This rental property is the way to go if you're coming to New York for a couple days or longer. We stayed from March 30 to April 3, 2012 and we had a great vacation. The location is just as described, a quiet and safe neighborhood. Literally 5 minute walk to the nearest subway and you are in Manhattan in no time. Multiple Deli's, Grocery's, and drug stores are all within a few seconds (closer than the subway!), The rental house itself was excellently equipped with everything you need for a few days stay. Very Comfortable. We brought our own food of course, but everything else was available (dishes, condiments, spices, etc.) All the amenities available at this property make it a spectacular deal. Oh, and Free Parking?! Yes! Awesome! Thanks Marina and Tom, We had a great stay and will 100% be calling upon you when we are in New York again.

We loved staying at this location. It's a hidden secret...close to train and easy to downtown Manhattan. Very clean, newly redone, safe, and there's parking in the back! All great reasons to choose this house instead of staying in the city. We loved it!

This is my third stay at the Bronx house and it is wonderful. Tom and Marina are such great host and their rental house comes equipped with everything you need. The neighborhood is great and there are restaurants, convenience stores and just about anything you need in a 2 block radius. If you want to go to Manhattan just walk a couple of blocks to the train and you will be there in 35 to 45 minutes.

We just returned from our third (yes, 3rd!!) stay at Tom & Marina's house. Although it is good to be back at our homes, it is always very difficult to leave The Bronx but that's why this house means so much to me and to my family; we know that we have a safe, clean, comfortable, peaceful place in The Bronx we can always return to and this is a priceless feeling. The house is so well maintained, clean, spacious and complete: It is the perfect home away from home!! Tom & Marina are the most gracious, sweet and helpful hosts. The area is perfect, you have everything you need within a three block easy walk: deli, pharmacies, nail shop, meat market, bakeries, fruit & vegetable market, train station, cleaners, restaurants, post office, taxi/car service, EVERYTHING you might need. Dear Marina & Tom, we pray God continues to bless and protect this vacation home because if you ever sell or close that house I will feel so lost here in California. Thanks again for everything. We had a fantastic stay here. Tom and Marina very welcoming and helpful and the house clean and comfortable. We stayed for eight nights in October and couldn't have picked anywhere better by the end of the holiday we were beginning to feel like locals! Everyone we met was friendly and helpful and we always felt safe even our 2 sons aged 17 and 19. Loved this rental. Marina was a great hostess, met us the door. The property was in beautiful condition, my teenagers loved it (which is hard to please), there was a pack n play bassinet for the baby to sleep in, there were pizza places and a corner store open till midnight within 5 minutes walking time, the subway was about 10 minutes walking time and so easy to use, the neighborhood was great and very friendly. I recommend this rental to everyone. I have stayed at many different rentals, and Marina had by far, made this a totally enjoyable experience. Thank you for the milk and juice in the refrig. After flying all day and arriving in the evening, it was a welcome site for the kids when we first got there. We loved the experience.

I cannot sat enough about the owners, Marina and Tom, or the wonderful property they let us call our own for two brief days!! They met us at the door and were so welcoming. They showed us around the immaculate house and showed us how everything worked! Unfortunately, the cable was down. Tom got right on the phone with the cable company who would be there the next day to fix. Cable was fixed the next morning and Marina even gave us a discount for the inconveinience!! How sweet are they? The house is just so homey, everything was spotless!!! Loved it, loved it, loved it!!! It was so nice having a driveway to park our vehicle, and the neighborhood was super quiet and safe! You cannot go wrong with this property, it is perfect!!! We will see you again Marina and Tom and thank you for allowing us to stay there!!!!

My husband and I stayed at Marina's for a long weekend (May 21st thru 23rd) when we came to pick up our daughter at the end of her school year at Fordham. This house has a great floor plan, is very clean, and offers small personal touches that made us feel quite at home. The #6 subway is a few blocks away, which was great for our trip into the city. Folks we passed by on the street were friendly, as were those at Geroge's, a neighborhood restaurant where we had breakfast on two mornings. Marina is a charming and gracious host; we could not have asked for a more comfortable house or a more generous host! We look forward to staying here again!

The best compliment one can give is to return to the same rental. This was our second stay and we were just as pleased, if not more so, than our first visit as repeat customers are given excellent terms and attention. The house is exceptionally clean in a great neighborhood. If you want a true NY experience in a safe place at a great value with off street parking then look no further. Delis and restaurants abound, with a bakery and grocer close by as well. The bus stop is literally across the street and the train to go to Manhattan is only a 7 minute walk away. On this visit we took a taxi to the NY Botanical Gardens which is not to be missed. Mostly our visit was spent seeing our daughter and grandchildren. Even my mother-in-law who came with us couldn't find anything to complain about :-) We would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit the attractions in the Bronx (NY Yankees, Bronx Zoo, Botanical Gardens, Little Italy, Fordham University, etc.) or who want to find reasonable alternatives to outrageous Manhattan hotels.

Christmas 2010

Marina and Tom were excellent host. The house is nicely decorated fully equipped and if you like cooking you can find everything you need. Me and my fiancee and his parents, coming form France, enjoyed our stay so much. I rented the house and was kind of worried for everybody to be happy with my decision, and it was a good one! The house is very comfy and cozy. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe, even late at night. Commuting to Manhattan is easy, 30min to 1 hour sometimes but avoid you the use of cars and parking in this crazy city. There was a blizzard (more than 40 cm snow) on the 25th and the day after we were discussing how to get out of the house, because we were blocked. Marina and Tom showed up at 8am and removed all the snow, that was so nice! They also organized car rides to JFK to pick up and drop us on Jan 1st. We will be back!!! Thanks!!

Marina and Tom were excellent hosts--we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay this past weekend; bus maps, train maps, maps of the city. The pictures describing the house are very accurate. It is meticulously kept, updated and quite nice accomodations. There were five of us and we were very compfortable with the two bedrooms, spacious living room, dining room and kitchen. It is a short walk to the No.6 train and near all the major highways, Bruckner, Cross Bronx Expressway, Whitestone Bridge, George Washington Bridge. The parking is a BIG plus. The neighborhood is quiet and we felt comfortable walking around even into the evening. Thanks again Marina and Tom for letting us stay at your lovely home! The Burrus Family.

Going to New york for my first time, i felt sketchy especially knowing the house was in the bronx. Once talking to marina a couple times and finally being there, i felt right at home, she made sure we had everything we needed and the area is calm and peaceful. Stores are walking distance and the train is just a block away. Planning a trip back to that house in August =]

Marina and Tom's home was comfortable, clean, and beyond my expectations. The house was exactly as described. Spacious and comfortable. It was big enough for each of us (3 guys) to have our own space. We arrived very late but they were kind enough to wait and welcome us. Transportation and food were close. Parking was no problem. We had the option to park behind the house (which is narrow) or in front of the house. Which most of the time was empty. The area seems safe enough, we were walking through the streets at night, and it seemed quite safe. Marina was attentive and made sure we had everything. Overall we had a great stay. Exactly as described. Comfortable for 2 adults and 2 children, clean and tidy, wifi, cable tv, free phone calls to N America. Lots of games and books provided to help with in-days. Driveway between houses quite narrow - plenty of parking / turning space behind the house. We dropped the rental car off and used public transport - an hour to downtown Manhattan from the door. We bought weekly subway passes - 10 minute walk to Buhre Ave subway station, or busses nearby. We found good basic eating by the subway station. Tom and Marina were very helpful, friendly, and concerned that we had everything we needed. We used their transport to the airport - several times as it turned out .... When our return flight was cancelled by the ash from the Icelandic volcano, Marina and Tom helped us, far beyond anything we could have expected. It is refreshing to discover that there are still some really genuine, sympathetic and generous people in this modern world. We would totally recommend this rental to others.

Our stay was very pleasant and comfortable. The house is very clean and looks just like the pictures shown here. It is in close proximity to a lot of NY attractions, including the two Airports. A Weekend With Friends

Marina's home was beyond my expectations. Their home was beautiful and comfortable. It truly is a "home away from home". Although I only spent two nights there, I didn't want to leave. In fact, my stay in NY was primarily for my best friend. We had a mini-baby shower at Marina's home. It was an intimate setting where our friends felt relaxed and at ease. It was a success and we had a great time. Getting around is not difficult, considering I am originally from the Bronx as well. The neighbors were friendly and everything was convenient. Even though I did not get to meet with Marina personally, she had her son in place of her. He was friendly and had a welcoming personality. Thank You Marina for everything. There were 3 of us...me from South Carolina, my cousin from Australia and her friend from Ohio. We met at the house the day after Christmas and spent a wonderful week in N.Y. shopping, eating, sight-seeing and all the fun stuff. New Year's Eve we took a dinner cruise out of Queens (about 15 minutes drive from the house) that went down to the Statue of Liberty. It was wonderful! Mostly the car stayed parked in the back of the house because the subway is so convenient...about 3-4 blocks through a very safe neighborhood. If you catch the express trains you can be in downtown Manhatten in about 20-25 minutes. If you take the local plan on an hour. The lesson: take the express. Your can tell it is express because the number 6 on the train is inside of a diamond...not a circle. About the house: great location, heat works great, kitchen has all you need and the beds are comfortable. Marina and Tom even showed up to shovel the snow out of the driveway while we were away one day. They could not have been nicer. I would stay here again.

Marina & Tom, thank you again for a wonderful stay. Your house was ideally located for my wife, mother-in-law, and myself to visit our daughter and grandchildren. We enjoyed dinner in the local restaurants and breakfast from the deli's. (The European bakery was also a treat). I would happily recommend this property to any one looking for a comfortable place to stay with plenty of shops and restaurants very close by. The house was exactly as described and the owners are very friendly and helpful. I was looking for a place to stay in the Bronx for a week and after looking at the reviews of the nearby hotels thought id look for a house to rent. I was a bit unsure what the house would be like as it was in the Bronx also what the area would be like so went with a open mind but am happy to say everything was just fine. The house has everything you could want and is decorated nicely and is very clean. Te area seems safe enough, we were walking through the streets late at night, and it seemed quite safe. The area has plenty of stores and places to eat. I will happily stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in New York in July thanks to this lovely house and the hospitality of Tom and Marina.The house was spotless in a great neighbourhood.The 6 train into the city was very convenient and on the one day it was raining we got the bus across the street which connects with the train.The house is more spacious than it appears in the photos.There were four large people in our party and we had plenty of space.Tom and Marina went above and beyond to help with shopping and to have teabags and oatmeal for our arrival.There are plenty of books to choose from including a selection of guidebooks which were invaluable.We loved this cosy house and would love to return.We arrived as visitors and left as New Yorkers thanks to the advice and guidance we got from Tom and Marina.

We truly enjoyed ourselves. Marina and Tom were very helpful and the property is great. The deli across the street is fantastic as well. This was a great location for us...not even a mile from friends and only 20 minutes to family, could ask for better.

Perfect Bronx Vacation Home

My family which consisted of 2 adults and 3 teenagers stayed in this property for 1 week in July. The location was perfect about a 5 minute walk from the 6 train (which takes you all the way to Brooklyn Bridge) on Buhre Avenue. We bought a $27 ticket which covered us to use the train and bus for the week.. The house itself is cosy, spotless and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The 3 teenagers were delighted to have a TV each to watch their programmes and just relax in the evenings after a long day sight seeing. We felt very safe in the area and everything was close by - pharmacy, supermarket, restaurants, launderette (you can drop your washing and collect it in 2 hours folded up and smelling of roses). Marina was a wonderful host, she gave us a tour of the area in her car on the first day and also provided us with plenty of leaflets and maps and was always at the end of the line when we needed her. We would highly recommend this property and if we visit New York again would not stay anywhere else but this house.

my family and i stayed here june 13 to june 23 2009 it was a wonderful home and a really nice neigborhood with just about any store possiable a person would love to shop and many food shops and a short walk to the subway and bus stops on that street also, marina and tom the owners of the house was a pleasure to rent from they made sure we were always comfortable they are really nice people i miss them already and the house,if you are considering a vacation in new york let me recommend this listing you want be disappointed non what so ever and marina and tom refunded our deposit the same day we left i just think they are really super! people thanks for making my family and i feel so at home and welcomed it was turely a pleasure to stay in your place and to have meet the both of you... I recently made plans to go to New York to visit and I was searching online for a place to stay and came upon this wonderful house in a beautiful and safe neighborhood. Once I contacted Marina, she replied right away and was available every time I sent her an email which believe me must have been about 6 times a day with all my questions. When I called her she answered the phone right away. This is comforting to know that you can rely on Marina. I sent the security deposit and the same day my plans fell through for my travel plans to New York and within 5 minutes Marina sent my refund back to me. I was SO amazed by her quick response and can not stress how trustworthy she is. In a time when there are to many hidden fees and not getting your full deposit, I was pleasantly surprised. I recommend this house to anyone traveling to New York and needing a place to stay! Marina - thank you!!!!!

This wonderful house is the best you can get,if you want to stay in NYC. It is in a great area,just a few steps away from the subway,the grocery store and restaurants. The neighbourhood is very friendly and even my parents from germany,who don´t speak english very well, weren´t afraid to walk around in the evening. The house is fully equipped and has everything you need. Marina and Tom are so nice and helpful,and the best, just a short call away. So,if you need someting,they will be there immediatley. Marina even called a fey times,just to make sure, we have everything. The next time I come for vacation,I will definitely stay there again. Thanks a lot for the wonderful time we had!

Do yourself a favor and stay at this house. Stop looking right now, and just book it; you will be far beyond pleased. Also, this is TRULY the best deal when it comes to financing your trip. Both my friend and I came in under budget, in of all places, New York. If it wasnt for this house in this neighborhood, we would have spent so much more in expensive restaurants in Manhattan, with food that would have just been ok. If you want a real New York experience in an old neighborhood like the one you grew up in, this is the place. Safe, quiet, families on the same street, and above all friendly and helpful people everywhere we went. No exceptions; every last person we met was kind to us. Even when we came in late at night after seeing live music (near 2am) we still felt safe walking the streets of this Bronx neighborhood. This was pretty important since we were two girls on our own. Tom & Marina are outstanding people, and made us feel more than welcome. Everything was close by, just as promised. Tom & Marina, we had a great stay with you. The house is beautiful, immaculately clean, and a great neighborhood. We loved that your neighbors were so friendly, and came to chat with us outside. And Vito's deli up the street? Well, let's just say that we loved it so much, I want to get married there! Everyone was friendly, everything we needed was less than three blocks, and taking the 6 train couldnt have been easier. We saw everything, did everything, we ate, we drank, we laughed, we cried (from laughing so hard). From start to finish, you made this hands down the BEST TRIP and FAVORITE VACATION my best friend have ever been on, and we have traveled quite a bit. We both got back home and missed the house, we missed the neighborhood, and we missed New York City. Tom & Marina, words couldn't thank you enough for your hospitality & kindness, and giving us a warm, safe place to call home while we were there.

Our stay in New York was a great adventure for our annual "girls weekend" getaway. Marina & Tom were welcoming and accommodating. They made sure everything was perfect for our stay. The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location was quite convenient -- just a subway ride away from everything. I would definitely recommend this home to others.

What a wonderful place to call home while visiting the "Big Apple". We visited there for two days in October and everything was perfect. Our party consisted of two couples and it was super. Tom and Marina were the perfect hosts and they certainly have done a great job making this the place to stay while visiting the New York City area. We are on a 90 day road trip seeing the backroads of America and this was a great way to remember New York. Keep up the great job Tom and Marina.

If you are looking for the perfect place to stay for your NYC trip then LOOK NO FURTHER, THIS IS PERFECT!! Believe me, we looked for weeks on all of the rental sites and hotel sites for places in all 5 burroughs as well as New Jersey and we are very happy that we found this rental. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER PLACE TO STAY AT THIS PRICE--PERIOD!!! My wife and I brought our 4 boys (ages 3-8) to NYC for vacation and were very pleased with the house and especially with the owners. The house was very recently completely remodeled and everything is clean and new including new appliances, furniture, kitchen utensils--everything. It was spacious enough for the 6 of us (much better than paying 2-3x the money for a cramped hotel room). The home is located in a quiet neighborhood just 3 blocks from the Buhre road subway station for the 6 train. This will get you to anywhere you want to go in the city- a weekly pass is $25. Travel to all the sights in NYC is very easy from this location. We never felt unsafe in this neighborhood, even walking the children home at night from the subway. You will be a few blocks away from a large grocery store and there are several restaurants, taverns and stores withing a couple of blocks. Even a Dunkin Donuts near the subway station for morning coffee and donuts. The best part, though, is the owners- Tom and Marina. They live closeby and so they were easy to get in touch with and were very concerned that we had everything that we needed. They went WAY above and beyond to be sure that we were comfortable. They were also eager to give advice on local attractions and how to get around the city. They even supplied city maps, subway maps, travel guides, etc. They are really great people and we are glad that we met them. So, don't hesitate. Book this rental today!! IT IS PERFECT!!

We stayed here while my husband worked at a worshop nearby. The kids and I had a wonderful time touring around. Tom and Marina were so gracious to us, welcoming us with gifts because they knew we were celebrating birthdays that week. When there was a problem with the cable company they came right over to get it straightened out (complete with coffee and donuts!) The hospitality was wonderful, the home neat, clean and very comfortable with everything we needed. Thanks so much!! We had a wonderful experience.

This place was AMAZING!! I came here with my 2 little boys and the owners helped me out so much. THe space was clean and well-kept. Convenient to everything you need including the subway. And I felt very safe there! Will come back 100 times, if I could.

We had an incredible time here! We were visiting from Chicago to see both Shea and Yankees Stadiums for the final times. The Crosby house made an excellant home base for us all. We loved the deli accross the street, as well as Jimmy Ryan's a block down ~ as that became our football watching home away from home! The area is safe and comfortable, and the home is spotless and has all you could need. Marina and Tom were excellant hosts ~ they greeted us after our long drive in with a gift for our baby to be born in 3 weeks! I'd joked with Marina much that we may have the baby there, but thank goodness he/she is still in my belly! Tom gave us tips on which bus and train routes to take to get around. Our security deposit was refunded back to us before we even made it back to Chicago. We forgot one item in the house and Marina had it in the mail to us before we even knew it was missing! We would absolutley stay here again when we return in a few years to see the new Yankee Stadium and CitiField. Thanks Marina & Tom for a wonderful stay!

Our stay in NY was a joy because of the nice property we stayed in. All that necessary for a pleasant stay were available, clean and in place. The surrounding community is calm and friendly. We have used VRBO lodging both in North America and in Europe. This one comes close to the very top of the list. We highly recommend this house to anyone who wishes to visit NYC and stay in a homely environment. Spacious, clean, comfortable. In a clean, safe and friendly neighbourhood. We travelled with 3 kids of very different ages and everybody found the house was our "home away from home" with all needed amenities and a really homely feel about it. The kids certainly appreciated having enough TVs to be able to each watch their own programming; a nice fit: 3 TVs for 3 kids. Tom and Marina were warm and very helpful hosts. Thank you for your kindness. BTW, Anna's eyeglasses which she forgot and you mailed to us have made it to Brampton in good shape.

Wonderful Stay! We had a wonderful stay in your clean, updated, atmosphere like home rental. My wife and I came with our teenage son and daughter. We cooked a big breakfast every morning in the updated kitchen and came back "home" for night. The teenagers loved the large LCD TV in the living room and the TV's in the bedrooms. Every night we came home after 11 p.m. and walked from the subway. We felt secure and the people in the neighborhood were very kind to us. Tom and Marina were gracious hosts and helped us unload our luggage and made sure that we were comfortable. He doesn’t do stairs very well and your home worked very well for him. We took him into the city a couple of times on the subway. Not all of the stations are accessible. We drove him down to the Pelham Bay Station, got off at Buhre Station and waited for Bryan to run the car back home and walk back to join us for the rest of the ride. The evening we went to see a play on Broadway we drove into the city and that was easier than we expected it to be. On the days he didn’t join us sightseeing he enjoyed watching the pulse of the neighborhood from the living room windows.This home is exactly why we try to stay in vacation homes when traveling. We lived like a local if even for only a week. The home is clean, comfortable, safe, easy to find and get into.

WOW--what a fabulous rental! It was so nice to spend our days sight-seeing and then have plenty of space to relax in. Tom and Marina are incredible hosts--they completely pampered us with many special touches for our anniversary get-away! What a delightful surprise to end up at this comfortable home away from home. After a long flight, I arrived to find a lovely bedroom for me, in a clean remodeled place of lodging with all the anemnities we would ever need . The owners make themselves available at all times and genuinely care about your comfort. Nearby Bodegas for any shopping needs and the most outrageously delicious sausage (fresh) deli across the street. Delectible pizza around the corner and you'll be all set for a serenity filled, peaceful getaway, big screen included!Full kitchen was great to dine together with loved ones. I'll be back! WOW!! All I can say is this is an A1 top of the line fabulous property!! Spotless and BRAND NEW EVERYTHING. The owners, Tom and Marina are truly great folks and very very accomodating. The beds are new and comfy and like I said eveything is shiny and clean. We loved the neighborhood and felt very safe and welcome. It has great bakeries and delis and mom and pops galore!! Its nice to see this so close to the city. We traveled into see a Yankees game by subway and drove in on Sunday to shop on 5th ave. The drive in is much quicker than the subway. I am dying to go back soon and stay there. This is a big beautiful space for the price of hotel room.
