My husband and I rented this lovely, clean apt. in Aug. and were very pleased with it. It is comfortable and has every amenity one could ask for. Great location for walking downtown, close to a grocery store and on a quiet residential street. We would stay here again anytime.

I stayed here with my family of four along with a friend and her son for a week. It was a little crowded for six, but the owners provided us with a very comfortable and easy to use (and stow) Aerobed that made it comfortable for everyone. The unit has everything and the owners have gone out of their way to make sure all bases are covered (I opened a top drawer of a dresser, for example, and there were baby supplies). The unit is also beautiful with high quality furniture, appliances, dishes, etc. What we liked most was the fireplace (it was cold in the morning), the well-stocked kitchen, the plants and water feature at the kitchen window (great idea), the office work station that has everything (computer, printer, paper, even new printer cartridges) anyone might need, AND the reasonable price. Why anyone would choose a hotel room over this is beyond me. We also appreciated small touches, like fresh flowers on the dining room table, a bottle of wine, and a pound of coffee when we arrived. It is obvious that the owners take pride in giving their guests a great experience. I have stayed in many excellent VRBO properties all over the world over the past several years and I would say this is definitely one of the best I have seen.

We stayed a long weekend at this one-bedroom cottage in Mill Valley - two adults and two younger children. Everything was perfect, clean, neat and well stocked. There were even a couple welcome gifts that made the stay that much nicer. The place is only 3 blocks from the downtown Mill Valley center. We went to breakfast at the Toast cafe and I highly recommend it. We would definitely stay here again.

My family and I have stayed here multiple times now...it is perfect for us. We have family in Mill Valley and love the town. Our 5 year old son sleeps in the sofa bed and it works out perfectly. The place is clean, comfortable and has everything we need for our stay, and we love the fact that it is walking distance to town, yet it is never noisy or too busy. I have also stayed here with some girlfriends when we have come out to have a girls weekend away and it was again, just right for us. I know we'll be back!

My husband and I stayed at the apartment in early June and couldn't have been more pleased. Our son lives in San Francisco and we have stayed in the city in the past and opted to try Mill Valley this trip. Mill Valley is such a charming and picturesque town with so much to offer. The apartment was perfect and truly more enjoyable than staying in a hotel in the city. The apartment is everything described in the listing and more. A well appointed, clean, spacious apt. with everything you would possibly need for a comfortable stay. We have stayed in many VRBO's in the states as well as one is Paris and this has been our favorite! We will be returning.

My wife and I stayed here with our toddler son for a week long vacation / relocation visit to San Francisco. The place is an ideal location to use as a base for exploring Marin County. It is the perfect starting point for excursions to Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, Bolinas, San Francisco, and the wine country, all of which are short, beautiful drives from this location. We actually looked at places in those areas and settled on here because of the location next to beautiful downtown Mill Valley. Unlike more secluded getaways, when you get back at night, you and your family can walk around downtown and find plenty of nice restaurants, coffee shops, a bookstore, and other stuff to do. There are plenty of great breakfast spots to kick off your day too. And, in case you forget anything, there's Whole Foods, SafeWay, and a bunch of big box stores just down the way in Marin City. The place itself is very tastefully designed and furnished with everything you would want at a second home for vacation. We took our toddler with us, and he slept in the crib provided just fine. The washer, dryer, and kitchen are all convenient if you're traveling with a little one. There is everything you need if you want to organize a picnic for the beach or even cook a meal at home. We felt comfortable entertaining our friends from San Francisco there. For you runners, there are plenty of pleasant neighborhoods and trails to run too. Just a head-up to fellow southerners: Mill Valley, like most of Marin and San Francisco, is chilly in the summer time. My wife forgot this. :) Think fall in the mountains, not summer at the beach. Take a fleece and some layers. I was comfortable in a fleece and shorts. The weather was a nice respite from the 95 degree heat blast that welcomed us off the plane when we got back. Daniel was a gracious host and very helpful in giving us tips on the area. I would definitely stay here again and will definitely recommend it to family and friends who visit the area.

This is a great place to stay. The place is even better than the description or photos. It is in the perfect location on 1/2 block to town. It is decorated very nicely and it is equipped with everything you need for a short or even a long stay. All of your needs are met from 8 sets of towels, a washer and dryer, fresh flowers, down to little extra details like fresh coffee and a current selection of DVDs. The owners Daniel and Michelle are really nice people and so accommodating even though we really messed up on our reservations. Mill Valley is a great place to stay for relaxing, hiking, shopping, eating good food or quick trips into SF. With 3 kids, we only use VRBOs now. This one is great.

We enjoyed four weeks at this rental while vacationing in the Bay area. It was our first experience with VRBO, and we were quite satisfied. Everything was just as stated in the property description -- it worked out very well for the two of us, and for entertaining occasional dinner guests during our extended stay. Though there are street parking regulations immediately in front of the rental, we had no problem finding unrestricted parking within a block. Daniel and Michelle were exemplary “innkeepers” -- they quickly responded to any questions or concerns, were very respectful of our privacy, and were unfailingly thoughtful and considerate. We were glad that they live in the same house. We appreciated the location of the rental -- it’s less than a half-hour to San Francisco/Berkeley points of interest, and conveniently located for exploring the Napa/Sonoma wine country. We enjoyed the proximity of Mt. Tamalpais and Point Reyes -- both very lovely drives. We also liked walking to the charming “downtown” center of Mill Valley -- the village has a personality not found in more “suburban” locales. This rental will certainly be at the top of our list when we vacation in the area again!

This Mill Valley apartment was in a fabulous location - just as the description noted. Fresh flowers greeted us inside and even outside in the little garden nook. There was a bottle of wine, a pound of Peet's coffee and a variety of items that one might need in the kitchen pantry - so thoughtful! The apartment was very clean, had wonderful linens and was splendid in every way. I would recommend this property to a friend/family and will definitely stay here again. Top notch!

This very attractive, comfortable, and well-equipped apartment is perfectly located to enjoy the charms of Mill Valley, which is to be sure a very charming and vibrant town. Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, and the ferry to San Francisco are a short drive. The Archers made the arrangements very easy. This rental was a brilliant choice, if I do say so myself.

My husband & I traveled to the San Francisco area for a 2 wk. vacation from 9/28/10 - 10/12/10 in celebration of our 30th Anniversary. It was our 1st experience with VRBO's & we chose the Archer's property beginning the 2nd week, since Mill Valley served as the perfect "hub" for the many varied activities who hoped to enjoy. We are now forever spoiled by this one, that is "delightful in every way!!!" I am a detailed & particular traveler & was relieved that the photos/text/personal interaction w/ the host prior to arrival, proved to all meet & exceed my expectations upon setting foot on the property. I had a little concern, because the unit is slightly below the ground grade, that it might feel claustrophobic ~ in fact, the opposite was true with it's sunny & airy ambiance. Daniel's talent as an architect is evident in every square inch of this well-designed-space, & I don't know if I should credit him or his wife, Michelle, for the little things...flowers, coffee, & wine, which greet the guests. There was even an informational packet in the apartment, should any ?s arise during your stay. Nothing has been overlooked...seriously, nothing! It is so classy, immaculate, convenient...in one word, perfect. Parking on street was never a problem, even though we were there during the City's annual film festival, which is quite a draw. The unit is not air-conditioned & I mention this only because of the unseasonably warm weather we experienced during our travel dates. There was a fan provided & the windows were opened for flow-through ventilation; it was a nice discovery that the area is devoid of the mosquitoes & gnats that we experience in the Deep South that we call home. This property certainly deserves the "5 out of 5 ratings" that are consistent in the Guest Reviews! I'm ready to repeat this experience! (I would always suggest reading other travelers' comments re: VRBO's, which provide important insight when planning your trip.)

The listing description was very accurate and the photos were also spot on! We loved Mill Valley. The rental was a short walk to lovely little restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, The apartment has all you need to prepare your own meals if so inclined. This was a perfect "home away from home" for us to use as a base for all our 30th anniversary adventures! The Napa Valley is a short drive away and San Francisco is a short ferry ride from Sausalito!

We stayed here for three weeks and it was just wonderful. All the previous reviews about the cleanliness, amenities, convenience, owners' hospitality, etc. are right on. We would stay there again, happily. Public transportation to the city was very convenient. If you are a cyclist, both Sausalito and Tiburon ferries are an easy ride. Excellent grocery store, bakery and restaurants a short walking distance away.

What a find! Not only is this VRBO charming, well-appointed, and conveniently located, but Mill Valley provides a respite from the busyness of San Francisco. Redwoods and sequoias, huge palms and abundant flowers grace the town. There's a tiny private garden attached to 65 Sunnyside where we enjoyed wine (a welcome gift from the owners) and cheese (from the nearby well-stocked market). The apartment has a stillness that greeted us at the end of a day of hiking, along with a sizeable bathtub and a very comfortable bed with nice linens. Every meal we ate out was excellent, but we also enjoyed the convenience and ease making a few simple meals in the very functional kitchen. We've stayed in several VRBO's around the country, and this was definitely one of the best. The owners' quick response to my initial inquiry, their simplification in handling the paperwork, and learning from their listing that Daniel is an architect (who did the renovation) all contributed to our confidence in renting this property.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 week for our Anniversary. It is a lovely apartment with everything you could ask for. They think of everything. Having the computer was a big plus to look up different things and print off maps. It is close to SF and easy to get around. Only about 15 minutes to the wharf. This place is perfect. It is much more peaceful than being in the city of SF and we loved it. Would highly recomend you to stay. Having the washer & dryer was great. My husband and I spent most days in SF and surrounding area but came home to this lovely place each evening. Pay the extra for offstreet parking its worth it.

I am rather high-maintenance and do not give out unwarranted kudos. This place is perfect and managed with excellence - I will definitely be a return customer. The owners (who I happened to meet were very nice and thoughtful) take special care down to leaving fresh cut flowers, a bottle of wine and a bag Peet's Coffee for their guests to enjoy. It is classically appointed with solid and new everything. I was happy to find a computer in the unit as I had not brought mine. On top of everything being absolutely spot on, the location is literally 3 houses off Mill Valley's downtown and 1 1/2 block from the town square. The review section has asked me to address some specific questions: Was the listing description accurate regarding the location? YES. Did the listing photos accurately reflect the rental’s appearance and amenities? YES. Was the property clean and well-maintained? YES. Was the owner helpful in answering your questions or concerns? YES. Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative? YES. What nearby activities, attractions and restaurants would you recommend? The restaurant Toast is an excellent high-end diner.

Wow - what a great experience in Northern California last week! After leaving the hustle and bustle of downtown San Francisco my husband and I chose to stay in Mill Valley for the second half of our 12 year old son's week-long spring break adventure. The Archer's rental was perfect in every way . . . fresh flowers inside and out to welcome us, local coffee and a bottle of wine were the finishing touches to an immaculately kept and well-appointed living space. The rental offered just the right amount of room for the three of us to spread out and feel at home. Having access to a washer/dryer was much appreciated as well the on-street (better yet - free) parking! Mill Valley was a great hub for us to visit the natural beauty of the redwood forests and Pacific coastline one day, followed by a delightful visit to the wine country the next. The local restaurants were delicious and downtown shops fun to experience. Didn't want to leave. Thanks Archers! We hope to visit again sooner rather than later.

The owners are wonderful! The apartment is beautiful! Mill Valley is this adorable, unique, cozy and friendly little town. My cousin was married in May and most people stayed in town. We had heard about VRBO through a friend and decided to give it a try. There were 6 of us that stayed in the apartment. Although it is a one bedroom, the apartment comfortably slept all of us. The pull out sofa was large and the Areo-bed was very comfy. The whole process from the first inquiry into the rental to the return deposit was handled professionally with a personal touch. Michelle was so genuinely nice and helpful. She recommended restaurants, shopping, night life, barber shops and nail salons. All of which we tried and were completely satisfied with. The apartment was emaculate and was stocked with every necessity one could imagine. Fresh flowers, a bottle of wine and PEETS coffee welcomed us when we arrived. We would ABSOLUTELY recommend this rental! For a first time stay at a VRBO, it was an awesome visit and we will definitely be staying at one again. So, thanks again Michelle & Daniel for a wonderful experience and having us as guests. Ashley & Brad Young - Savannah, Ga.

This idyllic cottage retreat was the perfect accommodation for our weekend vacation treat to ourselves. Within walking distance we enjoyed fine dining, wonderful musical entertainment, delightful shopping, and gorgeous scenery including a trip to Pt Reyes Natl Seashore 30 minutes away. The cottage was immaculately clean, fresh in every detail (down to the fresh flowers), with more amenities than you'd find in a 5-star hotel setting. We enjoyed the fireplace, wireless connection, Peets coffee and nice bottle of wine provided to welcome us. The bed was comfy cushy and linens plush, to make us feel pampered. We'll certainly return and we would definitely recommend this to our friends and family for a special "date weekend" to enjoy this delightful little jewel of a city.

hi, great location, great accomodation. as a family ( we had an 8 yr. old and an 11 yr old ) we could walk to old mill park or even cascade falls and see all the great redwoods from the house...you don't even need to go to muir woods! Dipsea trail is very close to house, as well as peets coffee which opens at 5:30 am for all you jet lagged east coasters visting and rising early. house space is very well organized and lacks for nothing. good light into space even though it's below the main house. my english wife loved seeing teapot and tea on arrival as well as the wine and coffee. Space is very well laid out and feels very spacious. We are particularly grateful to Daniel for allowing us to change our arrival date at the last second due to airline delay/chaos. that was spectaculary nice daniel, thanks!

My adult Daughter and I rented this wonderful place from May 15-19, 2008. The photos and information on VRBO are very accurate. It is an exceptional place to stay 1/2 block to downtown Mill Valley for wonderful dining and shopping. We arrived during a heat wave (99 at Oakland airport) but found the rental to be quite a comfortable temperature and remain that way. We were in Northern CA for a graduation in San Francisco and to visit with family in Berkeley. We had family come to visit us and love it as much as we did. Having the iMac was very helpful for looking up places to eat, finding our way around, traffic, etc. The owners were so nice and helpful. We would happily stay there again and recommend to our friends and family. Valerie
