Nestled among the whispering trees in the 20th century Chautauqua retreat called, Mount Gretna, awaits your perfect vacation getaway! Come and refresh your body, mind, and soul while relaxing on one of the largest decks in Mount Gretna. Relax with family and friends over a late night evening meal as the last of the sun's rays shimmer through the trees or rise with the sun and take an invigorating walk on the many mountain trails that surround Mount Gretna.

Mount Gretna was discovered in the late 1800's as a great place to spend a summer day. Today, Mount Gretna has become a place to escape the stress of modern life. It is a place known for a first rate playhouse, a juried art show, resident artisans, and an unhurried life.

This home, described by some, as the "best" in Mount Gretna captures the historic charm of the community, yet is fully modernized and furnished with two gas fireplaces, a bar, large deck, and central air. Our home has 4 bedrooms. The first floor master has a queen bed and private bathroom, with a tub/shower unit. There are three bedrooms on the second floor: 1 with a queen bed, another with 2 twin beds, and the third one with one twin bed. There is also a loft overlooking the library with a queen sleeper sofa. The second floor bathroom is equipped with a shower.

Enjoy a book from our library, or bring your own. Watch a movie or your favorite sports team on one of the 5 televisions within the home...or simply relax on the deck with Winston, our resident butler tortoise, and enjoy nature's peace and tranquility. From its location on a private cul-de-sac, you are only steps away from The famous Jigger Shop and Playhouse, and the town park. With the quiet streets through Mount Gretna, you and your children can easily and safely walk or bike throughout the historic town.

Spend a day on the sand "Beach" at the beautiful Mount Gretna Lake and Beach complete with canoes, a dock with swings, a water slide, and kayaks.

We rent our property from Friday to Friday. During the months of June, July, and August we only rent it by the week. We do not accept credit cards. A $250.00 security deposit is due within 10 days of booking the reservation. Full payment is due 14 days prior to arrival, by check or money order.
Bed sheets and bath towels are not included in the price of the rental. If you need us to provide these, there is a $50 charge for this service. Bed spreads, blankets, and pillows are provided for your use.

  • Terrific vacation rental - the photos do not do this property justice. It is much bigger than it appears, and has every amenity anyone could ask for . Daphne - the owner - worked with us when our check didn't arrive (it's still lost somewhere in our wonderful Postal system) and could not have been better to work with. We will definitely stay there on our next visit to PA Dutch Country - central to everything! Home is impecably clean and welcoming.

  • What a beautiful home-we had an absolutely wonderful experience here. It was much more than expected and so beautifully decorated. It was such a relaxing trip-really enjoyed the large deck. We would definately rent this again in the future.
