House was excellent, abslutely no complaints. The hosts meet me upon my arrival at the Apartment, was very courteous and helpful with all my questions, made sure i felt comfortable as if i was staying at my very own apartment. Thank you. They handle every aspect of my stay very professional, going the extra length to insure my guess had a comfortable stay. The apartment was very clean and quiet couldnt ask for more. I would recommend staying here to anyone at any time. I travel to NY every 2-3 months to visit family and friends. Tom & Marina are excellent hosts. Extremely accommodating. The house is very comfortable and comes equipped with all the "comforts of home". Easy off street parking. In addition to being close to my family, the location is in close proximity to restaurants and shopping. An easy commute to all attractions (including Manhattan). As a side note, it snowed 5" during my stay. Tom & Marina had the snow cleared early the next morning! Thank you for an excellent and comfortable stay. This is a great place to stay if you are planning to do some "touristy stuff" in the city. Cost is very reasonable, and you can easily get into Manhattan by subway in less than 45 minutes (sometimes as little as 30 minutes). The neighborhood is safe and not too "bustling" and there are some decent restaurant options. We had our two kids (7 and 11) with us and we had a couple nights where we got back to the Bronx late (once after midnight) and we always felt perfectly safe. Tom and Marina were very available to us, though we didn't need to interact much (because things are set up great - and everything was easy). I have used VRBO dozens of times, and this was one of my best experiences overall. 5 stars!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We spent Christmas visiting family and this place couldn't have worked out better! It had EVERYTHING we needed and more. The process from start to finish was flawless. Marina is very quick to respond to emails and they accept PayPal for deposits and final payment. This stay, because of the gracious hosts and their amazing accommodations, was one of our best using HomeAway. I was supposed to visit New York 11/1-11/5. Hurricane Sandy, decided to postpone my trip after speaking with family in New York. I cancelled two days prior to my arrival date. I felt terrible cancelling at the last minute, but Marina was extremely understanding and sympathetic to the situation. Family was without power and contacted Marina to take my spot. Some unforunate other residents of The Bronx grabbed the slot. Marina was nice enough to make suggestions for other properties. Thank you Marina for being so understanding and attempting to help my family. I am looking at traveling to New York March-April. This will be the place I will stay at!Owner response: Hurricane Sandy hit us all very hard. Fortunately our home was not affected and we were able to accommodate other guests in our area. We enjoyed staying at this house for a week while visiting family in the Bronx. It's a great choice--close to the train and easy commute to downtown Manhattan. Very clean, comfortable, safe, even parking in the back. Tom & Marina were terrific---all great reasons to choose this house instead of staying in the city. We loved it!Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.

Well what can I say. We stayed three weeks in Marina and Tom house and I can honestly say we had an absolutely fantastic time. We like to go on holiday, particularly as we were travelling from London and enjoy our stay. We have been to NY many times, and stayed in hotels and other apartments, but I can say that this house beats them all. Marina keeps the house clean, she is extremely welcoming, the layout is great for families and I would highly recommend this house to anyone wanting to stay in NY. The location is great as there are shops and restaurants, and travel facilities in the area which are friendly and welcoming and the transport is within walking distance of the house. We loved it here and would rent this house again. Marina and Tom, keep up the great work....and take care. This was our second stay with our family at this rental and it just gets better every time. This home is located in a friendly and safe neighborhood where the neighbors and merchants actually remembered us from our last visit! We had more time this year to spend exploring the merchants and stores close to the house. It really gave us a taste of real New York where the locals go. If you want to travel to the city or explore a little further out its a 5 minute walk to to the train or right up the street is the bus stop. There are plenty of markets, specialty stores,restaurants, and even banks and a pharmacies within walking distance from the house. We stubled upon a great bagel shop just up the street where you can see the bagels being pulled out of the oven and bagged up as you walk up to the order window. Theres nothing better than a fresh hot bagel in the morning!! Marina and Tom are outstanding hosts and they provide lots of information and resources for you if you are new to the area. Marina and Tom take excellent care of their home where it is comfortable and modernly equipt and are always just a phone call or 5 minutes away incase you need anything. I highly recommend this vacation rental property for anyone wanting an alternative to staying at a conventional hotel in the New York City area. Thank You again Marina and Tom for your hospitality. This is our third visit to Tom & Marina's place and I can't imagine staying anywhere else. Not only is the house lovely and immaculate but you just won't find better hosts than Tom & Marina. They make you feel like family when you are there and will make sure you enjoy your stay. The area restaurants are all very good and Louie & Ernie's Pizza is the best anywhere. Try a trip to Arthur Avenue for the best Italian food in the city. About the owner: The house is very cozy with a comforting feeling. Its very serene and peaceful. It reminds me of a house my mother would have loved. Its all on one level, close to stores, transportation, friendly, quiet and in a safe neighborhood. Its great for family vacations, couples, romantic get away or just for fun. We keep it very clean, sanitized, and with a homely presence to it. We provide you with all the amenities you need to get started with extra special touches to accommodate our guests. It's been a great experience to have met such wonderful people from all over the world. We are very grateful and pleased with all our guests, referrals, and new comers and very happy that they have been kind, generous and considerate to have left comments for other vacationers to read.
