Map & Owner's Profile
Panoramic Views from 4,100 Feet! a Lovely Mountain Chalet
Year Purchased: 2004
Why the Owner Chose Waynesville
We have owned a vacation home in this community since the early 80's. We love Walker-in-the-Hills so much that we purchased additional property in the 90's and had our permanent home built there in 2002. We purchased this wonderful chalet in 2004 from our neighbors, Harry and Ruth Bliwernitz, in 2004.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet
The view! It's a beautiful view looking to the east toward Waynesville. The home is just far enough away from the city that you see the church spires in the day and the magical beauty of twinkling city lights at night. There's a lovely pond next door where we encourage you to feed the fish - no fishing please. The community is made up of everything from small cottages to large, beautiful mountain homes. It's quiet and peaceful with a special ambiance and character of its own. It's situated on the eastern slope of one of the highest and most beautiful mountains in the Appalachians, Mt. Lyn Lowry.

We had a great time at 136! It was easy to walk in and immediately be "at home". The Personal touch in furnishings and accessories provided by both of you is excellent. The Chalet is just what we needed, giving Gary, Brandy (our 5 pound POM), and me plenty of room. We loved the deck, sitting outside each evening watching the clouds and occasional showers. The temperature was perfect for us to escape the heat at Hilton Head Island. The humming birds were very entertaining with their protection of the feeder. We played about 12 rounds of golf at some great mountain courses. We also discovered Clyde's Restaurant as the best breakfast place around. Nico's was a great place for sandwiches, Bogart's is great for everything.

Thank you so much for letting us stay here again. We all have so much fun. From going to the swimming hole to relaxing on the couch, we had many adventures. Everything is wonderful - don't change a thing! My Mom and my Dad had their 15th anniversary here. Last year they had their 14th here. It is now a tradition!

Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. The tranquility was delightful. Everything we could have wanted was here. We felt as if it were our home. We also enjoyed the ducks on the pond.

Loved the view, the house and the location. We spent many an hour on the deck enjoying the hummers and the weather. Loved the hiking on the Blue Ridge and even in the subdivision. Played a lot of golf (Waynesville, Maggie Valley and Smokey Mt. CC). Great mt. courses. The accommodations were really perfect. Ya’ll have thought of everything. Our children loved the yard and especially the deck. They were very curious about the huge catfish and the chorus of the bull frogs. We got spoiled w/ this 4000+ elevation. Hate to leave…

7/3/2008What a wonderful home in this beautiful country! Our stay was very relaxing and your home was cozy and comfortable. We had a couple of rainy days, and it was nice to relax here and watch the clouds. Our Boston, Abby, had a great time too. She enjoyed playing Frisbee in the front yard and sunning on the deck in the mornings! We’re so glad we found you on VRBO.The Squillace’s
