Karaka is a two bedroom self-contained cottage at the tip of a secluded peninsula on the shore of the beautiful Waimea Estuary. Surrounded by vineyards and an organic orchard, there are spectacular panoramic views across the water to the mountains.
Karaka is only five minutes drive to Mapua Village where there are shops, restaurants and cafés. Located in the heart of the wine growing area and within easy reach of beaches, rivers and the National Parks, this is an ideal place to explore the Nelson region from.
Karaka is a bird watchers paradise as the Waimea Estuary is famous for its bird population. Being so close to the water you can watch wading birds paddle around the shore from your deck.
Karaka has a main bedroom with a king size bed and a second bedroom with twin single beds. It has Internet access, an open plan living/kitchen area, a wood burning fire, a hot outdoor bathtub, a large covered veranda and a private garden to the estuary shore. The studio is attached by a covered walkway, and can be used as an office, studio or a third bedroom.
We also have a self-contained one bedroom house available, Miro. Price ranges from $150 - $175.
