My sister and I own this house that has been in our family for many years. We spent our childhood summers here and loved every minute. We loved biking, tennis, golf, and just roaming the beach.

Wonderful house in a super Location

We've rented this house for a couple of weeks in each of the past 2 years and hope to be able to continue renting it for many years to come. The owners' description in the listing is accurate--only the views are even more magnificent than the description and the photos can convey. When you look out the windows (which run all along the large living room and dining area) or sit out on the deck, you feel like the ocean is right there (which it is!), and you can see all kinds of birds flying by. There are other great views from the very comfortable bedrooms upstairs, and you can hear the waves from every room in the house. The house is in an incredibly quiet, peaceful location, and there are great walks you can take along the cliffs, along the beach, etc. The house is generally very well equipped and very comfortably furnished. The grounds are lovely, and the large yard behind the house (on the non-oceanview side) is mowed every week. Everything inside is neat and clean when you arrive, and the owners (sisters Fiona and Nancy) go out of their way to answer questions and provide helpful information and suggestions. There's a very reasonably priced fresh lobster market nearby and about a 10 minute ride away along the main road in Little Compton are several very good farm stands with great fruit and veggies--Walker's is our favorite, and it has a wonderful bakery next to it. We stock up on most of our other food items at a local supermarket in Westport, about a 25 minute ride from the house, but well worth it. We also love going to Goosewing Beach at the far end of the Little Compton Town Beach (called South Beach) because it has a long stretch of wonderful soft sand and an huge expanse of ocean as well as a Nature Conservancy behind it, with a pond and great birding-watching. We haven't used the kayaks yet, but are eager to try them when we get a little more skilled at seakayaking. For many years we rented a house on the Lower Cape (Cod), either in East Orleans or No. Eastham, or Wellfleet near the National Seashore Beaches and loved going there until they became very popular, with traffic jams going to and from the beach and thick crowds on the beach. Little Compton reminds us of what that part of Cape Cod was like "back in the day" 25 years ago. If you're looking for a restful, tranquil, scenic place to vacation, this is IT!

It is, indeed, very nice to be able to imagine ourselves sitting on the deck of the Radar House this June, breathing the fresh ocean air, listening to the sound of the waves crashing, watching the birds and boats go by, and being warmed by the sun.
