Fresh and cozy, with great Dutch character, this studio in central Amsterdam also has its own small garden to enjoy the outdoors. The garden has also a way out into the street. Two vibrant floors of bright space, interesting design pieces and soft furnishings, with wooden floors throughout, are perfectly balanced by its sunny garden.
This charming studio will give you the feeling of being home while visiting Amsterdam and is suitable not just for relaxing but also for working.
Neighborhood and location.
The apartment has a very laid-back setting, in a typical old Amsterdam canal house near to trendy cafe's and shops in the newly fashionable Docklands area and near to Plantage Buurt and IJ estuary.
If you are coming by car you can park your car in the street or in front of the apartment if possible. The parking P + R Zeeburg is not far away. It's about 10 minutes by car and to return to the apartment you will get tramtickets. To return to the apartment you have to take tramway 26 which is in front of P + R Zeeburg station and you have to go out the first stop ("Rietlandpark") and walk in 5 minutes to the apartment. It's very easy. The costs of a P + R station are € 6,00 for 24 hours and parking in the street costs € 21,00/24 hours, Sunday and public holidays it's free parking. (I'm sorry for the € 21,00 for parking in the street but parking in Amsterdam is very expensive except parking by P + R stations)
The city beach "Blijburg" is at about 10 minutes by tram/car/bike from the house. North Sea beach (at Zandvoort) is 30 minutes by train, train stop very near to the beach.
Public transport nearby, tram line 26 (5 minutes walk) takes you to Central Station in just 7 minutes, or tram line 10 (at 30 meter and with many stops to go out at interesting places) takes you in 10 minutes to Leidse Plein. During this drive you can enjoy the beautiful views of Amsterdam.
The Music Hall at the IJ live music venue on the water's edge of the IJ estuary, or the mill brewery 't IJ, Netherlands Maritime Museum, Tropenmuseum, Theatre Factory, Dapper Market, Artis Zoo, Shops, Supermarket, Bakery at 100 meter open 7 days a week from 7:00 till 19:00, Breakfast -and lunchroom at 20 meter, Restaurants,(also take away > delivery- at 30 meter) are also located nearby in this up-and-coming area and on walking distance. Tram line: 26 stop: Rietlandpark (=3rd stop from Central Station); Tram line 10 stop: 1e Leegwaterstraat (around the corner).
Living area
The open lounge has 1 sleeper sofa (140 x 200), 2 lounge chairs, coffee table, display unit, photo prints and plenty of natural light.
Its dining suite has a table and trendy lounge seating for 4 persons.
The garden with table and chairs for dining and lounging has also a way out into the street. If you rent a bike (many tourists do so) you can shelter them in the garden. It's very easy to discover Amsterdam by bike and there are several places where you can rent a bike.
Kitchen
Apart from providing a complete set of kitchenware, the kitchen is also fully equipped with: refrigerator, freezer within, gas cooker, microwave/oven, coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher.
Bed- and bathroom
On the lower floor there is 1 double bed (160 x 200) and one extra campbed for one child or adult(adult quality) storage space, table with chairs, with access out into the garden.
The bathroom has a walk-in shower, washbasin. The w.c. is separated.

I stayed here a couple of months ago on my own and was very happy with the accomodations. The family neighborhood was welcoming and peaceful and the tram was right outside the door. Bike travel was simple and I could go anywhere in the city! And having the garden in which to store my bike was perfect. Willy was such a wonderful, accomodating host. Couldn't have been happer. I will be back! Catherine

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in this apartment in September 2011. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The location was quiet and convenient to the tram and local restaurants. We rented bikes and were able to store them in the garden area. Don't miss 'rush hour' on a bike in Amsterdam! We especially enjoyed meeting Willy, she was very helpful and caring. This apartment was a real find. Thank you Willy!

We stayed in this lovely apartment for two weeks this spring and it was a delightful experience. The apartment is perfectly located within the city centre, but away from all commotion. The tram is directly around the corner providing easy access to any part of city. The apartment was clean, bright and comfortable - with every convenience one might need thoughtfully provided. We completely enjoyed our stay here! Thank you, Willy.

I cannot say enough positve abouut this apartment! The owners have thoughtfully provided for all needs. Every detail is well organized. It is very close to #10 tramm and 10 minute walk to # 26 tram line making the centrum very accessible from either the outer canal ring or from Central Station. Shopping is a brief walk away as well. Having rented more than 15 apartments throughout Europe I can easily say that, overall, this one wins first prize!

Great apartment - clean, neat and tidy with all the conveniences one would have at their own home. We came to the apartment after a stay in a one star hotel undergoing renovation in Paris and we were so relieved. Thanks Willy, an absolute pleasure. Well located.

Thank you Willy for providing such great place. A completely foreign city, our debit card quit working on arrival, 2 days without cash, and yet... we felt safe and secure in your apartment. When I come back to Amsterdam, I will book my trip around availability of your apartment. I highly recommend this apartment. It's clean and better than advertised. I didn't realize until we rented this apartment, how important it is to be so close to the tram lines. 1/2 block away and we could get to everything. The biggest bonus - the owner (Willy) was great to deal with.

Willy- We loved the location of your flat and all the items it had to offer particularly the fully stocked kitchen and linens. So easy to get around town from your location, quiet setting, close to the grocer and a lovely windmill. If I ever go back we will be sure to stay with you again. By the way, Alba was really great!
