We were three American women, and our ages spanned six decades which made this apartment perfect for all our needs ~ three beds; bathroom with a shower and tub (hair dryer!); a fully appointed kitchenette; a table which easily expanded for us to sit around and eat our morning pastries and drink coffee; comfortable, brand new sofa; a huge flat screen tv, (which we didn't have time to use) and all important wi-fi, which we did use, often. From the award winning bakery steps away from the apartment entrance, the cafe, market, to the Luxembourg Gardens, we were right in the heart of the real Paris. We slept well on the comfortable beds as the windows face an enclosed court yard. The flat was clean with quality sheets, blankets (no moving furniture pad to be found!), and towels. The manager, Pascal, was very responsive to my inquiries prior to us deciding on this flat, as with the previous reviewer, I am very sensitive to these reviews. He put me in touch with the owner of the apartment and she was enormously helpful. Before our arrival they replaced the sofa (although we did not use it as a sleeper), fixed the bathroom ceiling and bought a number of new items. She told us of a reliable and professional driver who picked us up at the airport, alerted the staff of our arrival, and we were greeted at the apartment. By the time one arrives from the states, you're tired, so to have this service, and not have to figure out the train, lug our suitcases, call, etc., was very reassuring, especially for our senior traveler who was 85 years young! The weather complied for the most part, so we walked from the apartment, (always through the Luxembourg Gardens if we were going north), to the river, enjoyed an evening cruise from Pont Neuf, found a lovely cafe near Rue de Jacob that looked just like one of Van Gough's paintings! And that was just the day we arrived! We ventured out the next day - walking to Notre Dame, to the Louve and then caught a bicycle taxi to the Eiffel Tower. Then a vehicular taxi back home. We took the RER, Port Royal, connected to the Metro and off we went. One special evening we went to La Closerie des Lilas as our driver, Serge, had told us it was for VIP's. It is located a five minute walk from the flat, which we did at 9 pm and felt very safe. It is very expensive, but the experience was worth it! We loved the bar, where Hemingway is remembered, and there was a delightful piano player. We will be back! Thank you Pascal & Pat!

My family of four stayed here for a week. It was a perfect location for our first visit to Paris. The RER is easily accessible from CDG straight to the apartment (Port Royal). Then there was just 2-3 city blocks of walking to the apartment. The photos are accurate, and while the apartment is small, it is comfortable. We were gone all day and so it provided the perfect escape when we were tired. The kids had their own beds in a separate room which was perfect at night when we wanted to stay up to have a glass of wine. The shower was superb!! Great water pressure! The Luxembourg Gardens are a less than 5 minute walk away and we spent a lot of time there with the kids. The RER allowed us to have access to the whole city, while the delicious Kayser bakery and "Le Chartreux" cafe downstairs started our day with croissants, coffee, and hot chocolate. We loved the neighborhood as we were out of the tourist section. Real Parisians getting on with their lives in this neighborhood. Pascal was fantastic in regards to answering emails and Renata met us early at the apartment so that we could drop our luggage while they were preparing for our arrival. I rely heavily on reviews for where to stay on VRBO, and I highly recommend this apartment. Thanks for everything! We will be back!

We stayed here for a week and found the apartment fantastic. The owner apologized for peeling paint in the bathroom way at the top and it was scheduled for repair as soon as we left. We found the beds to be just fine, firm but high quality with nice memory foam toppers. We did not use the fold out couch so cannot comment on that. The apartment was spotless, like an oasis when we returned from long days in the city. It is just a few blocks from the high energy tourist spots, which was perfect. Within a 10 minutes walking were all the shops and restaurants you could imagine but the apartment itself was completely quiet. The bakery on the corner was incredible. Public transport was really good from here. We did not find the apartment tired or worn at all, so I guess we just have a different opinion from the past reviewer. The bedspreads were lovely, there was a nice table for eating and 4 comfortable chairs as well. Free high speed internet, a great TV that we did not use much, spotless and high end. The apartment could use a better reading lamp in the living room. The kitchen was really well equipped and while small it is not small by Paris standards. All in all I think the apartment is pretty, quiet and great value, we could not have been happier. Will return.

Three of us stayed at this apartment for two weeks over Christmas 2011. Overall, the experience was good and it fit our needs well. However, the apartment is generally tired and I believe there is good value in other apartments in Paris. Advantages: - Very close to RER station (direct line from Charles de Gaulle airport) - Good location next to Jardin de Luxembourg - Warm: radiators work very well (this counts in winter) - Quiet - Relatively clean - Basic essentials included (dishes, towels, etc). - TV and Internet work well. Disadvantages: - The apartment (and furniture) are getting old and worn out. The apartment seems as though it's been used as a travelers pad for quite a while. - Beds are not great. The duvet on my bed was a furniture moving pad, not an actual blanket (!). Plus it was a bit stained. - Sofas are slightly stained and worn out - No proper table for eating dinner - Bathroom is small (classically French) Compared to the other vacation apartments I saw while I was there, I would ranking this apartment as a lower value then the others. If they put a little money into updating the furniture, then it would be a real winner. Otherwise, the price should be lower to compensate for that. Happy Travels - Canadian traveller
Owner response:Thanks for your input. We never use what you call "furniture moving pad" as we only use quality quilted bed covers. Sorry I don't understand. We have since made the following improvements: Brand new leather sofa bed with deluxe mattress. New seating chairs and stool have been added as well as brand new pots and pans. The existing table unfolds to seat 4 comfortably and you may have not noticed it. The beds are of hotel quality so I guess your discomfort may have been subjective as everyone else enjoys them. These improvements were made in Januray. The entire apartment has also been repainted in February 2012. Check other guests review who love the apartment !

W had a most enjoyable stay in this apartment. The manager & his team were very helpful getting us to & from the airport, & into the apartment. The apartment was quiet & well located between 2-3 Metro lines & the RER trains. The Raspaille Market was close by to stock up for the kitchen, the Kayser Boulangerie & Patisserie are just downstairs on street level, a couple of chocolatier's & a grocer are a few minutes walk down the street & many restaurants, cafe's, & shops all around the apartment. Of course, the Luxembourg Gardens is a wonderful place to start or end the day.

My goal this trip, in addition to a nice vacation with my wife, was to give my kids the chance to fall in love with Paris. This apartment fit the bill wonderfully: Pascal made everything easy from initial contact through check-in and departure, the apartment was attractive, and the location could not have been better. For other Americans trying to decide on a Paris neighborhood, the threefold perks in my experience were (a) it's a "real" Paris neighborhood, not crawling with fellow tourists, (b) the people we met in the neighborhood were warm and accommodating, and (c) the bakery next door to this apartment and the restaurant downstairs from the apartment were delicious, inviting places where we immediately felt welcomed. Located near the end of the Jardin du Luxembourg, it's an easy walk to the touristy areas yet just enough removed to be a nice retreat at night (or for a morning walk in the Jardin) -- and the nearby restaurants where Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Stein and that gang hung out offered a fun opportunity to talk with our kids about Paris' literary history while lingering over a meal or grabbing a croque monsieur and armagnac while watching the world go by. In short, I felt the total package of the apartment, the location and Pascal's approach made for a very, very nice stay.
Owner response:thanks so much for your kindness. It was just so nice to have you here. Hope to see you again thanks Pascal

We recently returned from our stay in Paris. Pascal was a dream to work with on renting this apartment in the 6th arrondisment of Paris. We were looking at two different apartments he manages, and are so glad he steered us here. The neighborhood is quiet, clean, easy access to many things, and sits above a fabulous bakery and a cafe. I awoke to the smell of fresh croissants each morning, wafting over the rose-filled courtyard below. The apartment is clean and neat, the only very minor complaint being that the shower water was a bit irregular in maintaining a temperature, and for some people it may be trouble to have just one bathroom (it was no problem for us). It is outfitted beautifully with antiques and modern conveniences in good balance. It is within walking distance of Blvd Montparnasse, where Hemingway's restaurant haunts such as Closerie de Lilas and other perfect venues exist. The photos and description are accurate, Pascal is a dream, the apartment is good, the location is outstandingly perfect, and it is very within reach of many places, either by foot or metro. We even loved the driver that Pascal arranged for us, as far as airport transportation goes. I would not hesitate one bit to recommend this place. Thanks again to Pascal for making this a wonderful experience!

Our stay at the Interlude apartment at New Years 2011 was an enjoyable one. Although the apartment is small, it served our purpose wonderfully. Before even leaving home, our contact person was most helpful while arranging our stay, promptly answering any questions I had about our first visit to Paris and arranging for someone to greet us and taxi us to and from the apartment. I had read some horror stories, so having confidence that our arrival would be a positive one was important to me. The apartment is very neat and clean. I wish there was more seating in the living room, but we didn't hang around the apartment for that long. The couch is not that comfortable. The apartment has two bedrooms - one with twin beds that accommodated our two teen-aged children. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. After very full days of walking around the city, this was very important to us. Most importantly, the location is very quiet. We are not used to sleeping with traffic noise, and the sounds from outside were non-existent. The kitchen is tiny, but well-equipped. We were able to make a few simple meals, and bought coffee and groceries for breakfasts. There is a wonderful bakery two doors away that meant we (almost) got our fill of baguette and croissants! The best thing about this apartment, for us, is the location. It is away from the hustle and bustle of central Paris - where we spent our days. We aren't afraid of walking, and this location allowed us to walk everywhere except out to Versailles and up to Montmartre. RER and bus stops are within 3-10 minute walks. Most major sites we visited ( Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Notre Dame, Rue de Moufftard, Saint Chapelle, Pompidou, Rodin Museum), could be reached within a 30 minute walk. The Eiffel Tower is a 45 minute walk away. I think I would take the bus back from there the next time I visit! This allowed us to get a real feel for the city, the neighbourhoods, the shopping areas and the sites. The main boulevard of Montparnasse is a 10 minute walk away and has many restaurant choices. I couldn't believe how many of the different arrondissements we managed to visit or walk through! I would highly recommend this property to travellers who don't need to be in the centre of everything. It was the perfect location for us. I am so glad that my original choices close to the major attractions didn't work out. This location allowed us to get a greater feel of the whole city.

We had a lovely five days in this apartment over Christmas 2010. It was a great size for our family of five and it was lovely to stay in a typically French styled apartment. It was conveniently located and very close to the metro which we used all the time. It was great having the washing facilities and also the french bakery on the corner was lovely to be able to get fresh pastries for breakfast. We would recommend this to others considering a stay in Paris. We had a great time.

This apartment was not clean and the noise level from surrounding restaurants during the night was loud. The photos do not represent this apartment well. Upon arrival, we did not have the bare necessities like toilet paper and soap which required a search in the neighborhood for a marche to pick up these items. The bedding was dirty as well. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone. The price should have been half the amount.
Owner response:False review from a client who did not actually stay at the apartment and sent someone else who wanted money back as they could not afford the accomodations. There are no restaurants and no noise at all at this apartment. You can only smell fresh bread from a local bakery. We use only clean linens obviously. Have been in business since 1999

We had a wonderful stay in September of 2010. The location of the apartment is tremendous--a few steps from the Luxembourg Gardens and a RER stop at Port Royal. Even better is a wonderful bakery next door, though be warned you maybe awoken at 5:30 by delicious smells wafting up through the courtyard. The apartment itself is very nice with plenty of space for 4 people and comfortable sleeping quarters.

Highly recommended. My wife and I and our two sons enjoyed our stay at this apartment in mid-March. The apartment was clean and well maintained. It's in a great neighborhood and right near the RER/Metro and Luxembourg Gardens. The property manager was very easy to deal with; very helpful.

We stayed in the apartment Christmas 2009. It is a wonderful apartment in a very nice area that is close to everything-bakery, shopping, RER, restaurants, and park. We enjoyed every minute of our stay in Paris. The apartment allows you to feel immersed in the culture. We were 6 people(4 adults and 2 kids. However, the apartment is much better suited for only 4 people.

This is a wonderful apartment! My daughter visited for a week in September, 2008. Fall was in the air and the weather was everything we had hoped for. The apartment offers everything that you could possibly need and is as "charmingly French" as I had wanted it to be. The location is superb - beautiful & practical. Pascal, the manager, was of invaluable help to us from beginning to end. I would be happy to rent this apartment again & again. With a wonderful bakery next on the corner and a very friendly and helpful man at the little bar right outside the front door, we were able to have wonderful breakfasts and to ask for directions whenever we needed to.

We just want to thank you, Pascal, for the wonderful stay we had in November. The location near the Luxembourg Gardens is wonderful. With metro, RER, grocery shops, Kayer Boulangerie, and many fine bistros nearby, this apartment is situated perfectly. We had a wonderful visit. Even the transportation strikes could not interfere with your efforts to welcome us. Regis sprinted to meet us since the metro was interrupted, and he was there to greet us, and set us up for a great stay. The apartment is very lovely, modern, gleaming, and most comfortable. We really appreciated the extra space of living room and kitchen to relax; we did feel like a good friend had planned everything for our comfort, from the completely furnished kitchen to the mini-library of Paris guidebooks and pamphlets. It was so superior to staying in a hotel. We hope we will be able to stay here again! Thank you for arranging for our airport driver as well. Serge and his professional skills as a master driver and guide make him a wonderful Parisian ambassador. Arriving at the peak of the strikes, our worries disappeared when he met us at the airport, expertly navigated traffic, kept in communication with your office and delivered us at the apartment with cheer and humor. When we visit again, we will depend on the professional and conscientious talents of you and your colleagues. Merci Beaucoup!

I wanted to thank you (belatedly) for a wonderful stay at your home right before the Christmas '05 holidays . We truly felt at home in Paris. I've been there many times, but this time we brought our 5-year old. He loved the "little blue room", and we loved our bedroom with a wonderfully comfortable bed. We took advantage of the kitchen, the great shower (pressure excellent!) and the lovely living room with DVDs allowed me to play French DVDs to my son all week long! We'll be back before too long, I hope! Danielle

Once again rentalfrance has come through for us with flying colors in adding to our stay in The City of Lights. This apartment has outstanding quality and beautiful furnishings, excellent beds (and that's important!), a great location and convienent metro stop all steps from your front door. The neighborhood is very fashionable and extremely quiet and safe. The agent Pascal is ever the gentleman and volunteers to help you with all the needed logistics and secrets of Paris to make your stay even more special. I give them my highest endorsement. Don't hesitate to email or call with further questions.

Wonderful apartment in every way! The kitchen is fully equipped, as is the bathroom, the beds are comfortable, and the whole atmosphere is charming. The decor is lovely and the location, perfect - with a marvelous bakery two doors down and two eateries, a bistro and a restaurant, both with excellent food, within steps of the entrance. We were near the RER and within walking distance of more places than we could possibly visit during one trip to Paris. We would absolutely stay in this apartment again!

Charment, in the true sense of a Paris apartment ! The kitchen is modern, the bath is deluxe, furnished with everything you need, including Pascal who can help you with anything. Located in a lovely "neighborhood" where everyone is speaking french because they are residents. Fabulous bakery, walking distance to wonderful restaurants, easy from the airport on the RER, next to the Luxenbourg Gardens. Clean, quiet, comfortable - a real gem.
