We enjoyed our stay especially the warm electric blankets on a cold night. The house is clean, beds comfortable and has everything needed to cook a meal and relax. The owner ,Jerry, was wonderful to work with. It was easy to find and reasonably priced.

We forgot to sign the guest book at the house, but really enjoyed this property. It was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. The boys (5 and 7 years old) enjoyed exploring the property, surrounded by rich foliage. My husband took the boys to the volcano while I recuperated from back surgery at the house. A really sweet place. We recommend the Jade House if you plan to stay anywhere near Volcano Natl Park. The price was was right, the owner was nice, and the location was private and beautiful.

There were 8 of us and we all enjoyed our stay at your home. The place is very lovely and is exactly as shown in your pictures. It was very easy booking and finding your place. Thanks for providing an extra futon as one of us didn't want to share a bed. After a tiring day walking the Volcano park, your place suited our needs. The Volcano Village restaurant was not open at 4:30 pm to serve us pizza so we ended up buying 3 boxes of frozen pizza next door at the convenience store and heated them up in your oven.

Our group of geologists stayed recently at the Jade house while we were visiting the national park. The house is well kept, with the upstairs being the nicest of the two rental options. The kitchen is well equipped, the pictures are accurate online, and the property worked very well for our somewhat large group. The owners were very helpful and kind though sometimes took a little while to respond. I would definitely visit again and stay at the Jade house. The surroundings are so lush and green, and the house is in a very quiet location. Two suggestions for visitors: Like most homes in Volcano, the house water is stored in a cistern. The owners provided a water bubbler which served our needs well. We did run a little low on drinking water - so we filled up our water bottles at the national park before hiking. This may not be a problem for most guests since we were a large group and did a lot of day-long hikes. I do suggest bringing inside shoes since much of the property is carpeted, and the rainforest soils are muddy.

This is an ideal place for a family reunion. Ours was a group of ten including three families. We rented both units. The house is conveniently located close to Volcanoes National Park and Village amenities. There are some good eateries in the Village. However, since we got rained in quite a bit, we chose to enjoy some meals in-house. The owners were accommodating. Overall it was a really relaxing and peaceful setting for our stay in Volcano.

Me and my wife Stayed at this awesome home for our anniversary. We could not believe how very nice it was. the cozy cabin like feel was perfect for the cold early spring nights. the fire place really made it feel like a home away from home. the location was fantastic. close to the valcanoe state park, hikes, lookouts, and traveling through the side was a breeze, and it was only a short drive right into hilo town with great food, and a beautiful bay. It didn't even seem like a long drive from here to go to Kona! The home decor was perfect. it is what you would expect for a home away from home. I have recomended this rental to all of my friends and family who have considered going to the big island of hawaii

COMMENTS MADE IN OUR "GUEST BOOK". "Thank you so much for the accommodations. We enjoyed it so much. Much love & aloha" Michael & Doreen I.Mar 08. --- "We are a group of 14 from Washington University in St Louis Missouri, studying environmental sustainability issues and volcanism. We loved Jadehouse, it is our second trip here. The accommodations here were lovely... from firewood to bathroom tissue to lots of fresh water." Jan 10,09. ---"We are a group of seven from Alaska and Australia. We have enjoyed our stay -- with perfect weather. Many thanks for the fruit basket & that interesting "rombuton"?, that was a first for most of us. Your house is very spacious & we really enjoyed the wood stove. The Park sure was convenient. Just not enough time to do all those trails. I guess we'll just have to come back!" Richard D. Jan 09. --- "Arrived around dusk... we were absolutely flabbergasted once we got here. This hidden gem provided everything we needed and we had two very restful nights here. The "extras" were an absolute delight and I know this is definitely a place I will come back to in the near future". Mahalo Sam & friends S. Feb 09
