We had a great time. The place is cute and works very well for a vacation. Close to bus if you want to do that to get to the beach but we walked because it's pretty close. Kathryn is very accessible and helpful. It was clean and we really have no complaints!

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Wonderful location - walking distance to the beach, third street promenade & santa monica place. Cottage was as described & clean. The owner was pleasurable to work with - gave clear directions regarding payment and relating to our stay and returned the refundable portion of our payment within 48 hours of departing the cottage.

Recommended for:Girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My cousin and I stayed here for a couple days and we don't have anything to complain about. The house was in a perfect location, just a 10-15 walk to the all the hot spots in Santa Monica. It's located in a very safe neighborhood. It's also very clean, and it's obvious that Kathryn does everything she can to make you feel welcome. I didn't experience any problems during my stay, but Kathryn kept in contact with me via email and reminded me that she would be immediately available via phone if I needed anything. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a simple, quiet place to stay at a great value!

The house is so nice and comfortable, inside there is whatever you need. The ambient is quiet, and the house is so clean. We spent very good time in this house!

very poor value

We pre-paid for 4 nights and walked out after one. We got a suite at a 4/5 star hotel for only $19 more. Owner seemed like a nice lady but she advertised A GPS rental (not available) and wireless access, not available. Th wireless might have been intermittently OK, but the signal was very weak, like it was from across the street. We had no luck with it. For toppers, the shower ran hot & cold and the ambience was "modest"

Owner response:I am sorry to hear that you didn't feel you got a good value. I had updated the VRBO website to remove the offer of the GPS many months ago and when you asked about the GPS a day before arriving, I realized that I needed to update my own website as well as it was still showing a GPS rental available. I had no idea you would be so disappointed, or I would have simply lent you mine. I have since updated the website to remove it. The wireless was available and when you called me after 10pm several times, you were actually calling from the internet phone in the cottage, so the internet was working, but I was so sleepy that I didn't actually make the connection until the next day. I was pretty certain the internet was working & I believe your laptop may have had trouble. No one else has complained about having trouble with the internet, the router is about 3 feet from the living room. I'll have to keep tabs on this & see if it's a problem, as I do understand that internet is important.

We enjoyed our stay at this accomodating cottage unit. Quiet and peacefull, close to the main city facilities. Warmly recomended!

It's easy to write a good review when everything goes right. However, we had some plumbing issues while we were there which Kathryn was incredibly prompt about fixing (no idea how she got the plumber there so fast). She helped us out for the trouble too. I'd certainly recommend it not only because it's a nice place for the money, but because if something does go wrong it won't turn into a nightmare.

What a lovely stay at your cottage. It was a home away from home and far better then any stay at a hotel. The beach is just a few short blocks away, coffee shops close by and much more! Thank you!

This cottage is well located close to the freeway access so you can easily drive from there to the main places around LA. The house is good for 3 people but you will have to accommodate if you are more. It is a nice play to stay for a short trip even if you don't get all the equipments like a dishwasher.

We just returned from our trip and we loved staying here because it was affordable and very well equipped with everything we needed.. It was clean and nice.. very beachy and we would stay there again esp. for the price...

This was a much better alternative to a hotel. It was great to come "home" to a quiet homey place after a long day of seeing the sights of beautiful Santa Monica and LA. If you like to walk, this location is key being 9 blocks or so to the fantastic Santa Monica beach(great views of the mountains) and wonderful 3rd St. shopping. A short drive to the fabulous Getty Museum and LA. The freeway excess is very close. I miss Santa Monica!

What a find!! Walking distance to Main Street and the Santa Monica Pier. This cottage is nicely decorated with a beautiful garden that is perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning sunshine. I highly recommend this place as a cozy base for your visit to Santa Monica!
