Our cozy beach cottage originally built in 1927 is less than 200 feet from the beautiful, uncrowded sand of Silver Strand Beach and is perfect for a couple or small family who wants an affordable beach vacation!
Approximately 900 square feet including a bedroom with eastern king, queen sofa bed in living room, plus two twin beds. We have a yard with barbecue, lounge chairs and dining table and chairs.
The kitchen is fully equipped with full size refrigerator, range, and microwave. Satellite TV in living room. Park right outside the front door. We have boogie boards, beach chairs and plenty of towels, and a full size washer and dryer for your use.
**Age Requirement** No one under the age of 25 will be rented to unless accompanied by an adult or guardian/parent.

I have been staying at this cottage every couple years for about 8 years (last stay was 10/8-9/11), and realized I've never left a review! This is the perfect place for my own little getaway, and sometimes I bring my husband :-) It is clean, bright and airy, nestled in the friendly Silver Strand neighborhood (so no beach traffic or noise) and is just a walk down the street to the beach. It has been recently updated with solid flooring and reoriented. The little galley kitchen is well-appointed enough to comfortably cook for a small family/friends, and when the weather is nice (most of the time) the patio is the best place to settle-in. Washer/dryer, beach chairs & toys, everything you need is there. Small, but perfect!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children.

Our family stayed at the cottage for one month (Dec.'09 - Jan.'10). We liked the area generally and found the property spacious. It would be a perfect "crash pad" in the summer but because of the one wall heater it was chilly during the winter. The kitchen is rudimentary. Not easy to cook there unless you're BBQing outdoors. We did appreciate the owners' responsiveness when a couple things broke down: they are indeed easy to work with. However, there was an issue (presumably out of their control) which I have debated mentioning but now feel should be pointed out to future guests. There was a nasty bedbug infestation throughout the cottage that drove us all crazy. I hope it is gone by now; maybe it was just unfortunate timing for us.
Owner response:I'm very sorry that this guest was not satisfied; I only wish they had contacted me at the time so that I could try to remedy the situation, particularly about the bug complaint. I don't think they could have experienced bedbugs, as I have never had a similar complaint from any other guest before or since (including my family and friends), other than about an occasional ant issue (typically when food is left out), and my house is rarely vacant. However, to be on the safe side, even though it has been two years since this guest's stay, when I received this review I immediately called out a local and well respected pest control company who confirmed that there are no bugs of any kind, including bedbugs, in my house, and no evidence that there have ever been any. I'm not sure what kind of bites these guests experienced, but if such a problem occurs please call me right away so that it can be addressed; I would much rather address a problem while you are on the property than learn about it later. I want you to enjoy your stay!

Loved our time there! Was very impressed with the toys available...my grandson thought he was in heaven. Hope to go back again:) Absolutely loved the proximity to the beach and also the Kiddie Beach near the harbor.

I stayed here for two months while working in the area. I have to say it was a wonderful experience, I did not want to leave. I loved the house, the area was excellent, and the neighbors were really friendly. I had a great time and I would rent this place again.

The house was so cozy. We had 3 adults and 2 kids. Plenty of room and beds to crash in. Everything you need was there beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, beach toys, washer dryer. Nice comfortable back patio, short walk to the beach. The neighbors were friendly and fun. Property owners were easy to deal with, last minute request to bring my dog was okeyed. The dog really had a good time, she was so cute on the beach. Everything went well. Priced right.

ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL!!!! Very spacious and comfortable cottage in a very nice and quiet area. Everything you will need from home and then some. The owner is attentive, prompt, and a pleasure to work with during the rental process. The home was exactly as the pictures suggested with a few extras that were very nice. I will NEVER stay in a hotel again!!!!!

Simply wonderful all around. Owners are very easy to work with, place has everything the four of us needed (washer/dryer is a big plus)and was very comfortable, location is close to beach which also kept the afternoon temps very pleasant, stores are a short drive away. Whole family would love to come back out again. Would easily recommend for all, even those with kids as there are plenty of toys.

The owners of the property were a pleasure to deal with and the cottage itself is quaint and charming. A good house for young children as there are toys in the extra bedroom and lots of buckets and shovels. The outdoor shower has hot and cold water. Short walk to the beach. A peaceful retreat.

This place surpassed all of my expectations. Truly a lil' beach house within a few steps to the beach. Currently updating, but not losing the character that I desire from a "beach house"! Definately would stay here again if I am in the neighborhood because of it's location and inexpensiveness. Thanks Silver Strand!!!!
