This vacation home is located less than one mile from Lake Jocassee, Devil's Fork State Park, and the park's boat ramp. Set among 2.5 private wooded acres this home is also convenient to Lake Keowee(3 miles away) and Clemson(23 miles). Hikers can access the area's many trails as the area borders tens of thousands of acres protected by the state, Forest Service, or DNR. Guests can reach trails with views of distant Table Rock within 1/2 mile.
The House has three bedrooms, plus a loft and two baths. Downstairs has the master bedroom, great room, one bath, kitchen, mudroom with laundry and a dining area. There is a large screened porch, plus a deck off the great room, The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed. The great room has a queen sized pullout sofa. Upstairs contains two bedrooms (with TV's)and one bath. One upstairs bedroom has a full sized bed, and the other has 2 twin sized beds. The loft has a full sized futon, card table, and games. The great room is very inviting and open to the dining area, kitchen and porch. There are two sofas and a recliner in the great room, plus a wood burning fireplace, and a TV/DVD/VCR. There is a nice selection of DVD's and VCR tapes and books on local activities and attractions. The kitchen has a bar for eating that separates it from the great room. The huge screened- in porch has a daybed, TV, rocking chairs and a dining table. There are chairs and a grill on the deck.
There is ample parking for five cars in the parking area. The house is conveniently located near Devil's Fork Sate Park, which is the only public access boat ramp to Lake Jocassee. Nearby activities include boating, fishing, jet skiing, sailing, hiking, hunting, mountain biking, kayaking, whitewater rafting, snow skiing, off-roading, scuba diving etc. Lake Jocassee is located on the Blue Ridge Escarpment, where the Appalachian Mountains meet the Peidmont. This creates many beautiful waterfalls in the area, including some that fall directly into the lake.
The house is central to many of the areas outdoor activities. Trout fisherman can enjoy several rivers within five to twenty miles including the wild and scenic Chattooga, Chauga, Eastatoee, Whitewater and the three branches of the Saluda River. The towns of Cashiers and Highlands(NC)offer shopping, dining and golf. Sapphire Valley has snow skiing, snow tubing and summer tubing/sleds. There area also several sliding rock/swimming holes ready to be "discovered".
One of the biggest attractions in the Fall is Clemson football. Traffic is very light between Lake Jocassee and "Tiger- Town", even on game days. Fans can slip in and out to the game without the traffic of I-85. Enjoy the game on Saturday and the Autumn leaves of Lake Jocassee on Sunday!
Things to bring: food, the nearest grocery store is Keowee Market(3 miles) or Walhalla(15 miles). Sheets for: 1 queen bed ,1 queen pullout,1 full futon, 1 full bed, 2 twin beds and also towels. Paper products, trash bags, firewood, charcoal, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent.
Boats, jet skis, pontoons, and kayaks can be rented from nearby Jocasse Outdoor Center available for waterfall tours, fishing and hiker pickup/drop off.

Since my college days at nearby Clemson University I have spent a great deal of time exploring the Jocassee area of S.C. After many wonderful years of renting the State Park villas or camping I decided that I really wanted a place at Lake Jocassee. My home is central to all the area's attractions ( the lakes,Chattoga River,Clemson,Highlands N.C.,etc.)
The Unique Benefits of this House
Jocassee Falls is in a very convenient yet private setting.You can be on the water or Keeowee Market within minutes. When compared to other rental options there is much better parking . Having internet, a dishwasher ,washer and dryer, and a huge screened porch allows you to really enjoy your vacation! Jocassee Falls borders thousands of acres managed by the S.C. Dept.of Natural Resources for exploring. This is all at a very reasonable price.
