We had a wonderful time! This chalet/cabin is very spacious, and had everything we needed. It was so nice to have three bathrooms and televisions in every bedroom. The best part though was definitely the breathtaking view; it is absolutely gorgeous, just stunning! This cabin is the perfect distance between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge; you can be to either one in just a few minutes. The owner is so nice and helpful, and he is very quick to return phone calls and emails. Thanks so much!
Owner response:Thanks for the great review!

My husband and I stayed at this chalet in November. We really enjoyed the view. It snowed one day and we sat in the living room with the fireplace going and watched the snow fall. The location was also wonderful. It is just minutes from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We can't wait to go back this summer with the whole family. Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your chalet. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Owner response:Thanks for your comments. I love to sit out on the covered deck when it rains. For snow, I like your idea of staying in by the fireplace!

We absolutely loved our stay at Bear Mountain! The view was amazing, and the area is quiet and peaceful. Looking at photos of the property and scenery on the website is like going back for another visit. The house has everything you need, and it is located so that access to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is easy. The Gatlinburg area has lots of lodging options, but when we go back next time, we plan to stay here again--the first time we've ever stayed in the same place twice.
Owner response:Thanks! We are at Bear Mountain now and decorating for the holidays. There's not a bad time to visit the Smokies!

I have been going to the Smokies for years, but I can honestly say that my recent long weekend at Bear Mountain Cabin was the best visit I have ever experienced there. The cabin was spacious and clean - everything you need for a weekend or week in the mountains. What is beyond description is the view. I don't think there are words to describe the view of Mt LeConte from most every window of the cabin. One day I sat outside on the deck for hours watching the clouds roll in over the mountains. I left Bear Mountain Cabin rejuvenated and ready to return to the busy world in Atlanta. You don't want to miss staying here. I know I will return...again and again.
Owner response:We also love to sit on the deck and look at the mountains. Changes in the view can occur almost minute by minute. You can see how the Smokey Mountains got their name when the mist rolls in. Sometimes when it is going to rain you can see the rain approaching from miles away. Thanks! Our guests are the best!

If you are looking for a perfect vacation home- this one is it! The house was great. There were 5 in my family- myself, my daughter and her three boys. This home couldn't be better. There was plenty of room- we got in the hot tub and played pool every night after we cooked dinner. The location was great- weather we came up by the Galtinburg Welcome Center, or the other side that puts you right by the entrance to the park. We even had a mama bear and her three cubs sleep not 25 feet from the house one night. I couldn't believe my eyes. Every morning I'd get up as the sun was coming up and the first thing I would do is head for the deck and look around the woods for creatures. One morning I looked off the side of the deck ( to the left if you are facing off the deck) and there were two black things on the ground. It wasn't very light out yet, so I thought I was seeing things. I went in and woke up my daughter and told her, "I may be seeing things, but I think there is a bear out here by the house". and sure enough, there was a mama bear, then her three cubs were sleeping all together. The hear us and woke up, the mam bear came up to the post of the deck and stood up and the babies followed (OMG)! then they went under the bottom deck and came out the other side and walked off in to the woods. It was worth the whole trip! I would highly reccommend this house and location. We went to the Titanic (really cool) , Wonder Works (funfun), Magic Quest (the kids loved it) , Ober Gatlingburg, The Dixie Stampede, picnics in the park, walking trails, shopping, eating fudge- we did it all. It was a wonderful and a wonderful house and again, a perfect location. I have told all my family and friends if they are going to Gatlinburg, I have the perfect house!!
Owner response:Thank you! We love it when our guests have a great vacation and our house was a part of it!

Arriving late Sunday night, getting to the house was an adventure on the mountain road but with the sunlight came our astonishment for the beauty of the view and the location of the home. Away from the bustle of town but accessible to everything with a short drive. This home has been very honestly and accurately depicted and the owners were kind and down to earth good people. There were activities galore and we still didn't get to everything we wanted to do. Definitely consider a white water tour and a zip-line adventure if you have kids. Dick's Last Resort is an "interesting dining" adventure. We had the privilege of seeing a mother bear and 3 cubs one night and a very large perhaps papa bear another night on the road very near the home. We would have no reservations to stay there again or to recommend it to friends or relatives.
Owner response:Thanks! I'm glad the view made up for the curvy mountain road. We are going to try a zip line ourselves on our next visit!

We stayed at the chalet for our summer vacation and had a wonderful time. The house has a wonderful view from the deck, and was conveniently located to downtown Gatlinburg and the National Park. The house was clean and easy to get to. The shower in the master bath needs some regrouting, but otherwise, the house was very clean and well kept. The process of renting the house was very easy and Tom was very helpful to work with. The photos and description of the house are very accurate! We had a fantastic time and will be back soon to enjoy those wonderful views!!
Owner response:Thanks. The shower was leaking some water onto the floor and has been fixed. If any guest has any problem while there just call and we will have our local help check on it and they will promptly get professional help if needed. Come see us again!

This is a beautiful place to enjoy the majesty of the Smokies! The view is the best I have ever seen in the condos I have visited over the years. Tom answered any questions promptly...and is a great artist by the way! Our only disappointment was that we didnt see any bears!! Don,t hesitate...you will not be disappointed!

Your home is a beautiful getaway that definitely meets your description. The amazing view changes by the minute as the lighting and weather changes; I could have spent the entire week just absorbing the beauty of the scenery from the decks. I loved having the covered downstairs deck from which to enjoy the view even during rainstorms. The living room also looks out over the mountains, and I painted the view from there as well as from both decks. It was a treat to see your paintings on the walls! They added to the atmosphere and inspired me as an artist. The house was clean, comfortable, and a great place to spend time with our grown children. We explored the park and also just hung out and had family time at the house. I would highly recommend Bear Mountain, and if we go back to the Smokies, we will definitely stay there again. Thank you so much!
Owner response:Thanks! We are really pleased when our guests have a great time and really like our mountain home. Isn't it great being able to get to the National Park without going through downtown traffic? I have a couple more paintings I'm going to move to the chalet soon. Hope you can visit us again!

The description of the property was accurate. The directions supplied by the owner were extremely helpful and accurate and his recommendation to arrive during daylight on your first night was one that was appreciated and now greatly understood. The location provides a beautiful view of the mountains even while in the mountains. The owner was easy to work with and provided immediate service when contacted during our stay. Hot tub was enjoyed after days of hiking trails and we enjoyed cooking all of our meals at the "cabin." Our main purpose for staying in this area was to experience the "Synchronized Lightning Bug" event that occurs once a year at Elkmont in the national park. Totally worth experiencing! Since we were looking forward to a quiet nature related vacation we found the SuperWalmart in Pigeon Forge on our way in before checkin at the cabin and therefore did not have to battle the traffic/crowds once we settled in. The location of Chalet Village, where the cabin/house is located, is perfect for getting to and from Smoky Mountain National Park within 15 to 20 minutes. You are totally able to avoid downtown Gatlinburg if you choose. If Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina is of interest, which is well worth the price of admission, it is an easy day trip from the cabin. It is approximately 1 1/2 hours from the cabin. Only minor inconvenience was there was no hairdryer available and the typical "starter" set of shampoo and soap that one receives when in a hotel was not available. So plan accordingly. Dishwasher soap as well as hand soap was provided. The pool and tennis facilities were excellent so be sure to take advantage of those amenities while staying in Chalet Village. It was a very peaceful and we would recommend this property to those looking for a quiet getaway that is also very convenient to Smokey Mountain National Park and Gatlinburg.

Bear Mountain cabin has everything you could ask for. Privacy, hot tub on covered deck, jacuzzi tub with view, fireplace, comfortable beds, and the outstanding view. Bear Mountain is equipped with comfort. We have stayed at several cabins throughout the years and Bear Mountain is definitely at the top of our list. It has everything the description says it has. The owners were wonderful to do business with. I would absolutely recommend Bear Mountain to anyone. We loved our visit!
Owner response:Our thanks to dee and all our other guests who have submitted comments. We can't describe Bear Mountain any better than you do!!!

We stayed at Bear Mountain Chalet this past week and the view just cannot be overstated; it is absolutely amazing. Plus, the bedding is top quality, the hot tub is the perfect temperature and the whirlpool bath has a window overlooking the entire valley below with a great view of Mount LeConte. This was the best place we have ever stayed in our 22+ years of Gatlinburg vacations.

We recently spent a long weekend here with another couple and both couples agree it was a perfect choice! As everyone says, the view is amazing- so relaxing each morning to linger over breakfast on the deck with the mountain view and the quiet. It is very convenient for access to town and the national park(but keep the directions with you getting out of the neighborhood-a little confusing at first). We spent time each day hiking and touring in the park- so nice to be so close to home at the end of the day. The house is clean, beds comfortable though a little firm, furniture comfy and art work a nice plus! We definitely plan to be back!

We just arrived back home today and we're already considering going back in October. The chalet was perfect and was close to everything we wanted to do including a hike in the park, the Jon Dee Hypnosis show, shopping, dining, etc. The view was amazing! We used the hot tub every night and our boys (ages 9 & 14) loved playing pool each night as well. Thanks so much for a perfect spring break!

We stayed at your place over Thanksgiving (7 years, 7 different chalets). Thank you for use of the chalet. Very nice place. Best ever. Your pictures do not do the view justice. I did not expect to look up from the kitchen and have such a beautiful, sweeping view through the great room of the mountains. Very special. The hot tub is laid out perfectly to enjoy the morning sun, and great view. Thanks again for this excellent website/information, wifi, and accomodations.

Just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had! You house is great, the view is AMAZING, and there is a lot of privacy! I try to make it to the Smokies at least once a year and by far your place has all the others I have stayed in beaten on so many levels! I know what will be my first choice from now on. Thanks for the hospitality!
Owner response:Thanks Linda!! Everyone loves the view. When we were looking for a home to buy in Gatlinburg last year we looked at many homes and when we saw this one that was it! We love to sit out on the deck and enjoy the peace and quiet and the mountains. The view never gets old because it is always changing with the season and the weather! Thanks again!

Bear Mountain exceeded my expectations. The view was absolutely amazing! We couldn't find a better view anywhere else in Gatlinburg (and we looked). The Chalet was very nice. The three floors with separate bedrooms on each floor were really nice. The home was clean and welcoming. The owners had very charming personal touches throughout the home. Our only regret was planning so many activities away from Bear Mountain. We will definitely be back and next time we stay in the Chalet more.

This was a great get-a-way vacation home. My girlfriend's family and I visited in mid July, and wished we had spent more time at home than out-and-about in Gatlinburg. The spectacular view and hot tube were our favorite ways to relax after a long day on the town. The chalet was very cozy and felt like home. We will definitely be recommending all of our friends and family to stay here! We can't wait to go back!

We had a lovely time in your cabin. It is so lovely. The view is the selling point and you should mention it more on your website. I would definitely recommend this cabin to friends. The Smoky Mountains were wonderful. Best wishes, Trina H., P.S. I love your paintings. Especially the one at the bottom of the stairs.
