Tucked in among the surrounding bluffs and hillsides you’ll find gorgeous fall colors and dazzling winter scenery. Tucked off the main channel the cottage has the best of both worlds…easy assess to the big water, a great view of the water and sunsets, but little boat traffic. Because of our waterfront location, the choice is yours, launch your boat and head left for Lake Wisconsin or go right for the Wisconsin River. You’ve got it all right here! You can spend an exciting day on the open water of the lake or a quiet day exploring the Dells-like bluffs and the nearby islands, coves, and backwaters in your canoe or kayak. The shallow water in front is perfect for kayaks and canoes.

Though the cottage has a green lawn for yard games or for kids to run around in, just a block away is a park with playground equipment and wading beach, perfect for small children and dogs. Tennis and basketball courts are just a mile up the road. Bike riding opportunities on winding country roads in the area are fantastic. Up for a challenge? Circle Lake Wisconsin on your bike, it's about a 50 mile trip with a free ferryboat crossing as a highlight!
This two bedroom, one bathroom house has a small but efficient kitchen and an open layout. The kitchen is equipped with all you’ll need to prepare any meal you like…or grill out on waterside deck! Feeling lazy? Kick back and enjoy the 37” flat screen LCD HDTV or enjoy the hot tub which seats up to six people, so...relax, sip a drink, even surf the web, and watch the river go by!
Beautiful views out the large living room windows and across the 16’x25’ deck look onto green, sandy islands and the undeveloped distant shores of the Wisconsin River as it opens up into Lake Wisconsin.

The description on line was to the t. The cottage had practically everything you needed. The senery was beautiful and relaxing. The boys had a blast with having the boats for use when ever they wanted. We hope to come back again. Only thing missing was a clothes washer, that is the only thing keeping it from being perfectly flawless. Thank you for sharing your piece of tranquility. Lisa
Owner response:Lisa, Thanks for being our very first guests at Quietwater! Glad you enjoyed it, I could tell the boys would when I saw them bound out of the car and run for the waterfront. They caught a turtle within no time! I hope you found the little laundromat just four miles up the road in the tiny hamlet of Harmony Grove. It's across the street from the Pizza Parlor. Looking forward to you being our guest again. -Dave

Nice cabin with everything you need to get away from things for awhile. Dave is very accomodating, I left a battery charger there, they mailed it back to me without me even asking! Hot tub is great, if its warm enough to go canoeing around the lake that's also a good time. Deck comes with a big gas grill to cook outside, nice gas fireplace for colder nights. Flat screen with cable & iPod hookups. Groceries take a 10 minute drive but heh, you aren't going there to be right next to a Walmart anyways so just plan ahead:)

We had a wonderful long weekend at Quietwater Cottage. The cottage is situated on the Wisconsin River. The deck was where we spent most of our time, watching the wildlife and an occasional canoe. It was a grand place to sit after dinner and listen to the Sandhill Crane calling until nightfall. The cottage was well appointed. We found everything we needed. The owners had great suggestions on places to visit, but the cottage would a great place to bring a book and enjoy life on the river. We hope to return in the not too distant future. ~Susie Sacramento, CA

Had a fantastic 4 day vacation at Quietwater. The property is gorgeous! The wife and I especially loved relaxing in the hot tub and watching the sunset each evening. Our two cocker spaniels had the time of their lives. They had a great time playing in the water and they enjoyed watching all the beautiful birds as much as we did. Dave is an excellent host and even left us a bottle of wine to enjoy while relaxing. I couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate my upcoming 40th Birthday. We plan on returning again, hopefully for at least a week this time. Four days were just not enough. Thanks for everything.

Second time up here and just as perfect as the first. Exactly what we needed for a close get-a-way from the big city. The area is beautiful and the cottage is as pretty as can be. Good fishing, incredible views, friendly people; what else could you ask for! We will definately be back!

Our stay was WONDERFUL!!! SO relaxing :) The weather was beautiful. The cabin was so clean and welcoming. We appreciated the bottle of wine and the comforting welcome. We fished (caught Crappie, Pumpkinseed, Walleye, Perch, Bullhead and even a crayfish and SALAMANDER!!! - have you ever seen a salamander in real life? We hadn't - it was cool). The kids put their suits on and walked right off the dock up to the island and hunted for clams (we almost had a clam bake, but the kids threw a fit :) (The dog (golden retriever) loved it too (first time she's had the opportunity to be in the water this much) We made campfire chili over the fire while we fished. That same night - we saw probably 200 cranes fly over and descend into the cattails/reeds. It was really cool. The canoes and rowboat were a hit as well as the hot tub. Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

We spent our first ever family vacation visiting this cottage - my husband, our 8-month old daughter and small dog. It was just the perfect escape. Our daughter's pack and play fit perfectly in the second bedroom. We enjoyed using the patio to grill, play games and just relax. Who knew bird watching would be so fun? The kitchen was well-stocked, you really just need food. Even comes with sugar, salt, spices, etc. Bedroom was very comfortable - same with all the seating in the living room. Firepit down by the water was great. We spent one day visiting Mackenzie Environmental Education Center and another at Lapacek's Orchard - got to pick our daughter's first pumpkin right off the vine. Both were just perfect day trips - just 15 or so miles away. Ron the property manager was very nice and helpful. We would definitely reccomend this to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway. You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, yet if you want to get out and do things, there's plenty to do! Thanks Dave for providing a great, memorable trip!

My family had a Wonderful time at the Quietwater Cottage, it was described perfectly and was just what we were looking for. The view from the deck and hottub was more than relaxing. The children and dogs enjoyed the water right in the backyard. We also enjoyed boating to a nearby sandbar for an afternoon of fun in the sun. The water was a little low but once my husband learned to navigate we were able to get our boat right up to the dock by the house. We also really enjoyed the canoes that were provided. The owner and caretakers couldn't have been more helpful, great information provided on local attractions and restaurants. We didn't travel away from the cottage to much but did enjoy one day at the Dells and a lovely drive to Baraboo one afternoon. Also one evening at the nearby casino. We also enjoyed a meal at a nearby lakeside restaurant, Hooker's, absolutely delicious Friday night fish fry. I would recommend this to anyone looking to relax and have some fun with a small family. We enjoyed the experience with 2 children and 2 dogs. Plenty of room for us all. Thanks again Dave for a wonderful experience.
Owner response:Steph, Thanks for being our guests, glad you had a good time. Try a stay in the winter sometime! -Dave
