This apartment is lovely. It is clean and spacious and has all the luxuries of one's own home. The building is on a safe and quiet street and there is almost no noise from neighboring apartments. A metro station is one block away. There are small food markets, a patisserie, wine shop, flower shop and upscale boutiques within several blocks. The sun flows into the front windows in the morning and makes for a graceful start of the day. The infamous La Closerie des Lilas is within walking distance and Restaurant du Luxembourg is wonderful and close by (the owner spent some younger years in LA and speaks English). You can walk to neighboring arrondissements or use metro (our recommendation for all travel), bus or taxi. You can easily walk to the Seine if you don't mind a good walk. Some details: The bathroom closest to the room with double beds has a large shower, grinder toilet and plenty of space near the sink for cosmetics/stuff. The master bedroom has a shower connected and small sink with no area for cosmetics. There is a Bidet toilet in the hall with small sink (no area for cosmetics). There are 2 large, excellent quality umbrellas and 2 smaller ones we did not use. You will appreciate an "excellent" umbrella if you travel in rainy/windy months (no windy torrent could inside out these umbrellas!). Joe the manager will greet you, speaks english and is close by if you need him. Bring your own laptop if you will be using the computer a lot. When you go to Montmartre be sure to look for Joaquin (Jacques Desplanches) in the plein air area. He painted several beautiful pieces in the apartment and is a joy to meet. We miss Paris, would stay again and highly recommend this apartment.

This apartment is a fantastic find. It is in a wonderful neighborhood, quiet, non-touristy, and accessible to all other arrondissements by Metro or taxi. The owner has gone to great lengths to make the apartment both beautiful and extremely user-friendly for visitors. We felt so at home and had everything we could have possibly needed from well-appointed kitchen to computer, cellphone, books and recos on Paris. We were greeted by Joe, the local manager, who was very helpful in getting us oriented. Great place for kids and adults. We loved going to the farmers'market on Rue de Raspail, as recommended. Easy access to great bakeries and restaurants. Highlight was going to hear classical music at the church in St. Germain de Pres, Absolutely great experience staying at this apartment. We were sad to leave..

We had a delightful time at the apartment, thank you Peter. It was much larger than I had thought, as the pictures do not reflect the apartment as we found it. It is much nicer than we expected! It was quite roomy, very comfortable, and we were relaxed with our entire stay. We will definitely return to our new paris home on our next trip. It is always nice to have a predicatable place to stay. Thanks again!

This was our fourth trip to Paris over the years, but the first visit for our children, ages 10 and 13. Having stayed in Paris hotels and in another Paris apartment some years ago, we wanted the family to have a truly Parisian, and not a "tourist" experience, and similar to the city life we experience at home in New York City. We are fellow VRBO rental home owners (Martha's Vineyard, MA) and have high standards for ourselves and our renters, and we were looking for a comparable experience in a rental property. This wonderful apartment met and exceeded our criteria for a truly memorable stay. First: the apartment itself is sunny, spacious, clean and well-appointed. The owner, Peter DeCastro, and his local manager, have taken care of the "large and small" details that international travellers need, such as alarm clocks, hairdryers, free WiFi, shampoo, conditioner, comfortable beds and bedding, detailed walking maps and local dining and shopping recommendations, and even a lovely bottle of wine and a baguette upon arrival. Peter, himself, and his local manager, were responsive to our questions and a pleasure to deal with. Second, the location is fabulous, close to metro and bus stops, with the gorgeous, relaxing Luxembourg Gardens just steps away, and the bustle and convenience of Montparnasse within easy walking distance. This neighborhood is truly fantastic -- it reminded us of the best of Manhattan's Upper West Side. The "true test" is that we are planning to definately return. We highly recommend this apartment as a destination for a couples or family vacation.

This is a tasteful, well-appointed apartment in a great neighborhood that allows the visitor to experience daily life in Paris, visiting the local market to load up on fresh cheeses, breads, and jams for breakfast in the light, comfortable dining room; shopping at the local supermarket; dining at superb local restaurants under the Zagat radar; and buying chocolate at a world-class shop around the corner. Spending a week in this apartment is the opposite of spending a week at a hotel; the unexpected might happen, and the opportunity for experiencing a city as traveler instead of tourist is just around every corner. You are a short walk or metro ride (there are two stations within a few minutes’ walk) to the major museums and attractions of Paris. The apartment is a great place to rest, reflect, and recharge before heading out for the evening. The apartment layout is great for a family. Peter, the owner, has attended to the smallest detail and lavished love and attention on the original artwork, rugs, antiques, appliances (having a clothes washer/dryer means that you can carry-on your baggage), bedding, furniture, and electronics (a working computer and free wi-fi meant that I did not have to drag my laptop with me). The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms quiet (they overlook the courtyard). The apartment was immaculately clean when we arrived (we stopped by early to drop off our luggage on the morning of our arrival; no problem, Peter’s local agent was waiting for us at the time agreed in an email a week earlier). One thing that sets this rental apart was the contact that we had with Peter before our rental. He made certain that we understood the difference between living in this neighborhood and a center-city hotel, and that this rental was appropriate for our family (as it turned out, the neighborhood experience was seamless from ours on Manhattan’s Upper West Side). We developed a good rapport and understanding, and knew before we arrived that our experience would be great, which it was. Our only hesitation in giving the apartment a stronger recommendation is the fear that it will be booked the next time that we want to stay there.

This was the perfect place for us -- a family of five. Everything is just as it is described in the listing. Peter has thought of everything you need to make your trip easier and more comfortable. The laptop computer, cell phone, guidebooks, umbrellas, wheeled grocery cart, converters, notes about the neighborhood, fluffy bathrobes and a selection of English language dvds. We loved having two brand new showers. The location -- a beautiful building in a lovely neighborhood -- is very convenient. The two bedrooms were located on the courtyard which meant they were quiet and serene. No road noise -- we slept soundly. The kitchen is very well equipped. The washer and separate dryer were very useful. All the appliances appeared new and they all functioned perfectly. Plus the apartment is tastefully decorated with functional antiques. It was a welcome haven at the end of each busy day. If you are headed to Paris, this is where you want to stay!

Our stay at Rue Huysman was impeccable in every way!! Peter was a perfect host from our first communication all the way through our stay in his beautiful haven in Paris. The home is beautifully appointed and in the most wonderful location. The quiet one way street is very quiet at night and an easy walk to the Luxembourg Gardens, Market at Raspail, Blvd St Germain, St Sulpice.......... Private, convenient, mix of modern ammenities witth a personal collection of wonderful antiques, comfortable beds, two and a half modern bathrooms with excellent water pressure and hot water, the kitchen has all that you need amd more including the washer and dryer and a nespresso machine. I can't say enough about Peter and the attention that he pays to not only his home in Paris but to his guests as well, he clearly goes above and beyond all expectations to make you feel as though this is Your home, even going so far to stay in a hotel when he was in town on business while we were in the apartment! During our stay, there were four of us, ages 75, 50, 40 and 21 and the apartment suited all of our varied needs flawlessly! I have a great deal of experience with VRBO properties in the USA as well as internationally and my criteria/standards are very high, based on my experience I can confidentally give this home, the owner and our stay a 5 star rating.....with hopes that I have not rated myself out of it being available again for future stays! Whike this past visit was with extended family, I look forward to sharing Rue Huysman with a lively group of girlfriends! Oh.........safe, secure entrance, with a working lift and the stair access is very doable for all ages, we even met some of the other very gracious tenants in the building during our stay.

This is a beautiful and elegant apartment with every possible amenity and gadget. It was excellent on all fronts: plenty of room for the six of us, perfect location near the Luxembourg Gardens and dozens of restaurants and cafes, a helpful guy to check us in and out, and enough towels to dry an army. I would recommend it to anyone.

This apartment was fantastic! The owner has thought of every detail to make the rental a most wonderful experience. The owner was available for any questions we had before or during our stay. The apartment is perfect for a couple and two singles. The living area is elegant, yet comfortable and everything was immaculate. The bathrooms are very nice and modern. Even better than the photos! The neighborhood in St Germaine du Pres is the most perfect in all of Paris. The apartment is just a few steps away from the Metro Station for easy access to all the sights in Paris. There are Cafes and Brasseries galore in the area. We ate breakfast in the apartment every morning. We really felt like Parisians for our stay in this perfect apartment in the best neighborhood in Paris.

This apartment is fantastic! It is a beautiful apartment that comfortably fit our family of four. The owner went out of his way to make it feel like home- Including telling us where to replenish the coffee for the coffee pot. ( a tres chic store, well worth a visit). The location couldn't be better. It is on a very quiet residential street - 2 blocks from the Luxembourg gardens and surrounded by many boulangeries, fruit stands, creperies, etc.. It is also very close to several metro stops and an easy walk to Notre Dame. There is a wonderful market nearby 3 mornings a week- especially good on Sundays when everything is organic. We were all very sad to have to leave this wonderful place and would rent it again in a heartbeat!

Our family of 5( 11,9 and 7year old) would highly recommend this apartment .The owner Peter was a delight to deal with. He was very helpful in organizing our trip and even phone us in Paris to make sure everything was okay. His apartment is immaculate and beautifully decorated. It is equipped with everything you need. The bedrooms, the bathrooms, the washer and dryer and the kitchen are all outfitted with top of the line models. The location was ideal, we could easily walk to several fresh food markets and enjoy a simple meal in or take advantage of the numerous restaurants in the vicinity. We found the neighborhood safe, quiet and authentic. It was a treat to have Luxembourg park so close .We often started or ended our day strolling through the park .It is close to many other sights and the main bus stop and metro is just a block away. All and all it was a very memorable week for us in Paris and Peter’s hospitality and his apartment were a large part of that .
Owner response:Neil, Sharon and their kids are the fifth to visit the apartment from Calgary. I welcome more!

The apartment, while beautifully furnished with antiques and lovely oriental rugs, is totally comfortable. It's roomy, clean and extremely inviting. The quiet little street is very close to Metro & bus and every kind of amenity is within steps. For us, the proximity to Luxembourg Gardens is an overwhelming plus, and we walk there daily. I don' think we will ever exhaust what there is to see and do in the Gardens. It is an easy walk to many of the attractions of Paris and there are many lesser known but lovely things to see in the quartier as well. Dozens of restaurants are closeby and we are only 3 or 4 blocks from the cluster of well-known brasseries at Montparnasse - Le Dome, La Coupole, La Rotonde..... We can't forget to mention the awesome markets in the neighborhood, especially the well-known Marche Raspail - a gift to those who cook in at night! We are thrilled with the location in every way! It's hard to imagine an owner more accommodating and kind - he has been in frequent touch with us from the beginning to offer information and to see if anything is lacking. In fact, he has provided thoughtfully for every need we would have. Cannot say enough about his help in our stay! Without question we would recommend this property to friends and relatives - it is quite honestly all that it claims to be and more!

We visited Paris in September 2010 and spent 5 nights in the Huysmans Blvd. apartment. It was perfect for our situation, three adult single women. The apartment is very close to the metro, making it very easy to move around the city. This stay was in the middle of our two week vacation, and the laundry and kitchen made for a nice respite from our other accommodations. The park, restaurants and shops are very convenient. The pictures are true to reality. I wish we had more time to spend in the neighborhood, but seeing the sites of Paris kept us very busy. May next time we'll get more opportunities to explore.

Here is another review which a guest family left in the "livre d'or": Dear Peter We thank you for while we are in Paris and before we return home to California. The lovely chatter of children going to and from school each day, the view of the blue sky every afternoon, the breeze that cooled the apartment in the evenings, the restful quiet of the nights, the elevator, refrigerator, and washing machine, the patisserie, epicerie biologic-- all these splendors of the apartment and "les environs" made our stay at 8 rue Huysmans more than memorable. Oh! and we loved the buses ! While we saw and experienced so much of Paris in general, we will henceforth think of th is little "quartier" as our home. PS We never watched TV no time!

If the apartment is available stay here! My family of four and I were delighted to see how close this apartment is to so many family activities and things my husband and I could enjoy as well. For the kids, there are the pony and carriage rides in the Luxembourg Gardens, the puppet show, the awesome playground, the carousel. a huge fountain with sail boats, basketball and soccer. All these activities are within 5 minutes walk of the apartment. For my husband and I, there are the "grands brasseries" in Montparnasse, a trendy movie theater/coffee house, fabulous small gourmet restaurants, shopping at the fancy "bon marche", the Raspail open air organic market and St. Sulplice where they regularly have concerts and a flea market. Once again all within 5 minutes walk. Now about the apartment, it is a home not a rental. The layout couldn't be better. The furnishings first class. The extras: iPod dock, board games, kids and adult DVDs, 2 large flat screen TVs, the Nespresso coffee machine, wall blackboard in the kitchen, fine linens, etc. The place was perfect! The only criticisms I can think of are small. The elevator will only take 550 lbs and is tight. The mantle clock needs to be set. Other than that, the place is spectacular and highly recommend staying here.

Our family of 4 had a fantastic time in this very special apartment; so conveniently located, so tastefully appointed and so carefully attended by the caretaker, Franck. The magnificent Luxembourg Gardens are just a couple of blocks away for your morning jog... which should of course be followed by a fresh croissant and coffee to make up for the lost calories. The owner is knowledgeable and helpful, Franck is a wonderful and willing resource and the rest is well - Paris! Enjoy.

There is always some apprehension when booking over the internet - but there is no need to worry about booking this apartment - you will not be disappointed! It is spacious and luxurious wilth everything you require and Franck the manager was so helpful in booking taxis on our behalf and offering other information. The beds are comfortable, the linens and towels good quality, and the laptop and printer were very useful for online check-in and purchasing tickets etc. The second TV in the bedroom was great for the kids to unwind with a movie in their own space. Luxembourg Gardens is only a short walk away and the metro & restaurants are all close by. Eiffel tower is walkable (my 3 yo did it). We had no problems with noise and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. I will be recommending this apartment to my friends without hesitation. Many thanks to Peter & Franck for providing such a great apartment and service and a great stay for us in Paris.

The listing of this incredible property did not even begin to describe just how wonderful the location is. Located just a couple of short blocks from the most fantastically beautiful park and gardens I have ever seen. Marvelous tennis courts, lovely statues, flowers, a pond for children to sail boats, free concerts, wonderful safe places to run and walk are just a few of the highlights of Luxember Park. Another wonderful thing about the location are the excellent small markets, shops and the best bakery in all of Paris, Bread and Roses plus is an incredible farmers market just around the corner from the apartment. The description of the apartment itself was excellent and accurate. Actually, we were surprised that it was even better in person than what was reflect by the pictures and description. The property was very clean and will kept. This I think is because the people that live in the building and the management take great pride and care to keep everything emaculent. This is a lovely, safe residential area. You get the reak feel of what Paris is all about. Paul, the owner and Franc the manager could not have been more helpful answering all our many questions quickly and honestly. Franc was there waiting for us on our arrival. As we were three women traveling for a month in Europe, we had lots of luggage. To ease our arrival, poor Franc lugged our bags up the stairs, so that we could take the elevator. A real bonus in the apartment were the washer and dryer and the top of the line appliances with very clear direction on how to use them. There were even marvelous pastries awaiting us when we arrived. When we opened the cupboards we found spices, coffee and other things that we could use. The computer was very useful as I did have some business to conduct while in Paris. I could go on and on about how wonderful this property is. Obivously, the next time I am in Paris I will certainly stay here if it is available. I can not reccomend this apartment highly enough.

My family of 6 stayed in this beautiful spacious apartment for 4 nights in June.It is not only central but the area has a chic suburban feel with nice apartment blocks and great little patisseries and restaurants. It is only about 500 metres from the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens where you can jog, walk play tennis(balls and racquets in apartment)and 10 min walk from the Bon Marche. The location is fantastic and the apartment was well equiped and also had internet access and a computer which was extremely reliable.Even though 2 of the children were on the fold out bed this was not an issue as the living/dining space is large and there is also a TV in the second bedroom that creates another living space for children. The caretaker for this apartment was outstanding in the level of back up help and support that he provided. We are definitely keen to return and would highly recommend this apartment to our family and friends.

Me, my husband, my 16 and 12 year old sons and my six year old daughter totally enjoyed this apartment! It is beautiful and very comfortable!! It is very close to the Metro. My husband and oldest son enjoyed jogging through the Jardin every morning. The view from the window was gorgeous and I felt like I was in a dream. I can't even express my gratitude to Franck. He was so nice and helpful to us. He kept in close contact and was available for anything we needed. He emailed me maps and directions to several places. He greeted us at the apartment and had croissants for us and some other groceries. The shuttle service back to the airport was an hour late and Franck stayed with us and called the company to make sure we got on our way. He is just the nicest man!! He made us feel very comfortable. I highly recommend this apartment. If I ever have the opportunity to return to Paris, I will definitely be renting this apartment, if it is available!!! Thank you Peter and Franck!!

I have been to Paris five times. This was the best accomodation I have ever had. The location was very convenient to the Metro-maybe 100 steps! We felt extremely safe behind the double securtiy doors and on the fourth floor. We loved the short cut through Luxembourg Gardens to St. Germain, shopping and almost every destination! The listing photos do not do the apartment justice; it is by far much much nicer than even the attractive photos. My two teens were extremely comfortable in their bedroom and bathroom. The layout of the apartment makes you feel like you are in a large home, not an apartment in Europe!! The wonderful air conditioning in June made the apartment are own relaxing oasis. My daughter's friend flew in from Valencia and slept on the very comfortable sleeper sofa in the living room. The laptop and cell phone use gave us every modern convenience without having to carry it across the ocean. The sheets, towels, comforters, bathrobes, soaps, etc. were all luxurious. The beds were so comfortable after our six mile days!! The grocery store was around the corner and offered everything. I actuallly chose this particular owner because he was from California and understood American showers, beds, large spaces, etc. in contrast to European "space." The owner was extremely easy to deal with. The manager met us at the apartment and explained how to use things and where things were, which was extremely helpful. He was available at all times and got us our taxi very early in the morning the day of our departure. The apartment is well equipped with notebooks on bus routes, nearby restaurants, metro information, etc. It is a user friendly apartment! Not only would I recommend this property to friends and relatives, but I will definately stay here again.
Owner response:I am so fortunate to have had a number of really super families visiting the apartment.

We have stayed in many rental apartments in Paris over the years. Most felt like rentals, few felt like home. This one was home to us during our stay. The owner has taken great pains to equip and furnish this apartment functionally and stylishly (including lots good quality towels & sheets). The washer & dryer worked perfectly (we've had problems with them in many other rental apts). The location is wonderful - a nice and VERY QUIET small residential one-way street in the heart of the 6th arrondisement, our favorite neighborhood in Paris. The Luxembourg Gardens gate is only a five minute walk. We started and finished every day there. Two metro stations are very close & the farmer's market on Blvd Raspail is just around the corner. This neighborhood has many fine shops & restaurants within walking distance. We ate at as many restaurants as time permitted and we will send our reviews to the owner to include in his welcome book at the apartment. Franck, the property manager, is a great guy - very friendly & helpful, lives only a block away. We had lunch with the owner and his wife who were in Paris briefly during our stay. They are wonderful people. Nothing in the description on the website is inaccurate or misleading -- we wholeheartedly recommend this apt. Now the bad stuff...... We had only two weeks....We could easily have stayed a month. Next time!

What a great flat, even better than the pictures! This flat delivered everything we expected and more. From its well appointed period furnishings and creature comforts (espresso machine, microwave and washer/dryer), to the central location steps from Luxembourg Gardin, this flat has it all. Staying here made a truly memorable trip, and the flat was a great place to unwind have a glass of wine and pate at the end of a day of sightseeing. The flat is appointed with comfortable beds, nice linens and a well equipped kitchen. We stayed 10 days and made ourselves at home in the flat and the neighborhood. There are some true gems in the neighborhood from the world class bakery Bread and Roses to Michael Constant Chocolatier. The manager, Franck was a real gem arranging for cabs to and from the airport, day trips to Chartres and Giverny, and he made all of our restaurant reservations. He really went the extra mile to make sure we had a good visit. Be sure to get his restaurant recommendations. He arranged for us to eat a small local restaurant that was not in any guidebooks and it turned out to be one of the best meals we had (and reasonably priced). Thanks to Peter for letting us stay in this truly charming flat. It felt like home and surpassed all of our expectations. The only disappointment is that we could not stay longer!!

Our family of five stayed in this charming, elegantly appointed apartment the week of 27 March through 3 April. The convenient location and rich accommodations provided us with the perfect backdrop to live like a Parisian family for the week. Fresh croissants each morning, delicious crepes anytime and easy access to any desirable destination in the enchanting city that Paris is made for a wonderful and memorable family experience. Peter has done a masterful job in finding the perfect location and combining it with exceptional furnishings that create this really wonderful living space. We are already discussing a return trip.
Owner response:Many thanks for your comments. I hope you return soon.

Myself, my wife and parents stayed at Peter's place on March 13-21st of 2010.....after pouring through what seemed to be thousands of available places throughout Paris - we chose 8 Rue Huysmans. All I can say is that this place is nothing short of amazing! The location - impeccable - near the Luxembourg Gardens, maybe a 3 minute walk. The Latin Quarter is just around the corner as well - a very lively and entertaining portion of Paris. Access to the Metro or bus stops -are right around the corner. Food, entertainment, shopping, musees -everything - right at your fingertips. I can honestly say, that the pictures cannot do this place justice - all of the furniture, linens, appliances - everything is top notch. In addition, Franck, the local property manager is extremely gracious and can help you with anything you need during your stay. If you are at all debating other places - STOP. This apartment is the place you will soon call your home away from home

My family and I stayed at this lovely apartment Thanksgiving week 2009. We really enjoyed our stay in Peter's spacious apartment. We had plenty of room, the kitchen was great and Franck was extremely helpful to us. The apartment is in a nice neighborhood, very near a metro stop and bus routes. The bus is a great option when the weather is good. For a family of five, the apartment is a wonderful alternative to a hotel. Our trip could not have worked out better. We would definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity.

We enjoyed a wonderful week in this beautiful apartment with our 2 children between Christmas and New Year. Peter was very attentive and informative leading up to the vacation, and upon arrival we were greeted with the heating cranked up, a bottle of wine and information on the local area. The quality of the furnishings, carpets, linens etc was very impressive (and I am very fussy and difficult to please!) And the location could not have been better, within walking distance of restaurants, bars, great shopping - and for the kids the Luxembourg gardens at the end of the street provided daily entertainment. We were in Paris with friends who were so impressed with our apartment they have decided to rent it when next in Paris. And we wouldn't stay anywhere else!

I stayed here with my son and his family just before Christmas 2009. It was terrific. We were very comfortable and beautifully situated re. location. We also appreciated the English language DVDs that were available -- the kids sometimes preferred to stay "home" and watch videos and eat food we brought in, freeing the adults to go out for more interesting meals. A win all the way around. A terrific outdoor market was available S, T, Th mornings just a couple of blocks away. Regular markets, bakeries and very good restaurants were all in easy walking distance. I highly recommend this apartment and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This property was just as described and more.I was greeted by a congenial neighbor/manager with 10 shots of Nespresso, a baguette and wine. Then the apartment was truly beautiful and every detail was taken care of-oriental carpets, original oil paintings, quality antiques,DVD's and CD's,big screen TV's, first-rate kitchen implements, hard beds with down pads, towel sheets, etc. The owner spares no expenses to make us happy. We loved Glenda, the English-speaking babysitter for 10 Euros an hour! The only shortcoming was a small bathroom, whiich the owner is remodeling in January/febryary.I would highly recommend staying to any friend and plan to return with my family again.

Four of us settled into this lovely apartment after enduring a variety of cramped accommodations for almost 3 weeks while traveling in France and Serbia. What a welcome relief! The rooms were spacious, well-furnished, light-filled and comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped and had everything we needed, including a washer and dryer. The location could not have been better for us. We were within walking distance of so many of the sights we wanted to see and conveniently close to both Metro and buses for those that were further away. Our Paris experience could not have been better! Our thanks to Peter for letting us stay in this fantastic apartment and to Franck for his assistance in making our stay so stress-free. We will definitely be back.

I loved having an apartment rather than a hotel room when our family visited Paris. It allowed for relaxation time together and we enjoyed eating in for breakfast. The apartment is conveniently located within easy walking distance to several metro stops and Luxembourg Gardens. It was nicely decorated and haad everything that we needed for our time spent in Paris. I will go back to this apartment for my next visit.

This apartment is fabulous. It is very conveniently located to the entire city and has three metro stations and several restaurants and markets nearby. It has a lot of charm and the owner has worked very hard to think of all the five star hotel niceties.

We had the great pleasure to stay at this apartment in September. We have stayed in several apartments in Paris and this was the best by far. The apartment is beautifully appointed with all the creature comforts (including robes and slippers), a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, very nice furnishings and artwork. The building is quiet and conveniently located near a great farmers market, the Bon Marche and several good restaurants. The owner and his representative in Paris were exceedingly helpful, providing suggestions and doing everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The location is great, especially if you are traveling with young children as we were. The Luxembourg Gardens are a short block away and have all sorts of entertainment to keep young ones busy for hours. Two very close metro stops allow you to get wherever you desire in the city. We travel to Paris every few years and will hope to make this "our home away from home" on future trips.

We felt like we were living "at home" in this beautifully decorated apartment; it didn't have a rental feel. It had all of the amenities that one would need and it was nice for our family (2 adults and 3 kids between the ages of 10 and 16) to be able to spread out and relax at the end of a long day of touring Paris. It turned out to be a much better option than taking two hotel rooms - in terms of cost, comfort, and overall Paris experience. The location - 2 blocks from Luxembourg Gardens - cannot be beat, with great access to numerous Metro lines, as well. We have no hesitation recommending this apartment to visitors and look forward to returning again, soon. Both Peter (US) and Franck (Paris) are extremely responsive to any questions or issues that arise before or during the stay - and with lots of tips about what's doing in the neighborhood and City. I'd recommend this apartment without hesitation. Rob R.

We had a great time in this beautiful apartment! The only downside was that it was so comfortable that it was hard to get leave in the morning and tough to leave again for dinner in the evenings - so obviously we didn't cover as much ground as usual. But it was such a lovely experience; truly "living" in Paris. My morning runs through the Luxembourg gardens were some of the best moments of my summer. And the kitchen is amazing! Thank you so much. And thanks to Franck for all of his help.

I visited this apartment and can testify that it is a stylish, elegantly furnished, comfortable apartment in the best of Parisian styles. It combines a modern, uncluttered feel with antique furnishings of high quality. Add the quiet dignity of the neighborhood, the convenience to the Luxemburg gardens and public transportation (both metro and buses), and you have a place of very high quality in both convenience and beauty.

This is a quote for a family of five who came for 2 months and stayed for 12, from the "livre d'or " in the apartment. Quote I think it goes without saying that we would not have stayed if this wasn't such a great place. The location is the best, the neighbors are really tops. It is really the way to live in Paris as if you were really Parisian. Thank you Peter for everything. What an adventure.

We've just returned from a visit to Paris in this beautiful apartment. It was as wonderful as the pictures show and the neighborhood couldn't have been lovelier! We had our 3 teenage children with us and everyone was happy and comfortable. It was very convenient to several metro stations, wonderful bakeries, markets and the best crepes we had in all of Paris were right there on the corner! Mr. de Castro and Frank were great to deal with and very prompt returning our deposit. We went on to London from Paris and weren't so lucky with our accommodations there. I highly recommend that anyone renting from a website like this choose based on positive guest comments. If there are no guest comments, there may be a reason why. We unfortunately learned this the hard way!! Needles to say, Paris was the highlight of our trip and we will treasure our experience there.

I had the pleasure of staying at the apartment in February 2009 for a week and could not wait to recommend the place to friends and family. In fact, I am returning to the apartment for another week in August. This location is not only great for family with children, as it is a few mins walk to the Luxenbourg Gardens, but its close proximity to the Latin Quarter and world class shopping at Bon Marche also make this an ideal location for adults/professionals. In addition to the great location, the apartment itself is well equipped with full amenities such as free international calls back to the States, free Wi-Fi (very important for those who need to be on top of things even when on vacation). The kitchen is also set up for a full gourmet cooking experience. This is especially easy to do thanks to the open air organic market around the corner. The apartment also is located literally within a block to major transportation hubs, from the Metro to the Bus and the long distance trains. The owner has been accomodating with personal phone calls prior to the trip to ensure needs are met during our stay, including tips on where to visit and how to get around the city. I highly recommend this apartment.
