Enjoy a real getaway in a new home that is located on a private way on a real island that you get to by ferry (holds 17 cars). The house, located down an "S" shaped dirt/gravel driveway, is hidden from the road so you really have privacy. The house is a barn style home. What a surprise when you enter. Immediately you will see the ocean and lots of windows and sliders. The views from most rooms are spectacular looking out to the ocean only 85 feet away. You can hear the waves as they splash against the rocks from each of the 4 bedrooms, and the dining, living and kitchen areas. In the mornings, you can hear and see lobster men on their boats picking up their catch and setting and dropping their traps. You can walk down to the rocks and sit or stand on them. Places for swimming or boating are a 3-mile drive away.
Accommodations include two large bedrooms with desks downstairs with queen beds; two large bedrooms upstairs each with two twin beds. There are two large bathrooms with granite counters, showers and a standalone bathtub in one of them. There is one bathroom upstairs that has a combination shower and bathtub. The kitchen is easy to work in, with granite counters, refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal and a view of the ocean while you prepare your meals and snacks. Front Loading large capacity washer and dryer on main Floor.
Enjoy a 42 inch HDTV with a DIRECT TV Satellite hookup or view movies with a VCR. DSL computer set up for your computer(s). The furniture is arranged so that you can view the ocean in most spots. You feel like you are almost on the water. On those occasional hot and humid days, you have air conditioning to get comfortable.

Magical Swan's Island Home!

We have made about 5 visits to Swan's over the past 7 years and wanted to try a new area of the island. This home was perfect for our family vacation. The home is hidden from the gravel road so it is very private. You can see a bit of one neighbor's house from the property but other than that, you feel very secluded. There are two bedrooms, each with their own bath, on the main level. They are separated by the common living area so each bedroom feels very private. Upstairs there are two more bedrooms and one bath. These rooms are separated by a loft space and the open loft area to the living room below. All of the bedrooms have views of the ocean. The house is well decorated, clean and new. There is a large deck off the back where we enjoyed watching the ocean spray on the rocks below. The kids in our group loved climbing on the boulders by the ocean. The internet access was wonderful. We had absolutely no problems during our stay here and the owners were very friendly and easy to work with. We were glad we rented an SUV for our stay as the driveway is a little steep, however, I'm sure we would have been fine in a car as well. We would highly recommend this property for a family or a couple. It's both magical, romantic and an overall wonderful place to enjoy your stay on Swan's.
