Five minutes away is the Olympic Park (home of the 2002 Winter Olympics) where you can learn to ski jump with the US Ski Team (and land in a pool of water), ride zip lines, bobsled rides or try the Olympic luge (at speeds up to 70 MPH). In the Winter, jump on the funicular, within walking distance, and enjoy the fresh powder slopes of The Canyons, one of the Country's largest Winter resorts. Known for long, wide open runs, the Canyons Mt. Resort is a favorite for beginners to advanced skiers/snowboarders. In addition, cross country skiing, ice skating, sledding, snowmobiling and sleigh rides are close by. For the young at heart, experience the Alpine Coaster -- one of the few roller coasters in the snow. Or take a romantic sleigh ride to a wonderful dinner at one of the high mountain yurts.
In the evening, enjoy fabulous dining throughout Park City; two of the nicest restaurants are located within walking distance. Or ride the Gondola to the top of the mountain for a wonderful meal and either hike back down or ride the gondola. Park City is home to the summer Art Festival (first weekend in August) and has many renown Art Galleries. In addition, music concerts and plays entertain year round at the Canyons (a walk away), Deer Valley, Eccles Center and on Main Street. There is lots of shopping, including the Tangier Outlet Mall ( a 5 minute drive) and the farmers market in the Canyon's parking lot.
