Our family of 4 with 2 teenage boys had a fabulous stay in the Carriage House. The property was very nice - very clean and furnished with everything we needed. The location was great, with Aspen/Snowmass just 20 minutes down the road, a grocery 3 miles away (City Market) and rental equipment available in Basalt (Basalt Bike and Ski). It made for a great family trip. The owner was prompt in handling requests and everything was exactly as described. We hope to return again.

Christmas at the Carriage House

The carriage house was a perfect place to spend Christmas with our family. Lovely views, grocery shopping is convenient, and it is an easy drive to Snowmass and Aspen. We enjoyed the Christmas decorations both inside and out. Our request for a king size bed and crib in the second bedroom was no problem. This is a perfect place to spend a week or more! We hope to return very soon.

Our experience at the Carriage House was wonderful. We've stayed there 2 times (anytime it was available) and look forward to a 3rd, hopefully this year. I would recommend this house to anyone. Pretty, peaceful and very comfortable.

We’ve visited the Aspen Snowmass area both summer & winter for over 25 years and our month’s stay this August at the Carriage House was a welcome departure from the norm. The house has a great combination of convenience and seclusion and the location, atmosphere and appointments were all excellent together with a very attentive host.

We spent the month of July in this charming, very comfortable carriage house. Everything was as promised in the description and photos. Dan promptly addressed any questions or concerns, which were minimal. We would absolutely recommend this property to others, and look forward to returning ourselves.

Great Ski Vacation House

We had a wonderful time at the carriage house. It is a great place if you enjoy skiing Aspen, but want a more laid-back place to stay. The hot tub is awesome and all of the amenities in the house are high quality. Dan was very helpful and responsive to our needs. Make sure you visit Phat Thai in Carbondale and have a ginger cosmo!

We enjoyed our second stay at the Carriage House as much as we enjoyed our first visit. For us, it's better than home away from home. Very spacious and all the details (linens/kitchen ware, etc.) are high quality. We live at sea level so--when visiting family in Aspen--we prefer to stay at the lower elevation in Basalt. The owner is very accommodating and ready to provide whatever guest's may ask for. Oh--and we had fantastic weather!

My husband and I just spent a delightful month in the carriage house. We particularly appreciated the home's privacy and mountain setting coupled with close proximity to the market and many terrific restaurants in Basalt, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs.... and of course Aspen. The house was well maintained and fully equipped and we found Dan responsive to our requests. We highly recommended this listing and would happily return. Thank you.

We have been visiting the Aspen-Roaring Fork Valley area for many years and found the carriage house to be more comfortable than comparable properties. The house was comfortable, well appointed and very clean. The photos accurately reflect the property's appearance and amenities. We recommend the property and would rent it again. Try El Korita for authentic delicious Mexican food and drinks.

Great Vacation Spot

We have stayed in the Carriage house for 1 week in 2008 and again in 2010. The home is very comfortable, well appointed and immaculate. Enjoyed hot tub on property after skiing. Landlord, Dan, is very attentive and quick to respond to any needs. Kids enjoyed exploring the hillside, next to the property. Area is secluded and quiet. The drive to moutains is easy and you are located near Carbondale and Basalt with many dining options if you don't want to use the kitchen and/or grill. We will be returning again and soon.

We stayed here in January of 2009 for three weeks and for the four weeks in 2010. We really enjoyed both stays. The heat in the house was always warm. The road into the house was always scrapped after every snow. Easy drive into Aspen. The landlord checked with us about every other day to see if we need anything. Really nice house for the money!! HAD A BLAST!!

We had a great stay in the Carriage House Xmas week of 2009. It is rustic in setting and character, but with all the modern conveniences, and everything is comfortable and pristine. Quite convenient to the slopes and Aspen but far from the madding crowd - a good balance. The hot tub on the porch is an idyllic spot to soothe tired muscles after a day of skiing. Then kick back and relax in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine and some Oscar Peterson or some Yusef Lateef on the stereo. Or head into Aspen for a night on the town. I'm hoping to stay there again for my next Colorado vacation. I only hope it is available!

We love the carriage house! The owners put a lot of thought and attention in to every detail to make the guest's stay as comfortable as possible. The interior design is very attractive --with quality furnishings. Kitchen is first class--fun to cook in. Beds and linens are top-notch. Bathroom/showers are what you find in a upscale hotel. Dan is pleasant to work with; promptly refunded our damage deposit.

We stayed in the carriage house for 2 weeks and had a wonderful experience. The house and everything in it was very very comfortable and nicely done. The showers and beds were wonderful to come into after a day of fly fishing on the river. The porch overlooking the valley was beautiful and very private. The owners were very accommodating.

My family and I can't say enough about our stay at this property. We had the pleasure of staying there for a month in the summer and the location in the valley was perfect for us. It is incredibly comfortable and well-appointed - there wasn't a single thing we missed or would change. In addition, it was a great place to stay with children. Our daughter had the time of her life playing outside and swimming in the pool. We would highly recommend this rental and hope that we'll be able to return to it soon!

I rent houses all over the country. This property was without a question the best. Easy access to everything from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. A great place to get away without really getting away. Hiking trails behind the house,breath-taking views and friendly neighbors make this place one of the best in the valley.

Spent a week in this beautiful property while skiing Aspen mountains. Clean, spacious and well-equipped. Beds very comfortable. Ideal for groups of up to 6. Ideally situated between Carbondale and Basalt (great restaurants in each) and only ~ 20 minutes from Snowmass. Great option if you want ski Aspen mountains but avoid Aspen.
