The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Michigan has some of the best orchards in the midwest. It's fun to pick all the fruits and vegetables at the local farms. Visit the many Michigan winerys for a sample of the wines. Swimming in Lake Michigan and taking long walks on the beach.
Beautiful beaches with massive sand dunes. Plenty of parking. The north beach is dog friendly. Concessions, showers, restrooms, RV parking, campground. Cross country skiing and great sledding. Beach pass provided.
My favorite beach. Beautiful beach, boat dock, concessions, restaurant, restrooms, showers and parking. Free Sunday concerts. Other nice events too. No dogs. Beach pass provided.
Nice Community Beach with beautiful sunsets. Stairs down to beach, no dogs, no restrooms or facilities. Limited parking--get there early. Beach pass provided.
Downtown features Fitzgerald's restaurant, a brewery, art galleries, grocery store, garden center, post office, hardware store, and a pharmacy with a soda fountian.

If you are looking for a great location close to shopping, wineries and restaurants then this is the place. The house was as clean as possible with lots of space. If going in the summer months with children there is plenty of room for them to play as well as a carriage house set up for children. The screened in porch (although to cold for our stay) is a nice additon. The bedrooms are roomy and the beds especially comfortable. We enjoying haivng a fire inside and just laid around feeling like we were at home!
Recommended for:Age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We booked a group of 8 for this rental. Upon arriving we were very pleased with the "neighborhood". You feel like you are in the woods and the house have a good deal of distance between them, and secluded by trees. So it was less of a neighborhood and more like a woodsy retreat! Chris was wonderful to work with. Great communication. The home had everything we needed. We were all very impressed with how clean everything was too. I think we spent almost all our time on the screened in porch! That's an added bonus to this home. There was enough stuff to do in the area and it was close to the freeway for easy access to other cities in a short amount of time. I highly recommend this rental for a great getaway.

We were looking for a reasonably priced home that was not too far from Chicago and this house was a fantastic find. The owner was easy to work with and she was very flexible with us. Though it was June she allowed us to rent the home by the weekend (which is hard to find in the summer!). Over the years, we've come to expect a certain standard (size, comfort, decor) and for the price this house was a gem. The house is nestled in a forest and and it is not very close to any big towns, but if you need anything you can drive out about 10-15 minutes and find just about anything (tons of beaches, restaurants, wineries). Bonuses: She provides 1 car's beach pass to a few different nearby beaches, she provided us with Round Barn wine glasses so we could get a free tasting (wine and beer), and there is a fire pit outside. We also had a few young children and it was child-friendly (1 pack and play included and no stairs to worry about). One thing to note: The 4th bedroom is in a detached garage and it is nicely set up, but there is no AC or bathroom (just something to keep in mind). I have already recommended this home to others and we may be back again next summer!
