Shoebox Cottage is a great retreat for enjoying the Saugatuck/Douglas area. The cottage is very clean and well-appointed. Each bedroom is beautifully decorated with plenty of storage and comfortable beds. The six of us were very comfortable and enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants and shopping. We would return.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

What a fabulous place for our annual girl's weekend. The shoebox cottage has all the amenities you could want. Everything was upscale and clean. Wonderful atmosphere. The town of Saugatuck was warm and welcoming. I'd highly recommend the Bloody Mary's at the Hotel Butler and would definitely stay here again.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, girls getaway.

Annual Girls Weekend! The Shoebox Cottage was the perfect locale for our annual retreat. We enjoyed walking into town, the coziness of the cottage and the spacious, relaxing patio. It was a perfect fall weekend in Saugatuck. We're already anticipating a return trip next year. The only thing we will do differently next year? Bring our own soap! We were surprised that the house was lacking some of those basic amenities. Overall, however, we had an enjoyable stay and would recommend this vacation home to friends. It would be a good spot for 2-3 couples, a group of close friends or a single family with older children (e.g. over the age of 10).
