Ucluelet house description

Perched at the edge of the earth there is a place of exquisite beauty and drama.

Black Rock Beach House, situated at the very edge of the Pacific Ocean, is your unparalleled vantage point for the crashing breakers of storm season, whale spotting over dinner, or some reflective beach combing with a cup of coffee.

The wild Pacific in privacy and luxury - Black Rock Beach House is the West Coast at its best.

Take on the Pacific with some surfing, and then soothe your body with a steam shower. Hike the Wild Pacific Trail that sits (literally) at your doorstep. Whether you choose to reward yourself with a soak in the beachside hot tub or the master bath you will never sacrifice your connection with the ocean.

A game of chess with the beach at your side, a glass of wine by the fire in the living room, or an evening gathered around a crackling fire in the Black Rock Timber Room – this place will touch your soul.

The only thing that is hard about Black Rock Beach House is the leaving.

Our family had a great stay and enjoyed all the house has to offer. We frequent Ucluelet and have stayed in many VRBO properties and this tops them all. So relaxing to watch your back yard (Ocean) transform by the minute. We viewed everything from storms, grey whales, sun, and Eagles. Our kids were never bored and almost forgot about cell phones:) Barb thought of everything as you literally don't have to bring anything! I would highly recommend anyone to stay here and we WILL return! Thanks Barb!

I can't say enough about the spectacular location - on entering you are drawn through the house by the view outside on the veranda, then you'll look out onto the Pacific Ocean and pinch yourself - "is this a beautiful dream?" There is plenty to do for the nature enthusiast here, but coming from the hectic life of Vancouver I just ground to a halt on arrival - and happy to do so; however, my friends did manage to entice me to awe-inspiring walks along the easy seaside trails. Thanks to the comfortable beds, I slept very well, and the well-equipped kitchen was fun to work in with all my friends. Topping the night off with a beach fire made me feel like a kid again! Can't wait to go back!

I spent a fantastic "girls" weekend here, with 6 friends. Any stress or worry that we brought in with our bags, quickly vanished as we saw the beautiful interior of the house, and the amazing uninterrupted view ~ from any window we looked out. We all felt so fortunate to be there. This feeling didn't diminish at all during our time there - in fact we just kept noticing more things to "ooh" and "ahh" about: the hot tub on the deck as we watched the sun set and the first stars appear, the wine and laughs around the fire on the beach after cooking dinner in the gourmet kitchen, the sunrise in the morning as the stars disappeared, and the stunning views and lessons in nature that we experienced on our long walks along the shoreline trails. Even the drive from the ferry to the house was awesome (in the true sense of the word) as we stopped to see a stand of old growth giant Douglas Fir trees - some 800 years old - in Cathedral Grove - breathtaking. Really, you can't beat Black Rock Beach House for an amazing time "away" ~ any time of year would be fantastic to stay, and come with family with children, friends - a perfect romantic getaway for sure - right out of a movie. It's idyllic. Everything is top quality and the beds and linens guaranteed a good sleep. The steam shower was a lovely surprise too. While it was hard to pull ourselves away from the house, we did enjoy little drives to Long Beach for where we had a great long walk over the sand when the tide was out - it felt like we were at the edge of the earth as we looked out over the Pacific. Watching the eagles sitting in their nests doing the same thing was pretty cool too. Further along we watched surfers at Chesterman Beach, and admired the First Nations artwork in Tofino and enjoyed the little shops there too. I'm looking forward to taking my visiting European relatives there this summer for the real Westcoast experience! It's true ~ the only downside was...... we had to leave!

What an amazing spot. Of course the coastline of the rugged west coast is spectacular, but to be able to enjoy it from a "front row seat" makes this vacation home an absolute bargain. Sitting in the hot tub overlooking the ocean is something not to be missed. Equally worth noting is the ability to have a campfire just outside your cabin door. This is hardly a cabin though. The home is equipped with every you might wish for. The décor is warm, the furniture fitting of the home's style, and the floor plan is perfect for entertaining. A large open kitchen to the dining area allows cook and guest to stay together. Perfect! I highly recommend this property. Perfect for family get-togethers, or a staff retreat.

Enjoyed a wonderful 4 days at Black Rock Beach House w/childhood friends! Great spot for anyone who enjoys being near the ocean and nature at its glory! The view, amenities and being able to relax listening to the ocean at night were all amazing! The rooms and beds were made for ones comfort and each had a beautiful view to enjoy in calmness. From the large open living area to the great fire room, a hot tub and beach fire under the stars, we made sure to fulfil our weekend stay and not miss a beat! The surrounding coastal area is breathtaking, even driving up to Tofino for a wander about the little town is a must with its art galleries and shops.

Myself and 6 others girls (family) stayed here for 3 nights in September 2013. The pictures on the website don't even do it justice. It is breathtaking and our prairie girls were stunned. It is perfectly apppointed and wonderfully cozy. The weather was perfect so that made it even better. Everything inch of the house was spotless and just fresh. The beds are super comfortable, even the trundles. There are 3 bathrooms upstairs and 3 bedrooms which was ideal. The kitchen is fully stocked, including blender, espresso machine, anything we needed. We spent morning cozied up in front of the fireplace, afternoons and evenings playing games on the huge harvest table, in the hot tub, grilling, and taking in the views on the adirondack chairs on the porch. We went on hikes, did a kayaking tour and took in Jiggers fish and chip trailer in Uke! Our mini-break was peaceful and beautiful. We plan on coming back for sure!

My friends and I rented The Black Rock Beach House recently. We knew the house was gorgeous from the photos but once we arrived we couldn't believe it.The home is spectacular. Very spacious and comfortably furnished and the decor was a constant conversation piece. The setting was beyond our expectations. We were literally a stones throw from the ocean. We loved the private beach and fire pit. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this rental to anyone.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Black Rock Beach House, it is even more spectacular in person, we absolutely loved everything about it, everything was perfection! This is a beautiful home. We hated to leave each day but wanted to see the Wild Pacific Trail, so we reluctantly left the house and walked the Lighthouse Trail section of the trail, we picked a good day, gale force winds, marine advisories and spectacular waves, quite impressive. We had hoped for a storm and Mother Nature co-operated, wet & weary we returned to what is now our new favorite place, Black Rock Beach House. We walked the other sections of the trail the following days, all beautiful and peaceful. Never got to take the boat tour of the Broken Group Islands, or kayak due to the marine advisories and fog, hopefully next time, but the rain and fog didn't spoil our trip in the least, just added the adventure, we were happy to spend more time back at the house just staring out the windows at the waves crashing on the rocks, the eagles, and the Great Heron who came to the tidal pools in front of the house for his breakfast and dinner each day. We had an absolutely wonderful time and will definetly be back, next time bringing our 2 grown daughters.

Three of us stayed here in Oct/Nov of 2010. The house was lovely - just as pictured. The scenery is spectacular, and you feel very secluded. It is very close to the Wild Pacific Trail, and while there is so much to see, you definitely want to be there for the beautiful sunsets. The owners were very responsive to all of our questions, and were a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend this home, and we are already trying to plan a time to return!
