The Grand Canyon Route 66 Cottage is located in the cool pines at 7500 ft in the Kaibab National Forest, this 2150 sq ft mountain retreat bordering National Forest land is the perfect place for a cool, relaxing getaway. View wildlife from the covered deck that wraps around three sides of this cozy cottage. From the trail head adjacent to the property, hike or bike one easy mile to the meadow to look for the herd of elk or watch Stellar Jays, hummingbirds, or bald eagles. Relax with a good book by the fieldstone fireplace or play a game of checkers in the "Route 66 Game Room". Visit restaurants, spas, museums, or arts and crafts fairs in historic downtown Flagstaff. Take the Grand Canyon railroad or Polar Express to the awesome Grand Canyon from Williams on historic Route 66. Children will enjoy the Deer Farm petting zoo. Winter brings cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snowboarding, and sledding. Children's snow play area is 6 miles. Snow Bowl is 30 minutes drive. Master bedroom features King bed and jetted tub. Two more bedrooms upstairs - one queen, and one single - have more awesome views of the pines. Additional sleeping in loft area. Satellite TV with DVD, VCR. Full size, fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, all appliances, and espresso machine. Bring your bicycles. Miles and miles of great trails for mountain biking adjacent to the home.
