A great week exploring Bald Head Island

We really enjoyed our stay on the island. The condo is nice, 3BR but it is a little cramped. You can't even shut the door to one bedroom because the twin beds take up so much room. The decor is very nice. We really enjoyed being on the creek and watching the Tides come in and out. We put the crab pot out every night and loved catching the crabs every day! We put them back of course! We rented paddleboards and enjoyed doing that right off the timbercreek boat launch area. We used both clubs but found the Shoals club better as far as beach access and pool quality. The highlight of our week was doing the turtle watch. We saw 2 turtle nests hatch and one turtle come ashore and lay eggs. It is an experience our kids will never forget. We ate at Ebb and Flows which was really good--great atmosphere and we loved watching the boats come and go. The grocery store was adequate but I recommend bring as many supplies over on the ferry as you can---it was easier than I thought. We had a golf cart issue but the owners responded quickly and resolved it. My daughter even left her sunglasses there and the cleaning lady mailed them to me. Overall we loved Bald Head and the condo...the only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the mosquitos were terrible!! I know the owners had no control over that but we literally could not walk outside without getting attacked. Even doused in 25% DEET we all got severely bit. I think they were worse being on the creek than on the beach.

We have been going to BHI with large family gatherings for 10 years. A second trip (who can resist the unique charm of BHI!) was scheduled for just the two of us this year in the fall. We researched at great length, since we know the island very well and targeted our get-away for TC 2B located in the beautiful marsh area of the island. Wow! We have experienced the marsh area during our kayaking over the years; but we learned fast how magnificent it is to stay for a week and witness the natural wonders of such a setting. Having said that, the accommodations at TC 2B greatly impacted the total experience of our visit. Gary and Judy kept every detail in mind when planning their "home away from home." The personal touches were evident everywhere, and we felt that we were gaining a sense of the two of them. It made for a warm and comforting experience. We were amazed at all the little details thought about for a visit from two or a visit from an extended family with little ones. This has been the first kitchen in ten years that had all the amenities - and of excellent quality for cooking and baking! The location within Timbercreek itself is great and offers a view upstream and downstream to capture the ebb and flow of the tides. We had access to all of the island's vistas with this prime location. Our week was full of fishing, biking, swimming, and touring. Even scheduled a great fish charter throughout all the coastal marshes north of the island ( including Buzzard's Bay); and, yes ate our catches back at the house! A must for everyone is to ride your bikes along the beaches of BHI at low tide. We headed north off Access 42 - a secluded area - and still never made it half way up to Fort Fisher area :-( The Fall is a beautiful time at BHI. We'll have to plan on 2 weeks next year!

This condo was even more gorgeous in person. Flawless decor and breathtaking views! We spent many hours during our week long honeymoon just enjoying the views from the den. Picture Perfect in every way, wonderfully relaxing and convenient to any amenity. The owners were very professional and pleasurable to work with. I would recommend this holiday home to any couple or family looking for a great vacation and a new experience!

Our first stay at the island was disastrous so it was a relief when we found this rental. It was very clean and I really loved the decor and the upgrades throughout. One of my favorite things was to sit in the living room with a cup of coffee watching the sunrise through the french doors. The sunroom and the additional deck to the side were very clean and I didn't have to worry about spiders, etc...a real phobia for me! The pictures posted are an accurate representation of what you will find and I would strongly recommend this rental to anyone. I've already talked to Judy about using it again next summer! When I go on vacation I just want to relax on the beach...the beaches are wonderful, clean and not like the crazy congestedness you would find in say Wilmington, etc. It's perfect if you like to bike or run and actually it's enjoyable just driving the golf carts around. There are a couple of cute shops on the island and a few restaurants. The food at the Shoal's Club was good...better so than Eb and Flo's. The Maritime Market has essentially everything you need for groceries and the little food station they have has a good variety of inexpensive food choices (pizzas, sandwiches, etc.). All and all it was a wonderful experience and I can't wait until next summer~!

We loved timbercreek 2B. It gave us the perfect jumping point for kayaking, cycling, my daughter's obsession with wildlfe and 'catching crabs' (which means catching in her net and then letting them go). We loved the Bald Head beaches and hope this trip is first of many as a family. Owners have done a lot to this condo to make it upscale. Recommend some a new frying pan and coffee maker, but the views and gorgeous furnishings make up for small things. The marsh is simply amazing - more noise coming from birds than anything else. You can't beat that for a TRUE getaway!

My wife and I recently got married at Orton Plantation (stop before you get on the ferry) and spent our honeymoon at TC2B.... Judy and Gary have done a wonderful job renovating this condo! First, it does not have the feel of a condo..... wonderful open kitchen (more in a minute) that connects to the living area... all of this is surrounded by a wall of windows that looks out onto the tidal creek..... even though they have a home theatre with surround sound, we spent most of our time on the screened in porch reading books and watching the wildlife..... The kitchen was quite impressive, and with the marble countertops and sub-zero fridge, you feel like a chef.... we cooked several meals and enjoyed breakfast on the porch.... They are gracious hosts, from a complimentary bottle of wine down to spa soaps and shampoo in the bathrooms (VERY nice btw), they even called to check on us and answered our calls when we had a question.... we enjoyed our trip so much that we just spent another week on the island and chose to rent from them again..... I cannot recommend this condo any more highly! It feels more like a home than a rental... Two thumbs up from us......

What a beautiful way to intiate us to Bald Head! Our first trip was far more than we anticipated. Your place is outstanding! It took a while to figure out the range but our masters' degrees kicked in eventually! Hoping to visit again in 2009. (Molly's MOM)

The Pierces from New Hampshire were here with 7 year old grandson. Activities centered around the swimming pool, boardwalk which provides abundance of crabs & other interesting creatures - favorites of little boys - and the beach past the gazebo where the creek leaves the river. A perfect place for a little boy to play. Beautiful sunsets. Birds of all descriptions. Look for the painted bunting in bushes around the property. We got to see a loggerhead lurking in the waters at the head of the creek, possibly waiting to come ashore and lay eggs. A Happy time! The Pierces
