Whitecaps Cottage is a Lake Superior rental located on the eastern shore of the Keweenaw Peninsula. This vacation rental offers a large open living area that includes a kitchen and dining nook. Two bedrooms and a full bath complete the living arrangements. This year-round cottage provides wonderful views of Lake Superior sunrises and the large windows and French doors at the front of the cottage bring the grandeur of Lake Superior to your living space.
The views from Whitecaps Cottage are simply incredible. To the north, the Lower Entry Lighthouse guides Lake Superior ships into the Portage Canal. Freighters occasionally cross in front of Whitecaps Cottage as they make their entrance into the Portage Canal. Further north, Rabbit Island is visible and on clear winter nights, the lights of Mount Bohemia on the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula guide skiers down the extreme slopes.
The lake bottom is beautiful red sandstone. The water remains shallow for a considerable distance and then drops off to a depth of over one hundred feet. Canoes, kayaks, and windsurfing boards are welcome.
