Location: Princeton, Minnesota, USA
Accommodations: Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 6-10)
We have a cabin that we really enjoy, on the North side of Elk Lake. It is less then 2 miles off of US Hwy 169 between Zimmerman and Princeton. Great fishing right from our dock, perfect for kids. The lake is shallow and sandy for about 40 feet. Perfect for kids to jump off the dock and play.
We have a little fishing boat with the first tank of gas provided and a paddle boat that is free to use with the rental. Water tubes and various life jackets are also available. A Pontoon is available to rent for an additional charge.
The lake is just under 400 acres. It is full of crappies and sunnies, and is a natural producing Walleye lake with plenty of Northern's and Bass as well. We have had the best luck fishing off the dock. In the Winter it is a small city on the lake with people ice fishing. There is also a Bar/Supper club on the lake, that you can drive or boat to. They have burgers and fries on up to Prime Rib on the Weekends. On some Weekends they have Karaoke and live bands. Just a short boat ride away, very convenient for a night out! They have 2 docks to tie up to or just "beach it". Outdoor seating is available also.
The cabin is a 3 bedroom, 1 bath cabin. 1 bedroom has a king bed, 1 has a queen bed, and one has a bunk bed in it. In the bunk bed room there is a queen mattress that can be put down for extra sleeping. There are 2 window air conditioner units in the cabin. We haven't used them often, as there is a nice north breeze that comes off the lake. It is perfect sleeping weather with the window open. We have an entertainment center with a DVD and VCR. There is a patio located outside the cabin. That is where we spend most of our time. The cabin has been remodeled in the last 5 years with all new carpet. We also have a gas and a charcoal grill. Gas is provided for the gas grill, and a wood fire pit outside available for use. A wood burning fireplace is in the cabin, along with a washer & Dryer.
Princeton is a 10 minute drive and has everything you should need (Coburns, Pizza Hut, Bait, Gas, etc). There is a city water park that my daughter loves to play at. They also have a roller skating rink, a race track, and plenty of places to eat. There are a couple of Golf Courses within minutes. Hiking is available in the Sherburne National Forest. Cabela's and the Albertville Outlet Mall is within a half hour away.
Time to RELAX when you get there. You truly feel like you are way up North. The majority of people that come there make that exact comment. It is close enough for friends to come visit if you want but far enough away for you to need to invite them to show up and not just drop in. Bald Eagles fly right in front of the cabin. Fisherman troll by enjoying the day fishing. We try to make it so you can relax. We provide, linens, towels, paper towels, dish soap, laundry soap, coolers, etc... Perfect for the people flying into the Twin Cities. I have about a half dozen fishing poles and a tackle box to use. Little fishing poles up to big fishing poles. We provide numerous life jackets. If you stay here and see something that we could add let us know.
Pet's are allowed on a case by case basis. Please contact us.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2003
We live about a half hour from this place. We bought it as a second home but as our kid gets older we found a lot of our weekends were busy with other stuff and the cabin sat empty over the weekends. We thought someone should use it when we are not and we end up here.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
The people on the lake are great and extremely friendly. I would say the best hidden gem on the lake is how peacefull it is. Having a restaurant on the lake is also a hidden gem. Don't feel like cooking head over for burgers, pizza or call in a "to go" order and boat over and pick it up. Not to often you can say you did that.
