Slip into your own private paradise in the beautiful Florida Keys! Our private waterfront home is located in the prestigious Doctor's Arm area of Big Pine Key inside the Key Deer Sanctuary. It is a spacious 2/2 with a beautiful fully updated interior, tropically decorated and equipped with everything you need for an unforgettable fishing, diving, or simply relaxing vacation.
We are located on a deep water canal front with across the way privacy overlooking only the water and the mangroves. Our waterway is just adjacent to a major boating channel that provides fast and easy access to both the Gulf and the Atlantic. Flats fishing, reef fishing, snorkeling and diving are all just a short boat ride away from your own dock. No boat, no problem, fish or snorkel from the renowned No Name Bridge right around the corner.
Looe Key, one of the only living reefs in North America, and the incredible back country are easily navigable and accessible. Spend the afternoon on the beach or swimming in the clear warm waters. Every variety of tropical fish play on the reefs and pods of dolphin are a common site in our bay. Bahia Honda Beach is just a few miles away, voted the second most beautiful beach in the nation and a popular spot for snorkeling. The Old Wooden Bridge Fish Camp and marina is just around the corner where you may launch or rent your own boat.
Use our bicycles or two-man kayak to get around the quiet streets and waterways of the neighborhood, relax in the large hammock overlooking the water, or cozy up in front of our outdoor fireplace. Sliding glass doors open onto a large, wraparound upstairs deck where you can sip your favorite cocktail while taking in the sunset. After dark the view even improves with a spectacular star and meteor show.
Looking for something more exciting? Hang with the locals and grab the best pizza at the world famous, historic No Name Pub just down the street; or hop in the car for a quick run to Key West for 5 star dining, dancing, and live music. Historic Old Town Key West offers up nightly sunset celebrations, art, shopping and casual to fine dining all within walking distance of Duval Street.
Return from the exciting nightlife to your own private home where the endangered Key Deer may pay you a visit. Big Pine is the National Key Deer Refuge, and nightly sightings of these tiny, gentle creatures are common. Big Pine is also the home of the Great White Heron Refuge and while you clean your fish or cook your catch they will gladly keep you company.
At the end of the evening, enjoy a wonderful night's rest on our pillow top beds, (one a new orthopedic, softsided, waveless waterbed!). Maybe tune the stereo to local jazz, grab the remote, explore our extensive DVD library; or perhaps just relax with a good book, because in the morning your island adventure begins again! Owner Description
My husband and I are Florida natives who grew up diving in the Keys. Each work week for years we always had one eye on the calendar trying to figure out a way to go visit. Although technical types by profession, a pilot and engineer, we always felt a strong connection to the ocean and nature of the Keys hoping to live there one day. Much older now, even though we have traveled many places, we still catch ourselves checking the calendar, anxious to get home to Big Pine. Our returning guests all do the very same. It seems there is a special balance of life here that all at once amazes and amuses, then eventually lulls each one of us into happy submission. We know you will love it as much as we do!

Everything you need for a great Keys vacation

Our family has stayed here for many years and absolutely love it. If you like to be able to step out the door and be on the water in minutes, this is the place for you. We trailer our boat here and love the easy access to Bahia Honda State Park, Looe Key, 7 Mile Bridge, the list goes on and on. The home has all the amenties you need to eat in and there are many places to go if you want to eat out. The wraparound deck on this home is great for stargazing and having your morning cup of coffee. The bikes are nice for riding to the No Name Bridge after dinner to look for tarpon, sharks and whatever else is swimming out there at dusk. The owners are very nice people who take a lot of pride in this home. We will definitely be back.

I stayed at this wonderful home in September 2004. In the morning I went scuba diving at Looe Key which was a short ride (about 30 minutes) from the house. At Looe Key I saw hundreds of tropical fish, a green eel and a very large and friendly grouper. In the afternoon I had lunch at the NO Name Pub which was a short bike ride from the house. Finially I was exhauseted and just spent the evening on the porch (and some time in the Hammock) just lazing around. Then when it got dark I had an extra special surprise. Two Key dear came into the yard and stayed for quite a while. And that was just the first day. Whow what a great house, what a great location. I'll be back for sure. Thanks!!!!

I owned this property some time ago, it is beautiful and very peaceful. Once you get there you never want to leave. They keep it beautiful and I am looking forward to renting it in the future. To put it simply "ITS HEAVEN". I CERTAINLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. YOU WILL LOVE BIG PINE KEY, JUST BE CAREFUL YOU DONT FALL IN LOVE WITH BIG PINE, YOU'LL BE FORCED TO MOVE THERE.
