Why the Owner Chose Chalet Village
We started visiting Gatlinburg years ago and made it an annual thing. We really love the mountains and the historical settlements like Cades Cove. We often travel with our good friends and co-owners Terry and Marilyn Leeper. Together we just realized one day that we liked Gatlinburg so much it would be nice to have a vacation home there. We named our home "Bear Mountain". It is actually located on Ski Mountain. We looked at more than 25 homes before deciding on this one. The view is so outstanding. We walked in and collectively said "Wow!" and we knew this was the place.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet
"Bear Mountain" is very quiet and private. We enjoy that and it's closeness to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the National Park. We enjoy sitting on one of the decks with our morning coffee or after dark and listen to the quiet. It's a very peaceful place. And when it's time to eat we can head out to one of the great restaurants!

Just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had! You house is great, the view is AMAZING, and there is a lot of privacy! I try to make it to the Smokies at least once a year and by far your place has all the others I have stayed in beaten on so many levels! I know what will be my first choice from now on. Thanks for the hospitality!
Owner response:Thanks Linda!! Everyone loves the view. When we were looking for a home to buy in Gatlinburg last year we looked at many homes and when we saw this one that was it! We love to sit out on the deck and enjoy the peace and quiet and the mountains. The view never gets old because it is always changing with the season and the weather! Thanks again!

My husband and I stayed at this chalet in November. We really enjoyed the view. It snowed one day and we sat in the living room with the fireplace going and watched the snow fall. The location was also wonderful. It is just minutes from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We can't wait to go back this summer with the whole family. Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your chalet. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Owner response:Thanks for your comments. I love to sit out on the covered deck when it rains. For snow, I like your idea of staying in by the fireplace!

We absolutely loved our stay at Bear Mountain! The view was amazing, and the area is quiet and peaceful. Looking at photos of the property and scenery on the website is like going back for another visit. The house has everything you need, and it is located so that access to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is easy. The Gatlinburg area has lots of lodging options, but when we go back next time, we plan to stay here again--the first time we've ever stayed in the same place twice.
Owner response:Thanks! We are at Bear Mountain now and decorating for the holidays. There's not a bad time to visit the Smokies!

A Long Weekend In Heaven!

I have been going to the Smokies for years, but I can honestly say that my recent long weekend at Bear Mountain Cabin was the best visit I have ever experienced there. The cabin was spacious and clean - everything you need for a weekend or week in the mountains. What is beyond description is the view. I don't think there are words to describe the view of Mt LeConte from most every window of the cabin. One day I sat outside on the deck for hours watching the clouds roll in over the mountains. I left Bear Mountain Cabin rejuvenated and ready to return to the busy world in Atlanta. You don't want to miss staying here. I know I will return...again and again.
Owner response:We also love to sit on the deck and look at the mountains. Changes in the view can occur almost minute by minute. You can see how the Smokey Mountains got their name when the mist rolls in. Sometimes when it is going to rain you can see the rain approaching from miles away. Thanks! Our guests are the best!

If you are looking for a perfect vacation home- this one is it! The house was great. There were 5 in my family- myself, my daughter and her three boys. This home couldn't be better. There was plenty of room- we got in the hot tub and played pool every night after we cooked dinner. The location was great- weather we came up by the Galtinburg Welcome Center, or the other side that puts you right by the entrance to the park. We even had a mama bear and her three cubs sleep not 25 feet from the house one night. I couldn't believe my eyes. Every morning I'd get up as the sun was coming up and the first thing I would do is head for the deck and look around the woods for creatures. One morning I looked off the side of the deck ( to the left if you are facing off the deck) and there were two black things on the ground. It wasn't very light out yet, so I thought I was seeing things. I went in and woke up my daughter and told her, "I may be seeing things, but I think there is a bear out here by the house". and sure enough, there was a mama bear, then her three cubs were sleeping all together. The hear us and woke up, the mam bear came up to the post of the deck and stood up and the babies followed (OMG)! then they went under the bottom deck and came out the other side and walked off in to the woods. It was worth the whole trip! I would highly reccommend this house and location. We went to the Titanic (really cool) , Wonder Works (funfun), Magic Quest (the kids loved it) , Ober Gatlingburg, The Dixie Stampede, picnics in the park, walking trails, shopping, eating fudge- we did it all. It was a wonderful and a wonderful house and again, a perfect location. I have told all my family and friends if they are going to Gatlinburg, I have the perfect house!!
Owner response:Thank you! We love it when our guests have a great vacation and our house was a part of it!

Arriving late Sunday night, getting to the house was an adventure on the mountain road but with the sunlight came our astonishment for the beauty of the view and the location of the home. Away from the bustle of town but accessible to everything with a short drive. This home has been very honestly and accurately depicted and the owners were kind and down to earth good people. There were activities galore and we still didn't get to everything we wanted to do. Definitely consider a white water tour and a zip-line adventure if you have kids. Dick's Last Resort is an "interesting dining" adventure. We had the privilege of seeing a mother bear and 3 cubs one night and a very large perhaps papa bear another night on the road very near the home. We would have no reservations to stay there again or to recommend it to friends or relatives.
Owner response:Thanks! I'm glad the view made up for the curvy mountain road. We are going to try a zip line ourselves on our next visit!

We stayed at the chalet for our summer vacation and had a wonderful time. The house has a wonderful view from the deck, and was conveniently located to downtown Gatlinburg and the National Park. The house was clean and easy to get to. The shower in the master bath needs some regrouting, but otherwise, the house was very clean and well kept. The process of renting the house was very easy and Tom was very helpful to work with. The photos and description of the house are very accurate! We had a fantastic time and will be back soon to enjoy those wonderful views!!
Owner response:Thanks. The shower was leaking some water onto the floor and has been fixed. If any guest has any problem while there just call and we will have our local help check on it and they will promptly get professional help if needed. Come see us again!

This is a beautiful place to enjoy the majesty of the Smokies! The view is the best I have ever seen in the condos I have visited over the years. Tom answered any questions promptly...and is a great artist by the way! Our only disappointment was that we didnt see any bears!! Don,t hesitate...you will not be disappointed!

Your home is a beautiful getaway that definitely meets your description. The amazing view changes by the minute as the lighting and weather changes; I could have spent the entire week just absorbing the beauty of the scenery from the decks. I loved having the covered downstairs deck from which to enjoy the view even during rainstorms. The living room also looks out over the mountains, and I painted the view from there as well as from both decks. It was a treat to see your paintings on the walls! They added to the atmosphere and inspired me as an artist. The house was clean, comfortable, and a great place to spend time with our grown children. We explored the park and also just hung out and had family time at the house. I would highly recommend Bear Mountain, and if we go back to the Smokies, we will definitely stay there again. Thank you so much!
Owner response:Thanks! We are really pleased when our guests have a great time and really like our mountain home. Isn't it great being able to get to the National Park without going through downtown traffic? I have a couple more paintings I'm going to move to the chalet soon. Hope you can visit us again!
