Aloha, you have chosen one of the most beautiful islands in the world for your vacation and have discovered one of the more stunning natural properties on the island.
It is rare to find a property that will give you the experience of a trip back in time to the charm of old Hawaii.
Beautifully furnished with antiques from Asia, accented by local furniture and charming retro Hawaiian prints. The cool beautiful Ipe hardwood floors both inside and out allows a seamless flow of both living spaces.
This home is designed for privacy with all modern amenities. Relax on the lanai and enjoy the charm that is old Hawaii.
The five acres surrounding the property include many different tropical plants and trees. Citrus groves can be seen from the lanai along with Pappas, Bananas and cocao trees. The entire five acres are sprinkled with the coco palms that represent the coconut coast of Kauai. A stroll about the five acres will reveal many exotic tropical delights for the eye and palate.
We are located just a short drive (less than a mile) from Kealia beach, perfect for swimming and surfing - The new 10 ft wide 4.3 mile ocean front bike/walk path. Located 1.5 miles to the heart of old town Kapaa, with its huge selection of restaurants markets, and shops.
This home is comfortable for two couples with its two private baths, or a small family. Your holiday on Kauai will provide memories for a life time and Aloha Plantations will enhance your trip and hopefully inspire many return visits. Mahalo

This was our second time renting this vacation home, which says a lot already. We stayed for a week in July 2009, and then for two weeks July 2010. We love the peaceful, lush and beautiful grounds, as well as the house; it's clean, airy, beautifully simple and elegant, and well thought out. It has everything you need (including geckos) and nothing you don't (like cable tv--who needs it? You're on Kauai.) It's well maintained, and you feel right at home the minute you arrive. This is important: the beds are really comfortable, and the linens are soft. The owners are thoughtful and kind, as has been our experience with their chosen caretakers. There is a caretaker on-site, but they have been friendly, considerate, and inconspicuous, and I think the presence of the caretaker provides security for both the home and the guests. If you're into it, and in pretty good shape, you can rent a bike and ride from the house to the beach or into Kapa'a town. Kauai Cycles has good bikes. You could actually walk to the beach, but unless walking is your thing, you probably won't do it. I think a tourist in this spot needs a car to get around. There's information provided at the house to let you know which restaurants and activities the owners and caretaker like best. We loved Kintaro for sushi, and the Oasis for local, organic, fine dining on the beach. We also loved buying fresh fish right from the back of the fisherman's truck and grilling them at the house. Foodland was our grocery store of choice, and Da Kine Wine was also visited more than once. There are too many great hikes and beaches to mention, but you'll find them. It's a serene place, and probably not the place for someone looking for a late-night, party scene. Actually, I think Kauai is the wrong island for that. Anyplace with that many chickens around should let you get to bed early. It's an early to bed, early to rise, go outside and play kind of place. And when you do go out, the owners have even left sunscreen and bug spray for whoever needs it (you do). The locals we met were relaxed, friendly and helpful, and glad to answer our questions and direct us to the good places to go. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking to relax and experience the island, and live like a local for a while. I cannot think of a thing I disliked, except leaving to come home. Aloha!

We absolutely LOVED our stay here! It truly couldn't have been better. The photos are 100% representative of this lovely plantation home. Surrounded by gorgeous trees, it feels like you're in an extravagant tree house. Being located on the east side, it was the perfect location for day trips to other parts of the island. If you're looking for a great location, privacy and a beautiful house on stunning property...look no further. You can even pick your own flowers and fruit! Plus, the owner (Rita) is extremely nice and is very responsive via phone and e-mail if you have any questions. I really can't say enough kind words about her or this rental experience. If my husband and I are fortunate enough to visit Kauai again, we already know where we'd want to stay. I'm not sure why others who've stayed here haven't taken the time to write a glowing review. Actually, they're probably just hoping to keep it their own little secret. :-)
