A cozy, cabin retreat, nestled on a wooded hilltop, overlooking the nearby mountains. A unique, one of a kind, deer themed cabin, with everything you need to unwind and relax.
The surroundings offer peace and tranquility galore. The front porch rockers entice you to sit and enjoy nature. Take a walk and enjoy its stream through the park-like picnic area. A romantic getaway for two, or a family retreat for all, nothing is left out of this exceptional property. Adults enjoy the peace and quiet. Children and adults all enjoy hiking on the property and watching the farm animals graze. June 2009 we have enjoyed our new wild baby turkeys roaming every morning. We had a great time staying in Deer Run for a long weekend in October. The cabin is cozy and very welcoming. We loved that we could sit outside on the porch and enjoy the foliage. If you are looking for a place to come to relax in nature, this is the place to do it. It is a approximately 20 minutes from downtown Asheville and 20 minutes from the main biking/hiking area of Pisgah National Forrest. The cabin also had all the kitchenware stuff that we needed to cook. We hope to come back again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

I cannot express our gratitude to Jim and Kelly for the wonderful time we had at the cabin. They made sure everything was as we needed it and even brought us over camping sticks to roast marshmallows to make s'mores. In the mornings we would sit out on the deck, listening to the rustling of the trees and the sounds of nature and feel like we were a million miles away from the world. Yet, when we got in the car, it was a short 5 minute drive back to reality and easy 10-15 mins to downtown Asheville. We cannot wait to come back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This was a wonderful cabin that is tucked away in a peaceful corner of the woods just five minutes from grocery stores and 15 minutes from the Asheville Outdoor Center where we went rafting / gemstone mining. I was very pleased that everything was so close, yet we felt like we were deep in seclusion. Stayed here with myself and my three boys, ages 10, 8, and 4, and they absolutely loved it, especially walking down to see the farm animals (the goats are very friendly) and having dinner around the campfire. The pictures don't quite do the cabin enough justice, because the cabin is really comfortable and well-stocked on the inside with lots of thoughtful touches and just about everything you need except for your toothbrush and food. Be forewarned that you will have to drive the car over dirt road -- a little bit of it quite hilly which made me initially nervous but was actually quite doable. The owners Kelly and Jim are extremely courteous and helpful. Would definitely rent again if we are back down this way.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and it was absolutely wonderful. You are awaken to the sounds of turkey’s gobbling, roosters crowing, and the stream trickling below. It was truly a relaxing vacation for us. It is only a short drive to all the excitement of Asheville but nestled in the woods away from the hustle and bustle. We sat on the front porch morning and evening relaxing and taking in nature. I got some great pictures of the turkey’s that were 100 ft from us. Not to mention all the birds that were in the area. The home was clean and just the right size for the two of us. Kelly and her mother were fantastic supplying everything we needed and more! We are already looking at dates for our fall vacation and hopefully this lovely cabin will be available.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Jim and I are the host of this property. We actually stayed here for Jim's birthday in March 2008. Even though we have helped our friend Sharon put this all together we enjoyed our 2 private nights so much. The peace and quiet was amazing. We don't often get to relax with busy rental cabins. We never left property.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
