Take a deep breath and slow down your pace to enjoy Island Time.
This cottage is one story with an open floor plan and a well equipped kitchen. It sits on a double lot with a spacious deck providing a nice balance of sun and shade. It's only 300 feet to the shore with great beachcombing and an endless parade of varied vessels on the bay: tankers, freighters, sailboats, motorboats and lobster boats.
The small store and ferry landing is less than a 1/2 mile walk, and on the way is the small community library. Most of the coastline is rocky beach, but there are several sandy beaches for swimming or picnics, also many places for fishing around the island.
There is a nature preserve at the south end of the island with some summer programs and the Prudence Improvement Association has a variety of activities through the summer. 3/4 of the island is protected from development, and there are trails through the woods to explore. Twilight is the best time to drive around and spot our island deer. Beautiful sunsets from the west shore can cap your day.
The special relaxation of Prudence Island begins when the ferry casts off it's lines in Bristol and you feel the day to day worries float off behind you as your voyage to a special vacation experience unfolds. |
