Apartment in the Historic Center of Salzburg

Why the Owner Chose Salzburg
My apartments are situated right in the heart of Salzburg within the pedestrian zone. The building is a listed building full of charm and was already here long before Mozart!! Fortunately the apartments have seen lots of hard work and renovation since Mozart’s time! As you can see from the photos, they have all the modern conveniences, are very tastefully furnished and are only moments away from top attractions, restaurants bus stops and supermarkets – in fact, they are pretty much just downstairs!
Salzburg is a wonderful base for exploring places like the Austrian Lake District (Salzkammergut), the Bavarian Mountains and Eagle’s Nest, and of course the locations used in everyone’s favourite film – The Sound of Music!! Salzburg is home to music as it is the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. For classical music fans there are real treats in store, with concerts almost daily at the fortress and at the Mirabell Palace, not to mention the various music festivals taking place throughout the year.
But maybe you would just like to amble along the cobbled narrow streets and courtyards and take part in a real Austrian tradition – coffee and cake!! How can you resist the apple strudel! Or perhaps a stroll along the river Salzach or even a boat ride. The mountains dominate the skyline of Salzburg and are easily accessible by the efficient public transport system.
Salzburg is serviced too by its own airport, although Munich, Linz, Innsbruck and Vienna are also within easy reach by train or car.
Just ask me for all the best tips on where to go and what to see!
Owner's Map of Salzburg
I was born here in Salzburg and have spent the last 30 years working in tourism as a city guide, so I think it is safe to say I know the city pretty well!!!.
I love my home town and want everyone to experience the wonders Salzburg has to offer. I love to travel myself and understand what travellers expect of accommodation – good location, cleanliness, a little bit of luxury without having to pay too much!!!

Great Place in Salzburg

My wife and I stayed here and could not have been more pleased. The apartment is elegantly appointed; it is in a solid old building which has a good deal of charm coupled with all modern plumbing and appliances. It is within easy walking distance of all of the major attractions of Salzburg. The landlady is a wonderful host; she is very friendly, is articulate in english and quite helpful. She gave us very helpful suggestions regarding restaurants and about sights which still had their fountains flowing in October, the time of our visit. The window casings kept out unwanted sound but we could, and did, open them to hear the concert of the bells in the late afternoon. It is the perfect setting to get to know and enjoy Salzburg. If we ever have the opportunity to return to Salzburg, this is where we will want to stay.

It does not get any better than this unit/flat. I am a VRBO owner in Arizona, and my wife and I stayed in this charming unit over the holidays (12/19/11 - 12/23/11) and it was just what we had hoped for. First off the owner, Gabby, met us at 8:30PM at night. Our flight was four hours late, and still she met us with a smile. She showed us to the unit, and it is tastefully done. You will have all the ammenities of your home, and will not be dissapointed. The location is the BEST in town. You will not find a better spot. Salzburg is one of the most charming cities/towns you could imagine, and this flat is just the perfect spot to explore this fine city. I promise, you will not be dissapointed.

We were very happy with this apartment. It is in an excellent location that is close to all things in Old and New Town Salzburg and close to the bus for other places in Salzburg. The apartment is clean and well maintained, plus it has everything needed for meals and laundry. Gabi is gracious, welcoming, and always quick to respond to emails. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others! We loved it and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else! Such a good experience!

I cannot recommend Gabi and her apartment on the Linzergasse highly enough! We adored the apartment, and her manager was there to greet us with all the pertinent info. Rental was fast and easy, communication was excellent, and the accomodations were our favorite out of the entire trip. The location could not be more convenient. There are cafes, bakeries, groceries, shopping all within steps of the apartment. The street is lively at night, so light sleepers who want the windows open in warmer weather should bring earplugs, but with the windows closed, the apartment is snug and very quiet. There is easy elevator access, and the apartment is equipped with everything you need, including a washer and drying rack, which came in so handy since we'd been traveling for a week before we arrived! The bed is very comfortable--loved the downy linens! This charming apartment is better than any hotel we stayed at during our travels in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, and at half the price! This was our first vacation rental--don't hesitate if you haven't tried it before! It's so much better than a hotel, trust me!

We have just retruend from a trip to Austria and stayed in this apartment. Wonderful location, lovely apartment exactly as stated on VRBO. Both the owner and manager were extremely helpful. Restaurants of all diferent price ranges on that street along with bakeries and just a short walk to the square where we enjoyed lunch and lunch-time music a few times and a visit to the Fortress. As we had a car we had to park at th Mirabell Garage which was very safe and about 8 minutes walk - not a problem. Day trips from there for the Sound of Music villages not far at all. We had a lovely time thankyou Gabi and would certainly recommend and we may be back. Wilma and Glyn, Vancouver, Canada

My husband and I stayed in lovely Salzburg at the beginning of January 2011. The apartment was truly charming in every way, with all comforts supplied in an excellent location in the superb old town - walking distance to everything one wants to explore and experience; I would love to return to this fairy tale city. Gabi Frost is a fine lady, attentive to all of one's needs and we thank her for everything!

We just finished spending 8 days in this wonderful apartment in Salzburg. It couldn't be a better location. You can walk to everything. The train station is only a 20 minute walk; 5-10 minutes to "Old Town"; Mirabelle Gardens and Mozart's residence are almost around the corner; not to mention restaurants and shops just outside the front door. The apartment is on the 3rd floor with windows to the pedestrian street just below. The only disadvantage is the night noise when the windows are open. There is a lift to the 3rd floor. Fully equiped kitchen, washing machine, hair dryer, and flat screen TV and DVD( U.S. DVD's do not work on European DVD players). We would stay here again in a minute. Comfortable and great location!

My parents stayed in this lovely appartment for a week this july-august 2009. They found the place really nice and conveniently located, specially because they were going to several concerts during the summer music festival. They would recommend this appartment to anyone going for the festival and/or willing to stay right in the center of Salzburg.
