themed discotheques to laid back, American-style sports bars open their doors.

Los Suenos Marina is the home port for a fleet of over 30 licensed charter vessels that specialize in big game sport fishing. The waters off of the resort are considered one of the prime billfishing grounds in the world. Pacific sailfish are abundant, while large black and blue marlin are caught on a daily basis. Meat fish such as yellow-fin tuna, wahoo and dorado are plentiful year-round. In-shore fishing enthusiasts will have plenty of opportunities to try their luck at catching the spectacular roosterfish. In fact, specimens of up to 90 pounds have been caught in these waters!

Our family spent four days at this glorious home in June 2011, and it was like a fantasy. It all was even more beautiful than the pictures can tell. We felt so lucky to have found this wonderful place, and hope to return again soon. All the rooms were beautiful, clean, and so well taken care of. The linen closets were full of wonderful plush towels, the kitchen was so clean and well equipped, The grounds and convenience of restaurants, the beautiful pools, and the gorgeous marina, were breathtaking. Thank you for this opportunity to spend our vacation there. We will be back.
