SoCal Vacation Rentals' Garden Retreat is more than 2550 square feet of comfort, relaxation and fun located in a quiet community right in the heart of beautiful Orange County. This home away from home is loaded with amenities and sprawls across an enormous 11,000 sq. ft lot at the very end of a long elbow shaped cul-de-sac.
As you walk in on the second floor of this beautifully renovated tri-level home you'll notice the hardwood floor drawing you into a warm, open floor plan. This home has been set up with maximum comfort and enjoyment in mind. The living room features a bay window and 32" HD flat panel television, comfortable for an evening of shows, movies and conversation. Adjacent to the living room is the formal dining area, which also connects to the kitchen. A powder room is also located on the main level.
The master bedroom suite features a king size bed, large walk-in closet and newly remodeled bathroom with double vanity and beautiful tile Roman shower/tub. The master also features a 32" HD flat panel television and a sliding glass door that steps out onto the covered patio. Note that the master bedroom is situated on the opposite side of the house from the other bedrooms.
Upstairs you'll find three more bedrooms, two with queen beds and a third with two sets of twin bunk beds. Each room has a ceiling fan with dimming lights and full-sized closet. The newly remodeled upstairs bathroom features a double vanity, tile shower and tub.
Downstairs is where the fun begins. The billiard room features a 7-foot pool table, four spectator chairs a pub rail. The windows look out into the pool and play area of the backyard. Looking across from the billiard room into the media room you'll see a beautiful 47" HD flat panel television with 5.1 surround sound, HD DVD player, digital video recorder (DVR) and cozy seating. If you are really looking for a good time, be sure to inquire about the Playstation* gaming console featuring the smash hit game, Rock Band with four packs of songs! This is the full 4-player version including the microphone, drum set and two wireless guitars. Playing on the big screen with the surround sound is like putting on your own concert! The fun doesn’t stop there. Head into the two-car garage and you’ll find ping-pong (table tennis), electronic soft-tip darts, air hockey and a hand-made, custom Anaheim Angels shuffleboard table. Of course, no gaming area would be complete without the “game” on TV so we’ve also hung a flat panel television with DVR and Dish Network’s Top 250 Channels right there in the garage.
After a long day of taking in all SoCal has to offer, what would feel better than a plunge into your own sparkling blue pool? Dive in and go deep (9 feet in the deep end) to wash your worries away. If you’re looking for something a little more therapeutic, step into the 7-person hot tub with 43 high-powered water jets. Each of the seven seats features a different water jet “therapy” configuration so you are sure to step out feeling better than when you stepped in. Situated among the beautiful roses in the garden, the hot tub offers some seclusion while still being able to keep an eye on everything.
At dinner time, you will find all the necessary implements for a home cooked meal including all appliances, utensils, dishes, etc. The oversized Whirlpool dishwasher means less loads and more time to play. If you really want to have some fun, fire up the 100,000 BTU stainless steel BBQ grill that is the centerpiece of the outdoor kitchen and eating area. Six burners, searing panel and a separate side burner mean you can cook everyone’s food at once. Stock the outdoor refrigerator and you’ll have everything you need for a meal al fresco. Watch and listen carefully for the many different types of birds that frequent the garden, and keep an eye out for Lenny the Lizard. The property is adorned with beautiful plants and flowers throughout (but remember no picking, just looking!)
The nearest major cross streets are Lincoln Avenue and State College where you’ll find nearly anything you would need from a retail store as well as many places to grab a quick bite. The neighborhood grocery store, pizza parlour, Italian restaurant and authentic car hop burger joint (rollerskates included) are within walking distance from the home, as are several lovely parks.
Just 2.6 miles east of Disneyland, the Garden Retreat is conveniently located within a couple miles of the 57, 91 and 5 freeways providing easy access to any of Southern California’s great amusement parks, shopping malls, beaches, golf courses, Angels Stadium, Honda Center (Ducks) and much more.

The Bear Clan Retreat in Orange County

This garden retreat is located in Sunny Anaheim, the center of Orange County. My friends and I were so close to everything this Southern California playground has to offer!
The spacious 4 bedroom, 3 bath house was a great home base for our Bear Jamboree! On the main floor there is a large master bedroom and bathroom with a private sliding door to the back yard. Upstairs there are three additional bedrooms and a bathroom for 8 additional guests! There is a full size dining room off the kitchen, and both open up to the back yard. The garage has been converted into a gaming area with air hockey/foosball, ping pong, soft-tip darts and even a shuffleboard table. The lower level of the home includes a billiard room with a 7-foot pool table, a viewing room with an HD flat panel LCD television with surround sound, two very comfortable couches and all the extras you would want for a fun filled family or group vacation! The hall closet is also stocked with games. There is something here for everyone.
Out back, there is the pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen, and dining areas. This felt more like a private retreat than a neighborhood home. It was serene. We relaxed to the sounds of birds singing, the water fountain bubbling and to our favorite tunes while we floated in the pool. Some of group simply relaxed on the comfy sofa in the main living room and chatted over the days events. There is also ample parking in the driveway.
They say location is everything – it's certainly true here. The Disney parks are literally minutes away as is Knott’s Berry Farm, only 6 miles away, Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum, 9 miles, and Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, also 9 miles. Southern California’s best beaches are a quick 30 minutes away. Orange Country’s John Wayne Airport is just 14 miles. The dining and shopping opportunities are endless.
The layout of this home allowed us to have fun as a group, as well as have our own space. This one’s a gem!

Year Purchased: 2008
The Smith family owns and manages two vacation homes (soon to be three) in Anahiem, CA while raising their children in a small town outside of Austin, TX. Born and raised in Southern California, they enjoy the opportunity to return for visits with family and friends. With so much to offer, SoCal is their ideal family vacation destination. While staying in the homes they can't help but be looking for ways to improve the quality of their guests' experience.
The Smiths are currently in escrow on a third Anaheim Vacation Home and Love the opportunities vacation home ownership give them to serve their guests. They also Love that managing a vacation home business gives Angela the ability to stay home with Lincoln (5), Lilah (3) and Lucy (1/2).
Angela manages the day to day operation of the homes including coordinating 2 property managers, 2 cleaning crews, 2 handymen, a grounds crew and a pool service technician. High quality guest experiences are a team effort!
The Smiths also enjoy the opportunities they've been given from time to time to collaborate with the HomeAway team headquartered in Austin, TX. They even got to host the Griswold's Family Truckster for a couple days (see listing photo) as part of HomeAway's Truckie's Tour media campaign.
Why the Owner Chose Anaheim
This was our second vacation home. We chose Anaheim a second time because we Love how centrally located it is and it's proximity to Disneyland.
Our first vacation home, also in Anaheim, was actually our family home for 4 years before moving to Texas. When we moved to Texas we didn't want to part with our home that we had just remodeled and absolutely Loved! So the idea of turning it into a vacation home made sense, and it's been great!

We had rented homes before for our family vacations, but I must say Angela pulled out all the stops on this home! The home was just amazing! I agree the pics don't do this house justice! We had 12 in our group 4 children and 8 adults and we still had plenty of room in the home without stepping on each other! The pool and hot tub were a huge hit with everyone...we couldn't get enough! The game room was amazing as was the pool table and huge T.V. adjacent to the room with the pool table. We had plenty of eating space for all members of the family both inside and outside! Angela was always available for any questions or concerns and took pride in making our stay one we will never forget! We had 2 grandchildren with us ages 4 and 2 and when they found the tote of toys they were in heaven! We spent a week in this lovely home and didn't want to leave. We spent 6 days at Disneyland and by 3 or 4pm everyone was ready to go back to the house and swim and hang out. We had plenty of room in the bathrooms, tons of towels and lots of hot water! Everything was exactly as stated in the description of the home! Loved every minute we spent there...it was homey and felt like we were at home! You can't go wrong in renting this home or any one of Angela's rentals! We look forward to another vacation and renting from Angela...she is the BEST! We are looking for reasons to come back soon!

There were 8 of us (6 adults and 2 children) on holiday from Australia. We had just spent 6 weeks travelling around America and this home was the perfect way to end our trip. The house is absolutely amazing!. There was plenty of room for everyone and so much to do for the kids. The house is set up beautifully, the backyard is fantastic and the pool, spa and games room was a big hit with everyone. It was a short easy drive to Disneyland and the supermarket up the street is easy to get to, either by walking or car. Angela (the owner) is lovely and was very easy to deal with from beginning to end. We would definately stay here again if we ever get back to Anaheim, I wouldn't even bother bother looking at other properties, you can't improve on perfect!!! THANK YOU!!!

I must start this review with a thank you. We were literally speechless as to how perfect everything was for our arrival. It felt like home and it meant the world to us. The home was perfectly equipped with anything and everything we could ask for. Being able to have all of our food delivered by a local market to the house before we arrived was just the perfect touch. It allowed all of us to eat better and have exactly what we wanted without taking a minute away from our trip. We could not get over how it literally felt you guys have thought of everything to make our stay better. It got to the point that every time we open a new closet we laughed because we thought of course they have that for us. When we went to Disneyland and halfway through the day my daughter started asking when are we going to go back to the house to swim and play I knew the house was truly something special. The whole trip was truly special and we will be back... many times... Forget hotels! This was living! And lastly... besides the perfect, clean, incredibly equipped even better then the pictures lovely home... Angela, your help in coordinating everything was and is so appreciated! Again it just felt like you thought of everything. You asked us some interests and then sent us great ideas to make the trip better! We went to Disneyland... of course amazing... went to the San Diego Safari park... WOW... then sent to Sea World... WOW² Please feel free to use us a reference at any anytime. I looked on the internet for two weeks to decide on a house that all 20 of us could enjoy. I found this Garden Home I and knew it was the one. We stayed 7/9-7/16. When we arrived the manager was there to greet us and show us where things were. Let me tell you they have everything you need to set up a home. We put our food away and put our stuff in the Master Bedroom which was GREAT!. Then everyone started to arrive. We have 4 children with 2 spouses and 11 grandchildren from 11 yrs to 25 yrs. We are from Lake Forest a little down the road from this house, but we needed a place to sleep everyone so we were not the average rental people. We did not want to go to the theme parks as we can go whenever we want. So we hung around the house for 24/7. We got up had breakfast, in the pool, others were playing pool, video games, ping pong, air hockey, shuffle board, it was a blast. Everyone loved the home and the kids want to do this again next year. There was not a dull moment. If we could give a higher overall experience it would be a 10. Angela is so on top of everything and so helpful. Mike and Angela you did a great job on the house, and the one next door is so beautiful too. Everyone that has small children this house would be great as when everone is finished with the pool you close the pool cover and no one can get in. It is open and closed with a code box so not everyone can open it. But we did not need it as everyone was older but we loved the idea that Angela and Mike have thought so much about the needs of people and to make them enjoy their stay. We always closed the pool cover and jacuzzi at night as it helped keep the heat in and leaves out. We loved sitting on the patio which there are two tables with chairs and we used them day and night. There are toys for young children (we did not use) but they have thought of everything. Now all of us call the house our vacation home. Thank you so much for a blessed and wonderful vacation with our family, it ment so much to all of us.

We rented this house with friends and family and their children. There were 5 adults and 7 kids total. We had the best vacation ever! We didn't want to leave. The house was wonderful. The owners have planned for everything we could want or need. They thought of everything from extra floaties for the pool to extra shampoo and soap in the bathroom. The house was large enough for 12 people, but we weren't stepping over and running into each other constantly. We were able to actually relax in between our trip to Disneyland and the other parks.The pool and the hot tub were huge hits with everyone and there was at least 2 kids in the game room at all time. We bought groceries and cooked our own meals which saved a ton of money and with the washer and dryer we were able to pack less. The house is in a great neighborhood and is close to the attractions. In the past when we have stayed in hotels for vacation, it seemed like we were always wanting to get out and do something because we were closed in together in one or two rooms. But the end of our stay, everyone was still getting along and having a great time. Like I said, no one wanted to leave. We enjoyed the down time at the house in the pool, hot tub and game room as much as we did while we were out seeing the sights. Everything was clean and well maintained and the owners were great. They have put together a binder of some of the local businesses that are close and suggestions for restaurants and shopping. I would definately recommend this house to a friend. If we ever go back to California, we will be staying in this house!! In fact, I don't know that we will ever stay in a hotel again. Rental homes are a way to go. I encourage people to rent the house with friends or family. Between the cost of a hotel and eating out, I think we actually saved money going with the house. I would also encourage people to use the grocery delivery service. When we got to the house, after driving 2days (22 hours) we were exhausted, but our groceries were in the kitchen waiting for us. We had everything waiting there for us. And after we left, we received a call from the owner telling us that they had found my daughter's ipod, and they promptly mailed it to us. This was a great vacation! Thank you Angela!!!!

Our mainly NorCal extended family enjoyed a 4 day weekend celebrating our daughter's graduation from local Cal State Fullerton. The house listing of amenities was exactly what you received. The pool, hot tub, game room, billiard room and movie room were well used by our group. We easily slept 12 and had a graduation party of 20 with plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have fun. They had air beds available for the adults to sleep on instead of a bunk bed or pull out couch, which was great because the pull-outs weren't very comfortable. The owners happened to be next door getting their newest rental ready, and were very friendly and helpful. When I asked if they had pyrex baking dishes, Angela brought over 3 of them upon our arrival. Location is on a quiet court in Anaheim with grocery store and other amenities within minutes. The house is tri-level, which was tricky for me with a broken ankle. But, there was a spacious master bedroom on the main level with unfortunately an odd step down shower. All in all, it is an excellent rental property, which would be great for 3 families to share.

We have stayed in many home rentals and this was one of the best. The location, space and amenities exceeded our expectations. It was a easy 7 minute drive to Disneyland, close to both freeways for easy access, several grocery stores, restaurants etc. all within several blocks. Our five children were so excited to spend their evenings and afternoons in the pool and hot tub. The backyard and pool area is large and fantastic. We spent every night eating and BBQing outside. The owners provided all the high quality amenities that were needed for outdoor entertainment. We ended up leaving disneyland early to return home. Inside the home has plenty of space to spread out for large families, pool table downstairs with large screen t.v for nightly entertainment and fun games in the garage. We will stay here again, I highly recommend. It had everything to make our vacation excellent.

This was our second stay and was even better than the first. The accommodation cannot be faulted and everyone down to the cleaners seem intent on making each stay a memorable one. The facilities are all you could ask for and more and for someone who spends most of his year living in hotels it is an absolute breath of fresh air. We have already booked for next year and will continue to do so as long as we continue coming to Anaheim. Thank you Angela - you have a gem of a property and coupled with your determination to ensure that everything is as you would want it - I would have no hesitation in recommending this as an absolute must!
