We visited Cascadel for a week-long after Christmas New Year's celebration with our kids and grandchildren. One of our goals was to show the grandkids snow, but mother nature did not cooperate in that regard, as temps were cold in the mornings and reaching mid-sixties by afternoon. This turned out great for driving; driving to and from Yosemite from Cascadel in the snow would be a challenge. But as it turned out, we experienced pleasant and scenic drives each day we visited Yosemite (45 min drive on good roads to south gate). The house itself is situated in a quiet mountain neighborhood a good 4-5 minute drive off the main road. We could hear the nearby waterfall from the house; the hike to the falls taking about 5 minutes....a beautiful view stretching for miles. The house itself has all the amenities we needed including a wonderful master bedroom suite with huge jacuzzi tub. My daughter played the piano after dinner each evening. We had plenty of room, even with 6 adults and 4 kids. Suzanne was very accommodating and a pleasure to work with; there are directions for anything and everything one needs. In retrospect I am really happy that this was the first time in about 50 years there was no snow in either Cascadel nor Yosemite. I just wish that Yosemite had a plan for non-snowy winters...it might happen again someday.

Spent a week at the Cascadel home at the end of Sept, weather was perfect. Spent several nights eating and socializing on the deck. Got up early one morning and spent the whole day at Yosemite, had forgotten how beautiful it was. The home is well stocked and very comfortable, piano added lots of fun. Bass Lake is a lovely lake, it was quiet and calm while we were there but the fishing at Mammoth Pools is the best the men in our group had experienced for a long time. Suzann is available and very helpful for anything. Our only complaint was the distance to Yosemite, would have liked a couple more days there.

This cabin has everything you need to have a great stay. Just bring yourself and some food. It's open, sleeps plenty and has a DVD and direct TV. The deck is great for watching stars at night. There is a swimming hole near by, it looks like it would be nice but I didn't have time to enjoy it. I guess I'll have to try it next time.

We had a great time the for 3 days in Septermber 2011. I planned a group of on/off road motorcyclists (4) to come site see the area. The house was super nice, all accomodations one could possibly want and the peacefulness of the outdoors while sitting on the deck. The home itself was very comfortable, made me personally feel relaxed allowing me to put all personal home life and work aside. It was a rock throw to Yosemite which we rode to on Friday, going to Glacier Point which over looks the Yosemite Valley. On the way back, we went to Bass Lake (Ducci's) for odours, several movies such as the Great Outdoors was filmed here. This is about 15 minutes from the Cabin/House. Saturday, we rode from the house right into the National Forest which borders the house. We were in the high country in a matter of minutes, starting at 4000 feet elevation and reaching 8500 feet. The terrain was beautiful, running streams, green ferns, wild life, what more could we want. The bottom line, because of the location of the home, the activities that surround the home, and what the home provided in regards to accomodations, I have alreday reserved it for another stay in the future. We had just an awesome stay!

I found the condo very adequate for our family. grandparents, children, spouses and grandchildren. The grand kids lofted the loft and had plenty of room to play, the bedrooms were great. Loved the fan over the bed. The kitchen was very well equipped with pots and pans and all the cooking utensils. We BBQ'd every night and had great family dinners. We had easy access to Bass Lake, were we rented a Patio boat and spent most of our time as well as Yosemite and Manzanita. We loved the pools and waterfalls near the house. Very peaceful and quiet vacation. Perfect family time !

My family loved the comfortable decor! Most of our time was spent in the kitchen and dining area, all 8 of us fit well. My little niece loved taking baths in the big tub upstairs! Everything you need is there for you, we just needed food ans clothes. Many condiments were generously left there for our use. We got good use out of the tiny, but just what we needed washer and dryer. The crock pot was great, since it is quite a drive to Yosemite! We made chili and a whole chicken fit in it another night! Loved being able to walk to the creek/swimming hole. It was a beautful hike, the water was very cold! Bass lake was our choice for swimming, the family had a blast there! We felt just isolated enough from the busy city we come from. Thanks Suzann for making our stay comfortable and easy!

We only stayed 2 days and spent most of that time in the park being a tourist (first time). However, the house was beautiful-spacious-and cozy like home. Could not figure out the 3 tv remotes so we played a game from Suzanns supply and laughed till we cried. Would stay again, in a heartbeat, so we can find the first waterhole (not the falls).
Owner response:Mary, thank you for taking the time to comment. As a result, I created a map to the Pool #1 and a list of steps for the TV and Blue Ray. Wish I were with you to play games. Bet I know which one made you laugh. It is a great game and very educational for kids, that is, if the title doesn't put one off. Really wishing you could visit again.

Fantastic rental property with plenty of space, well equipped & very clean. Added bonus of no cleaning fee! Close enough to Bass Lake, short hike from the house to a beautiful waterfall & natural swimming hole, kids loved it! We hiked to the top of Fresno Dome & were rewarded with panoramic views. We were there for July 4th weekend & watched the fireworks on Bass Lake which was an amazing show! The owner Suzann couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I would definitely recommend this property for rental purposes.
Owner response:Sinead, Thank you for your review. Your comments will really help future guests recognize what's available. You really packed your stay with activities. How exciting to hear and I bet great for the kids. Come back again, Suzann
