Alice and I (Matt) both work in the healthcare industry. We've lived in the northern Indiana/southwestern lower Michigan area for almost all of our lives.
Why the Owner Chose Edwardsburg
I (Matt) lived in the Yellow Cottage starting in 2000. I'd always wanted to live on the lake because of happy boyhood memories of my family renting cottages in the summer at various lakes in northern Indiana and Michigan. Alice and I got married in May, 2006, and while we both wanted to stay at Eagle Lake we needed a little more room. We were getting ready to add some space to the cottage when our elderly neighbors next door decided to sell their larger lake home. Being good friends, we purchased their home which we moved into in 2007. We were going to sell the Yellow Cottage, but the bottom dropped out of the real estate/financial markets in 2007-08. So, instead of selling we began renting the Yellow Cottage in the summer of 2008. The response has been terrific!
The Unique Benefits of this House
The house has a very warm and friendly feeling and an absolutely gorgeous view of Eagle Lake. Outside of holidays, the area is pretty quiet with just the normal hustle and bustle of the lake on weekends. This is a place to create good memories, have a barbecue, and enjoy friends and relatives. Or to just relax, read a book, and restore yourself. It's a nice getaway for a romantic weekend in the fall or spring, too.
