This is a gorgeous four bedroom cottage, (an additional stone cottage houses the 5th bedroom) with a barn and dock that is located at the foot of Grenadier Island at the mouth of the St. Lawrence seaway.
All the rooms have a beautiful view of Lake Ontario and/or Basin Harbor. House on about 7 acres of lawn, on about 1000 acres private property, on 1200 acre Island. There are about 7 other house on the Island, but your privacy is assured.
The house has the charm of an old stone house with the comforts and conveniences of a new home. There is a large master bedroom with a private balcony and ensuite tossed marble bathroom, a bedroom with a double bed and another with a pair of twin beds, as well as a bunk room that sleeps 4.
The stone cottage contains another queen bed. The two other bathrooms are new and tiled in marble as well. The kitchen is also new with every convenience, including a kitchen aide, ice cream maker and waffle iron, as well as a walk in pantry.
Grenadier Island is nicknamed "The Paradise of Kings". On the island you can hike, swim, (there is a private beach at the head of the island as well as a private, flat stone beach by the house) boat, bird watch, fish, etc.
If you choose to leave this bit of paradise, then you can go a shore where you can find tennis, golf, shopping, movies, etc., or head over to Kingston, Canada which is about 20 minutes away by boat. (It's a bit longer if you take the Ferry from Cape Vincent.) |
