A picturesque summer day of the pier and lake, viewed from the porch.
Location: Tahoe Pines, Lake Tahoe West Shore CA, Lake Tahoe California, California, USA (Between Homewood & Sunnyside; 6 miles south of Tahoe City) View Map
Accommodations: Estate, 4 Bedrooms + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 2 Baths (Sleeps 10)
Keywords: Lakefront Home
This is a Classic "Old Tahoe" lakefront house, with a private beach, pier and historical listing with Tahoe Historical Society. Knotty Pine interior throughout home infuses this spacious vintage lakefront with irresistible appeal and mountain charm. The house provides a very cozy feel, enhanced by the stone fireplace and wood-burning stove. An expansive lawn bordered by mountain daisies leads to your private beach and pier. Bring your canoe to the lake for some romantic evening paddles during the alpenglow sunsets!
A wrap around porch with antique outdoor furnishings and porch swings provides ample space for relaxation or entertaining. External power outlets and large side table will delight the breakfast cook - use the large griddle to create hearty mountain breakfasts on the front porch.
A modern kitchen includes virtually every imaginable utensil and amenity, with dishwasher & microwave. The four bedrooms include the master bedroom with a Queen bed and a single, the 'red room' with a double bed and a single, the 'dorm' with 4 single beds, and the 'maids room' with 1 double bed. Off the master bedroom is an adorable "Peter Rabbit" decorated nursery/child's room. There are two bathrooms and a washer & dryer are located in the storeroom/garage.
A rare historic home full of character, it offers a unique experience blending luxury, charm, and lakeside living.
The house is located far from the highway, not usually the case for lakefronts. The outdoor amenities include a new model gas barbecue as well as a Weber charcoal grill for whatever the cook dreams up. The lakeside lawn is ideal for croquet or badminton and the beach teak furniture allows for maximum enjoyment of the sensational views of the lake. Hiking or biking on trails leading to Sugar Pine Point to the south or to Tahoe City to the north make for all day outings.
Built in the late 1930's, the house is situated blocks away from the highway (somewhat unique for West Shore Lakefronts), and is a close neighbor to "Fleur du Lac." This is also known as the Kaiser Estate, built by San Francisco magnate, Henry Kaiser and was used as the setting for "The Godfather, Part II."
The house has satellite TV, stereo w/CD & Tape, DVD Player and Library and 2 VHS Tape players with a sound system indoors and outdoors. 2 buoys available in summer months.
