I visited (for my second time in Homer; 6/22-6/29) and decided I wanted to try a vacation rental in lieu of my friend couch. Let me tell you, this place is awesome! It's definitely well worth trying. I've even told all of my local friends that this place is where to stay for extended periods. There's EVERYTHING you need inside washer/dryer, full kitchen... 2 REAL bedrooms... Highly recommended and will definitely stay again. Owners are VERY easy to work with. Many many thanks!!!

My sister, two young nephews and I stayed here in June. I picked it because it was one of the more reasonably priced places that could accommodate all of us and was better than a hotel room to help my sister deal with the needs of a toddler. It is an older house that they have decorated and remodeled nicely. It was clean and offered everything we could have needed; the washer and dryer was especially helpful due to the ability of my nephews to get wet and dirty! The raised deck outside was large and great for eating and viewing the little creek. There is a playground a 5 minute walk up the road that was good for entertaining the kids (take a right out of the driveway, walk up the road and take the first right). There is a comfortable queen size bed in each bedroom and my sister managed to sleep easily with both my nephews in her room. The neighborhood was quiet and the place is surrounded by vegetation. It is only a few minutes drive from Two Sisters bakery which has some of the best baked goods in the state (I live in Alaska and have tried quite a few). The drive to the spit and the rest of town is short and if you had to walk you can get to food or one of the beaches within 10-20 minutes; the spit would take you longer, though. I would definitely recommend this place and will call them again if I need a two bedroom in Homer.

Creekside stay

The house was as advertised. I think farther from town as described and area around the creek was overgrown so you hear it as described but you really couldn't see it. I also tried to reach the owner the day I arrived by email as I had misplaced my instructions for when I arrived but didn't get a callback until the next afternoon. It was ok for a nights stay but nothing exceptional.
Owner response:We appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to respond. The cottage is located three blocks from Pioneer Avenue which is the main thoroughfare through downtown. The creek is surrounded by native foliage which most guests appreciate and prefer it for privacy. As you had stated we had in advance emailed the directions and the code to the cottage. You were also in communication with us by cell phone. We expect guests to contact via cell phone for immediate assistance or leave a voice mail message. The cottage is represented accurately and majority of our guests agree that it is a convenient location, comfortable and pleasant place to stay while visiting Homer. Thank you again!
